Can anyone tell me which is a Good Compatible RSS Reader for WM6?
PockettRSS is my preference but haven;t kep a rom long enough to load it into the phone and get my feeds all set up...
RSS Reader
spb Insight works well.
I'm a big fan of Garish Kernels' egress. I've tried many others but this one I really enjoy!
http://www.garishkernels.net
Egress works for me too.
This RSS reader is the business and works with WM6
pRSSreader works for me.
I love PocketRSS
Guys, let's start this thread
Must have apps
1. RSS- for me Freerange, its a must I've tried all of them but for my cup of tea I love this app, great customizations, internal viewing browser, its sweet !!
2. Weather - this is an easy one NRG's MiniWeather for sure no doubt, it simply the best, Kudos to NRG
3. Instant Messaging - Windows Live Messenger and JiveTalk beta, just love the natural feel of the WLM client and for the other protocols www.beejive.com is great as well, great graphics but its still in beta, I was one of their first customer with Blackberries and it does work like a charm on that platform, so I'm hoping the final Windows Mobile product is as smooth as the Blackberry.
4. Notes - the native notes app that comes on the Samsung Blackjack II, its nice and functional and it syns to Outlook 07 for those that are not on Exchange
5. Outliner - Efficasoft Outliner, its simple, small memory footprint and very reliable
6. Celetask - great Task managager
7. Todos - Oxio's Todo List 6.1, it works like a charm with a fair degree of customizations and highly reliable
8. GPS - Google Maps, Live Search, Garmin Mobile XT (gps app loaded to the miniSD, very sweet)
9. LedAlerts - it handles all the LED notification on my BJII and it also compatible with the Dash and all other smartphones, its assest to my setup
10. Browser - is there really another, in my eyes Opera Mobile 8.65 works like a charm, like it better than Opera Mini
11. Voice Notes - guys, check out the guys from WebIS, check out the app called "Note2Self", this is how it works, hit a key record your message and it will email you the voice notes via activesync to any email, so I have it sent to myself and created a folder and a rule in Exchange 2007 to receive all these notes, its a great "Getting Things Done" addin in my humble opinion, it will also let you save the notes to the memory card as well in orb or wma format, I give this app 100 stars and very cheap.
12. Backup - Spb Backup - simply 100% reliable
13. Passwords - Spb Wallet - very nice interface and customizations
14. Screen Capture by Ilium Software - small footprint and works like a charm
I hope we can share more
15. SkTools - great byte cleaner
16. SmartToolKit - Great vista lookalike taskbar at the bottom
17. Skyfire Beta - The best browser yet
18. KinomaFreePlay - Best Youtube video, I recommend you check it out. It could be downloaded from below under my signature labeled as Smartphone Programs. I recommend this to everyone...
19. PocketNester - NES Emulator Lots of Fun...
Music Player - Pocket Player
Video Player - CorePlayer with YouTube Viewer
TV & Radio - Spb Online
Calendar - Papyrus
Photo Viewer - Resco Photo Viewer
Alarm - pTravelAlarm
Backup - Spb Backup
Task Manager - acbTaskMan hold more info than Celetask
Wi-Fi Finder - WiFoFum2
Volume - SetVolume
Browser - Opera Mini & Mobile
VNC Client - MochaVNC
Notes - Vito Audio Notes
only in england does spb online (tv,radio..) count as productivity software...i gotta go there once i learn the language
hi stylez
Parlingo is also cool
Although its not an app, Screen guards or savers are great as well, so I thought I add mine
www.bestskinsever.com for me they are the best, they are coming up with BJII total body guard in two weeks, they already have a screen for the DASH which I absolutely loved

I just use reQall. Sign up for an account. Call from your mobile. They transcribe and email the results.
You can also use keywords. If you say "Buy milk" it starts a shopping list. You can add things whenever you think about it. Then when you are on your way to the store, you call tell it to send the list as an SMS.
Best of all, it's free.

Nice I just signed up, I'll setup the number as one of MYFAVES and test it out. thanks
Haha that program is awesome... Works like a charm...
1. RSS- Newsbreak - (Illiumsoft) It works the best for me. NO ADS. It does a good job with podcasts as well.
2. Weather - Showaco/Outerdepth or NRG's. See you need a sports ticker it's mandatory. NRG's is so clean but sacrifice is the key.
3. Instant Messaging - Palringo just owns with sending pics/voice messages only in beta too. It's light and quick. I only use AOL as my client cause I'm an old foggie that doesn't need 5 messaging programs. AIM Messenger mobile is now in final and works nice and has a great interface. Little more heavy.
4. Notes - I don't take notes have a photographic memory. Lies
5. Celetask - great Task managager (agreed) plus SKtools to clean up monthly.
6. GPS - Google Maps, Live Search,
Garmin Mobile XT (gps app loaded to the miniSD, very sweet) How do you use Garmin Mobile unless you have a Bluetooth adapter receiver?
9. Alerts - Been using DontForget forever...Thinking of trying a switch to LedAlerts if it removes the blinks unless to inform me of notifications.
10. Browser - Opera Mini for speed. For flash Skyfire, Opera mobile also in there.
11 Backup - Sprite - wouldn't change does the same as SpB
12. Passwords/ETC - Code Wallet Pro
13. Dashwire - your oh **** backup for basic necessities. Contacts, Photo's, Emails, Texts.
14. Pocket Player - best in music so clean and sexy...still can't get podcasts to work who cares.
15. Core Player - Never looked back but still hold on to TCPMP
16. Showaco Pocketsportscenter plugin - gotta have your sports updates.
Oh I forgot about the Showaco Pocketsportscenter plugin this program is amazing... its a mini espn for me lol
Garmin Mobile XT works with windows mobile devices that an internal gps or a bluetooth gps, it goes in an MiniSD card, I have mine loaded on a 4gb card, you basically select the regions you want, its very cool

You can't use toll free numbers as myFaves, so I asked reQall for a direct number. Here it is for your myFaves pleasure.

Very good bit of software far better than the built in M$ Office apps!!!
I am looking for a software that is similar to MS Notes, but offers more functionality and user-friendliness. Any recommendations?
OneNote
Personally, I use OneNote Mobile
Use this http://www.evernote.com/
I'm using PhatNotes it's ok. Better font/layout control and able to organize, color-mark notes into categories etc. Maybe a bit old school but works fine on Touch HD. Not free though.

i also use Phatnotes because you can get it to sync with Outlook without losing the outlook colors. But its not a great program. I used to have a Palm Treo and there was great notes software out there.

I second that. Best notes application as notes are stored on the server and synced to the device.
I also use PhatNotes and think it is a really good program. It does everything I need it to do...far better than the stock MS notes.
I have a very serious reguest to ask of all the good programmers and chefs on XDA site.
I am what you would call a power user of my Hermes aswell as my PC and am always looking for the best and easy to use apps for my PDA. One of the apps I would love to use more is my windows mobile office package but due to the lack of integraty between PC office and PDA office I refrain from using my PDA office. Examples is the lack of formulas in PDA office in compareson to PC office. I have searched the web for better office Apps but the cost a fortune, Example is SoftMakers Office... approx 66 Pounds.
Is there anyone who could help me and other Office users by programming a more transparent office for PDA?
And does anyone know if there are programs like GNU Octave that can be run on PPC since I am an engineering student and would love to have these tools in my pocket.
Any help in to this respect would be greatly appreciated.
P.S. I would like to thank all the people whoe have allready made my PDA experience enjoyable, My favourate roms : CRC, TNT(although it has been discontinued, Josh Manila ect... Thank you all very much
Matlab
Well I dunno about Office or Octave but there's a great "Matlab Clone" for the PPC called LME for Pocket PC, just Google it, there's no miss. I love Matlab and this great program works just as well, it has most of the functions you need when help is needed. Hope it helps!

Thanx alot, I will do so. Just for interest sake. Google Smath Studio. It is a graphing calc 2D and 3D, and you can do some programing on it, but only "if, while for " commands.
I agree that pocket office is incomplete. I wish pocket excell would do all the formulas just like the desktop version. I got spoiled using a palm pilot for years, it did all the formulas.
This request, though, might be better heard in the dev/hacking forum.

Which application is the best RSS reader for you and why?
I am looking for an RSS reader application which is fast, smooth and fingerfriendly. I have used a lot, but didnt find any aplication with this three requests.
Applications which I have used for a long time are:
- SPB news: very fingerfriendly, but it isnt very smooth.
- SBSH GoNews: fingerfriendly, good working search function, but also not fast and smooth.
- Ilium NewsBreak: goodworking search function, fast but not fingerfriendly.
I use SPB now because its easy to use, very fingerfriendly and looks very nice.
am using SPB news... has the features to limit the number of articles retained in the Phone...
New version is Smoother... Plus You can now mark your articles so they won't be written 'over'...
now you can also set how much space you want to allocate...
i've tried the other two but none has the feature to limit the number of articles...
Try pRssReader !
When it comes to RSS readers I used to rely on prss but eventually gave it up because of its many bugs (folders once created could not be deleted...). I switched to YomoMedia which so far has completely satisfied me. Its fingerfriendly, has all the features I need and its completely free. The only con is the fact that you have to configure it over the internet. But once this is done it works flawlessly. Give it a try you certainly wont regret it.
