Is the 2003SE version compatible with the PPC6600 from Sprint? If so where can I find an upgrade? More importantly could someone direct me to a thread that explains the difference between 2K3 and the SE version?
Thank you all for your insight, this site rocks!!
yeah it's compatible with 2003SE because it's the rom it comes with
at least thats what this page say

about the difference between 2003 and SE read here

I have an AT&T Siemens SX56. I used the XDA-developers Special Edition ROM v1.2 to get my SIM Lock disabled. I have T-Mobile service and my T-Mobile SIM now works, hoooray!
However!, The version of Pocket PC on this ROM is not to my liking.
I went to siemens site and they offer the latest Windows Mobile 2003 for my device, however I can't use it becuase my ROM versions don't match.
IS there any way I can upgrade the latest Windows mobile 2003? What would be the recommended method?
My current SX56 info:
Rom Version: 3.17.03 ENG
Radio Version: A.33.02
Protocol Version: 1.3.3
Model No. says: PW10a1 (even though it says on the back PW10b1)
MS Pocket PC 3.0.12039 (build 11178)
Any help or advice would be appreciated. I scared to do anything for fear that using a ROM kitchen might toast my ROM
ANY advice on this would be greatly appreciated!!
Thanks,
Brock
the rear sticker is THE right one .. your device is B and it works on 900/1900 MHz.
As long you don't touch the RSU part and you are using the SD method for ROM flashing, there is almost nothing can go wrong for using the kitchen for ROM cooking. I can't remember how many times I flashed my ROM
You can get more details by reading through this forum carefully.
Good luck
Hmm... So what version of ROM on this ROM kitchen website would be most recommended: http://lumpistefan.dyndns.org/ ?
Also is there a reason why you are only allowed 3620kb of ROM space? I thought my device had 32MB?
All I would have to do is create the ROM on that site save it as a .exe and then it would do everything else?
Thank you for the quick reply!
I forgot to mention that I have the Wallaby Boot loader version 5.22, if that makes any difference.
I also was wondering if the newer radio versions make any difference on reception/clarity/availablity of a signal????
Another thing I was wondering about is... How come on this ROM kitchen website http://lumpistefan.dyndns.org/ I have to e-mail information and await instuctions to proceed? Does he have to give me a special number that is generated to make the ROM I downloaded work w/ my IMEI or device?? Or is that totally not right???
Thanks again,
Brock[/i]
I have copied across the dowloaded file
from my pc to the xda2. I have a message which says - xda2unlock-setup-v2.2 is not a valid pocket pc application.
I assume that I am doing the wrong thing.
I am technically ignorant and would appreciate any advise please assume a lack of any basic knowledge.
The unit is locked to O2 And I wish to use my vodafone sim. I have just bought the unit and have never had a connection.

Hi there,
I'm in indonesia(asia), have an XDA II on the Satelindo network (unlocked), device info:
Model NoH10B
ROM: 1.03.00 USA
ROM DATE: 09/24/03
RADIO: 1.05.14
PROTOCOL: 1337.14
I'd like to upgrade to the latest Windows Mobile (2003 SE I think) but have no clue as to where to get the software, and what steps I need to take.
There's probably a guide or something somewhere here but I'm having troubles finding it and was wondering if there's a place for newbies to XDA modifications to go to try and learn what's involved.
Hoping someone could please assist me.
Thanks,
Hermawan

I just got my sexy new MDA pro today, and so far i've been pretty impressed (especially with the screen!)
Anyways, i was very disappointed to discover that T-Mobile didn't include MSN Messenger or Outlook, which is pretty damned annoying really because those were 2 big reasons i bought the phone lol
So i've got a couple of questions, i hope someone can help
1) What's the best current ROM for me to install (that would have MSN + Outlook on it)
2) If i DID install that new ROM, T-mobile wouldnt have blocked access to those services via their network would they?!
3) By installing an imate/jasjar ROM, will that have any weird side effects... like having mis-branded icons etc? or the loss of certain features that i currently have?
Here's my system info:
ROM Version: 1.12.42 WWE
ROM Date: 08/23/05
Radio Version: 1.00.02
Protocol Version: 42.33.P8
ExtROM Version:1.12.126 WWE
Grateful for any assistance
[EDIT: As this post is Universal related moved it appropiate forum, eDsuB]

Does that t-mobile ROM include MSN etc? (US version?!), is there a 'changelog' type list anywhere?
Thanks!
(BTW, is my current ROM ancient?!)
im also a newbie with a mda pro and want to know if there is a better rom to use.
The guy in the t mobile shop said he was using a imate rom as it was much better and stripped of all the t mobile junk.
As helpful as people are here, there is just so much info to actually find out what is correct and what is not
i have flashed with the latest t mobile rom but msn messenger still refuses to work

I have looked all over google and on this site and cant seem to find a guide that will let me upgrade to "windows mobile version 6.0" or higher i really need someone to help me do this. i would really appriciate it ! =D
If you need anymore info about the phone just ask.
Its possible to upgrade to 6.1 and 6.5... You can read more in the wiki:

okay ive never updated my xda mini s before so could you possibly be able to tell me where to click and stuff :S, that would help alot thanks
I've never flashed an older device and having a quick read, for yours it looks like it can be tricky
Here is a step-by-step procedure for flashing:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/index.php?title=Wizard_Windows_Mobile_6_for_newbies#Procedure
Read through that carefully, be sure you know what you're doing before trying anything. or you may brick (make it un-usable) your device
trying it now its very confusing :S, thanks though.
david, once i have flashed my phone, where can i find the 6.1 and 6.5 ROM updates to make it windows mobile 6.1 or 6.5 i think its this site " http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=492532 " can you check it for me please, thanks.
