As I am new to this forum and this xda, would somebody please tell me the best way to go about unlocking my XDA IIi so I can use it on the vodafone network. Thank you for your help....
Hiya,
I am also looking for the unlock so I can run Orange SIM.
Hiya
Only known ways at the moment are either using the pay Remote unlocking sites such as www.imei-check.co.uk which costs you £20 at least.
The other way is to phone O2 customer services (if your on O2 contract) who will provide you with an unlock key but it costs £15 and takes up to 6 weeks.
there is a thread in this section, where people are trying to crack the phone for a free unlock tool but as of yet there is no "free" way.
Unlocking

hi danny, i tried this with SIM in and with no SIM but doesn't help, still get the Simunlock program prompting me for network code.
Any more ideas?
This is only the procedure to enter the Bootloader mode on the XDA 2i
you still need to complete the other steps on www.imei-check.co.uk to unlock your phone , it requires running a program to extract some information which you then upload to www.imei-check.co.uk allong with your IMEI number, Photo ID and £20.

Hi Guys,
I just bought an XDA executive on ebay from the UK.
The seller said it was unblocked and hould work with any sim, but after recieving the unit and turning the unit on i cant get past the o2 screen and none of the buttons on the phone respond to once clicked upon.
Please advise?
Thanks!
Hi,
I think that you have to upgrade your EXEC with O2 shiped Rom that you can find it on the ftp://ftp.xda-developers.com login using xda user and pass xda and under folder Universal, i am sure that you won't have problems olso sure that the phone is unlocked couse o2 is giving it sim lock free phones
Kind regards
HowlingWolf

Then, For how to install it, there are many threads on this. I don't remember which one I used but I did and it worked fine.
Good luck,
Patrick.
hi freinds, i hope someone can help me i bought a XDA EXEC on 02
through my newspaper but when i switched it on at home it has a password ,i have tried to reset this by reseting the 'reset' button but still same.
i cant even contact the seller whos phones turned off.
Also is it possible to unlock this?
thanks
ps i will donare 10.00 if someone can help me kindly
There should be a possibility to make a hard reset for the device. Search this forum for this. Usually, you must press some buttons and the reset button at the same time. Then the password should be removed.
About unlocking: I also wait for the people to find a way to unlock it. Many people already asked for this in this forum.
For the developers: as soon as my MDA Pro is unlocked, I will make a donation of 30 Euro for you!
These assholes from t-mobile in Austria ask for about 100 euro for unlocking
Hard reset - the two "-" keys on the pad and press the reset button. (hold all together)
As for unlocking, the xda exec may not be locked, and if it is, you can either
send it to imei check,
contact O2
or wait for the guys here to make an unlocker (This would be the free option )
thnks guys i had same problem sorted now
please can someome advise what tom tom VERSION will work on XDA EXEC BEST
THnks

Its shouldn't hold anything from T-Mobile except your progress call in screen, i think it shows T-Mobile in the banner.
I would reflash it.
Hi!
I've rooted and re-flashed my HTC Desire to run MIUI, which is excellent, I can highly recommend it.
I didn't unlock it as it didn't need unlocking at the time, however now that i've upgraded to a new device (SGS2) I've handed the Desire over to my father and since he uses GiffGaff he bought an unlock code from a site recommended by GiffGaff.
We've got the code, when you put the GiffGaff sim in it comes up with the screen asking for an unlock code. Screen has a text box, an Unlock button and a Dismiss button.
Enter the code carefully as supplied.
Click the Unlock button and then while the keyboard *remains* displayed on the screen, the phone goes in to normal home screen (though still can't get a connection).
If you then reboot the phone it goes right back to asking you for an unlock code again.
Question then is: Do I need to reflash the phone back to stock to unlock it? Or could it be a faulty code?
There's no errors or other notes that we can see coming back on the screen.
Thanks!
Matt.

Hi,
Apologies for the delay in replying to this.

Thanks for the pointer, should have seen that myself really, sorry!
