Simple fact (stated any times in this forum):I want to upgrade to windows 2005.
But boy! boy!
I am amiss with lenght and depth of information available in this forum, GREAT GUYS!
But finally turned out for me to be damn squib.
After dedicating my time and mind for 1 week, I really dont know weather this length and depth would get me somewhere.
So even though many times stated, I request again:
"SOMEBODY UPGRADE MY I-MATE 2003 TO I-MATE WINDOWS 2005"
AND PLEASE PROVIDE ME COMPLETE LINKS & DOWNLOADS CONSIDERING ME AS NOVICE!

Tell me when I open the above two links it gives me pop up window like: "503, Permission denied"!!!
Last link did worked for ER 2003

Somebody (could be admin or some selfish user) changed access settings to the FTP server. The last time I was able to login was about 4hours ago. I noticed that one of the 2005 folder (Himalaya2005 or Magneto) had its contents erased!
I do hope the admin would do something about this. But if it is the admin that blocked FTP, you can't blame them for doing so. Buzz about the Magneto have M!cr0s0ft on alert! Posters have received emails telling them to remove their posts.
Anyway, you better download Magneto somewhere else.

Well here it is . I have upgraded my qtek with http://www.qtek.nu/files/RUU172752WWE.zip from1.66 to 1.72. I did not hard reset the device before the upgrade so I had some problems during upgrade bit now all is ok. If anyone wants to upgrade also please find the solution for the country ID problem that mey occur. http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=12100 I DID not have that problem but you might. So before the upgrade please inform yourself about the problems that you may face.

You need to alter the ROM headers. See my post here for details on how to do it and also on how to avoid future problems.

I cant open himagetdevicedata.exe because i get the error not a valid win32 app when opening himagetdata.exe Also, when I upack ruu166150wwe I cant find the directory with the subdirectory containing the files himaclearjumpcode etc.

My Qtek had the higher rom on it when i bought it but I was todl I needed to downgrade the rom to make it work in English. I have not been able to get it to work and I wonder do I need to upgrade the French version before changing to English. I just want it to work in English.

I forgot to mention that I am using Guest with my USB Active
sync 3.71. I copy the himagetdevicedata into the Mobile Device and I can see it on my qtek but I just cannot open it. That is the problem.

You need to execute HimaGetDeviceData.exe on the device directly by tapping on it. Then copy the DeviceData.txt file it produces back onto your PC and view it with Notepad on your PC.
I have encountered an problem with bluetooth. I am trying to conect to gprs using Qtek 2020 with Nokia 6600 and P900. Before upgrade it went smoothly now not. So I am conecting to gprs via 6600 or P900 and it is not working

on my Qtek but it will not open. I copy it successfully on my laptop then it loads onto my Qtek but when I tap it to open, nothing happens. In other words, I cant open it. I also used winrar to get to the upgrade files himaclearjump, himagetdevicedata, etc but I cant take them from winrar to my Qtek. Is that because I did not buy winrar? I have upgraded my windows to SP2 so the program unzips automatically and I cant find the individual update files like I can in winrar.

Please follow the instructions in my post here. Most of what you have been asking is covered in there.
To answer your questions anyway, when you run HimaGetDeviceData on your device there is no visual indication that anything has happened, but a file called DeviceData.txt will have been placed in the Windows folder of the device. No other files should be transferred to your device, as the upgrade process itself is run from the PC.

I have an O2 IRL XDA II and wish to update this to the new win version above, I did manage this but lost all conenction settings for MMS, WAP and gprs when done.
Is there some file(Cab?) that can be installed after the fresh install to give me these settings again and if so how is it run?

You must take the file from any one from your friend have a PPC phone edition that runs on win 2003 se
you need the program that opens extended rom and I think you have it , so open your extended rom by clicking on start - programs - extrom tools - unhide and unlock , after that restart your device and open your file explorer and you will see there's extended rom direcory revealed , open it and you will see extended rom installation program file there , copy it to your friend device ,install the extended rom program on his device and open his extended rom like what you did on your device ( don't click on unlock , it will show error on his device ) and you will see his files and the file setting for mobile telecommunications
companies copy the file you want on your extended rom and open your config file that inside the exteded rom directory and add list as list above ( cab ://my device/extended_rom/ (your file name.cab ) )
it will be installed after hard reset automatically

But as I gone thru this forum... I heard of WM2005 beta version is released... I have downloaded the software with Active sync 4.0 but I am hesitant to try with my new imate JAM.. is it trust worthy and can I upgrade my wM2003 SE to this new one..

Like I have said many times before: I own an Imate Jasjar and an O2 Xda Exec . I am trying to have the all capabilities from my Imate Jasjar into my O2 Xda Exec and to some extent, I am successful in doing so. I have the following features from Imate into my O2:
1. Arabizer Software
2. Prayer Software
3. Hijri Calender
4. Loh-ul-Maftah (???? ????????)
5. Dictionary
6. Al-Mufakarah (???????)
I just can't the hardware keyboard to work on my O2 to write arabic (SHIFT+SYM). I have tried to replace the keyboard dll from Imate onto my O2 and made appropriate changes in the registry (I am guessing, it is in: HKLM\Hardware\Devicemap\keybd, DriverName: arkbddr.dll). I would love some help here from the experts.

How did u get the Arabizer to work on your O2, I have tried serveral times and all Iget is error messages...???

i have observed another thing, i.e. whenever I soft-reset my Universal, the extended rom is filled with arabizer software again, although, i keep my erom empty. I am running:

is there any one who could install true vga while imaginet arabier enabled, i had to disable it first, hence NO arabic system on true vega.
arabizer suite sometimes failled to install the arabic tahoma fonts , so i had to copy them manually to the windows folder.

Arabic dword
I installed Jwright Aku3.2 and the arabizer. All seem to work except the external keyboard! Found out in buzzdev.net you can change the qwerty layout thru registry:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\OEM\Qwerty]
"Layout"=dword:0001040c
The above dword is for english. I am not sure if the registry is for external keyboard. if it is for external keyboard would appreciate if anyone with the original imate arabic rom to check the value of dword. regards

Run the attached file from you ppc ..its an SPB backup file of some keyboard dlls that should enable this...
I struggled for 2 months with AKU 3.2 and 3.3 with this problem till i came across it in a post at ce4arab.com
Mind that prayer times crashes AKU 3.2 and 3.3 when coming out of standby..Heard that it works ok with AKU 3.5 from Helmi

Ok, above I can see exactly 5 "threads" on how to upgrade the 02 XDA IIs ie (HTC Blue Angel) to windows 6.5.
It clearly states DO AT AT YOUR OWN RISK, which has got me pissing in my pants.
I LOVE MY PHONE, but would also love to have windows 6.5 on it.

FOR XP USERS, WHICH IS ME.
He says to skip the first 2 steps if memory shows as 60 MB something, mine shows 121, should I skip the first 2 steps then ?
He says : 6.b copy the contents of this package to the same folder: MAupgradeUt_noID - I guess I have to get the MAUpgradeUT-NOID.exe from someplace, anyone got a link ? cant seem to find it.
my rom comes with EXTrom - does that mean I skip point 10 ?
