Hi all,
I wondered if there is a program for watching the current memory of my MDA Compact (Magician) when it is running. I need this for modifying the software. Exactly I want to read out the boot code of my MDA. I want to know which adresses currently are used in memory after starting the MDA. Maybe you can help me, thanks a lot

Hi everyone,
I have just recently switched from Qtek 9100(identical to I-mate K-JAM, 02 mini S and MDA Vario) to Qtek 8310 (identical to I-mate SP5 and O2 Orion). None of the programs I used to work with can install on my new phone. I have heard that maybe you have to emulate touchscreen in order for them to work.
Can somebody help with thi problem?
Thank you
Smartphone OS lacks lots of functions/features that are present on a PocketPC. Not only the touchscreen is missing, search microsoft.com for the complete list of differences. Generally it is impossible to force any complex PocketPC app to work on smartphone. But the reverse process is not difficult - most of smartphone apps can be patched to run on a PocketPC.
recall something about wm2005 being able to run smartphone applications
not sure if wm2005 for smartP's can also do pda applications
there is also the issue of smartphones being much less powerfull then pda's to think about
Maybe there is an option, or.... ?
Thanks guys, as for the hardware specs of the phone they are the same as my previous PDA - CPU is TI OMAP 200Mhz, 64ROM, 128 RAM, I have also inserted 1GB mini SD card and the OS is Windows Mobile 5.0.
If anyone can help with this I am still hoping to find a solution
Hi all,
I recently got my hands on an O2 XDA Exec. I've already upgraded it to WM6 and it appears to be working a lot smoother as opposed to WM5. I do have a few questions about the "true VGA" hack. I've already read up a bit on it but the time I can dedicate to scouring the forum is limited as I only have internet access at work (just shifted house and ADSL is still pending). As such, I would appreciate it tremendously if someone were able to advise me on the following:
1) what is the difference that true vga has over what i have now? (the screen seems to be pretty sharp in WM6 and vga games appear fine)
2) i've read that certain programs need their own DLLs to function properly; is there a thread which has all these concerns listed?
3) will having this tweak slow down the system in anyway?
Please point me to the correct if any do exist with regards to my questions above.
Thank you all for your patience.

Expanding the Storage memory (merge ExtROM with storage)
Have followed Wiki Wizard to Update ROM from WM2003SE to WM6, but not exactly understand Pros & Cons of Expanding the Storage memory (merge ExtROM with storage) Please help clarification and:
Should I expand the storage memory as mentioned in Wiki, Pros & Cons?
How many MBs will be lost if I decide not to expand the storage memory?
I was able to upgrade my XDA IIs using rickywyatt's rom (thanks a bunch) i now have WM6.1 all is working fine although i'm still trying to learn how to tweak my registry and make my BT-OBEX working again.... I'm also using Point UI 1.5a. I even got Pocket Live messenger and Office Mobile. I suggest using the wikis and the tuts everybody hands out so that you can really make your BA/XDA IIs a blast!
Hi Guys this is my first post so please be nice .
Anyways i have a desay m9(from china) with wm5 (smart phone) os5.1.478 (build 15706.3.5.2) I thought it was a Normal windows mobile 5. My phone has touch screen and an xscale pxa270 312mhz processor.
I was wondering if there is ANY way of upgrading to a real wm5 os thats not a smart phone edition?? or even better upgrading to wm6?? Or is there any way to emulate a real wm5 or6?? I dont like wm5 smartphone edition. Its too limitted and i cant install verytghing thats wm5 supported. I have very lil knowledge of wm. If there is anything that can help it would be great. You see i cant send any messages because the abc on my phone is in chinese and not handy at all. I know the real wm5 has atleast a virtual keyboard. Can any please help me or guide me to alternative solution>>?? eg: Some kind of writing software that works with sms's or some kind of wm6 emulator that i can launch on my phone? Or some kind of way to hack it?? Please anythin.
thanks in advance.

Hi guys. All i want to know is if i can just download any version of wm6 or 5 and install it like a pc.
I never done it but i dont like wm5 smart phone edition. Its a touch screen smart phone...cant i upgrade to wm6?? please help.
No, you cant upgrade your smartphone to windows mobile 5.0 pocket pc edition, or to windows mobile 6.0.
But you can install windows mobile pocket pc application on windows mobile smartphone edition.
Link to site with explanations in your private messages.

thanks you all!!
ooo
Please give me link to normal WM too...Its terrible=(
Somebody give me link too..
Please guys give me some information or useful links about DESAY m9!
Don't ever ask again.
You know your device is strange, so nobody can help you.
If you insist to use WM instead of SP, go port the ROM yourself (and figure out how to flash the image yourself).
hello
starkwong what do you mean by sp?
thanks
