I'm looking for the registry entries for the microsoft bluetooth stack on a ppc2003se device and maybe the bt dlls in the windows directory. I downloaded a imate jam rom, but I can't figure out how to extract the information I need from it If someone could provide me with a copy of their registry entries (i think all the important ones are stored at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Bluetooth\), I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you for your time!
Jason
P.S. In case you are wondering, I'm trying to restore full bluetooth functionality to my crippled samsung i730 verizon phone (mostly I want the DUN profile). It uses the ms stack and the main (only?) problem appears to be that some of the registry entries have been removed. If I can compare my registry entries to working entries, I'm hoping I can find the solution!
you can extract all files from ROM with dumprom tool, then convert default.fdf to defailt.reg with fdf2reg.pl script.
The BT DLLs from jam's rom would be useless for you - they are XIP.
Thanks for the info on the dlls, i didnt know what arcitecture the jam used. As for the dumprom tool, I tried it multiples times in different configurations to no success (nk.nbf, nk.nba, different passwords). The rom I grabbed was 1.12 from the "How to upgrade with the latest I-mate Jam ROM --GUIDE--" thread. any suggestions for one that will work?
Hi, all.
I flashed a Simplified Chinese Rom of AKU2.2, and found a application named "BTStereoAppUI.exe" under \Windows folder.
I'd like to ask if it is a stereo BT headset driver/APP? Because I have only a normal BTHeadset of SonyEricsson HBH-660, not a stereo one, and, I am looking for a stereo BT headset, so I want to discover what this EXE file can do. Any advice ?
After I donwload and extract the file, no file was found. Could you please upload the file again? Thanks.

Yes, but no file display. Could you please upload the file again?
When u unpack files from BtStereoAppUI.rar files r hidden.
if u want use it u uncheck Hidden in option. if not work goto dos mode (command cmd in run ) and use attrib -r -h -s *.* in folder unpack files BtStereoAppUI.rar
It is for wireless stereo (A2DP). It is part of Impulsesoft's iWALTZ package.
Where did you pull that rom from?
,Dave
 there is an AKU2.2 rom!
Dose anybody know a rom which has AKU2.2? (Wizard or Universal)
Hi sas90850, I have re-upload the new package.
These 4 files themselves under \Windows were hidden/system/ReadOnly files, maybe you should return its initial attribute after unpack to \Windows.

Oh,a good news!
I just get this ROM from a software company's internal testing Universal.
Even I don't know what does "AKU 2.2" and "AKU3" mean, but actually I get these two ROMs, and the AKU3 is an IMEI-check one, will stick at the welcome screen prompting "wrong deviceID"
Re: BTStereoAppUI.exe from AKU2, What does this App mean? A
Since "Downloaded: 29 Times", anyone can tell us if a stereo bt headset useable?

Thanks
So if I have a imate 13076 ROM for my Universal, I can just save these files into the /windows directory and I can have A2DP.
mwang, can you confirm this?
This is extremely important!!!!
Cheers,
RE
I installed as per instructions to my QTEK 9000 and have it paired to my bluetooth stereo headphone from iPHONO.
It can detect but cannot play
Thanks FOSA.
Can the BT identify the headset as Stereo Wireless as well????
If it can but your headset still cant play, it may be your headset not fully compatible yet....
Some other A2DP rom works great with stereo Motorola HT820 but not the i-tech stereo headsets....
Cheers,
I have installed this on my Qtek-9000 ( using latest I-mate ROM ), and tried with Anycom BT stereo headset: no success.. . I can find the headset when I choose New from Menu, but cannot pair or connect...
I suspect we would need at least some registry changes to make it work. This application looks like a first version of something, f.e. pairing or BT service discovery is not in the options. It makes me wonder anyway what is the connection between the present BT-stack and this appliaction, if any.

Widcomm stack does exactly what?? What does it improve on, and I didnt think it was fully implemented for the Hermes??
Id love to get this working if your willing to tell me how to do it or what not where do i get the drivers

Due to having far too much work to do, I haven't even started looking at cooking my own ROM for the Hermes, but the registry should be stored in the default.hv file...
Look here for more info: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=249836
Post #229 by Bepe has a (his?) tool to convert to/from .txt so that you can edit the default registry.
Hi all, wondering whether anyone can help me.
I have a old Atom Exec lying around, it suffers from problems waking up from standby only- it freezes occasionally. Basically at the time I had no other option but to upgrade to a Trinity. However, I noted that the Toshiba G900 seems to have EXACTLY the same problem, and I believe also the same processor, and Toshiba have just released a patch for it-
www.toshiba-europe.com/mobile/G900Patch.htm
A forum regarding the fault can also be found here.

Unfortunately a direct run of the exe file on my exec does not work. I was wondering whether anyone had a way of extracting the DLL or finding out from it how I can fix my Exec...
Thanks in advance to anyone who can help.
you can try to rename the exe file to zip and see if it's the kind that opens
i would not hold my breath though
there are 10000 reasons why a device could freeze
and trying to use a fix for such a general issue
made for another device seems like the mayor of badOddsVille

Hi.
Does anyone know if it's possible to create a CAB file directly on my phone? I want to do it through C#, so either an assembly or command-line app would be ideal. I think I'm asking for something difficult here, but have my fingers crossed.
You can do it as sktools have software for phone that does the job all be it in a very tedious laborious way
Cheers mate. Nice to know that it can be done. Now just need to figure out how!
let me know if this one helps you out:
http://www.codeproject.com/KB/files/CABCompressExtract.aspx
Thanks RAMMANN.
At first that looked great, but then I read the following...
There are two completely different types of CAB files: The ones which this project supports are the "Microsoft CAB" files (also called "MS-CAB"). The internal pack format may be Microsoft's MSZIP or LZX. Some years later, InstallShield created the "InstallShield CAB" files. But these are absolutely incompatible with the MS-CAB files although they use the same file extension!

Since I'm looking to build cab installers, rather than just compressed & zipped files, it looks like I may be out of luck. I'll keep looking anyway.
Thanks for the suggestion mate.
???
I didn't know there's anything Installshield related on a mobile phone. Are you sure? I guess they are talking about PC installers. In your position I would try the sources to read an existing mobile CAB and you'll see if it's working.
Oh and btw I think that the mobile CABs are nothing but compressed archives but the installer extracts _setup.xml which is in all contemporary cabs and this contains all the installation infos needed.
