How 2 make Vibrator to vibrate discretely ? :(:( - Upgrading, Modifying and Unlocking

is it possible to change the way the vibrater vibrates in XDA2????.
When i assign a long ringtone the vibrater goes on continously. It is annoying. whereas if u compare Nokia 6230 and other phones,it vibrates discretely.
can anybody hack this ????????
many thanks!

You can install pocketZenPhone see in this forum it does the way to change the vibration type at different profile.

If you have a ringtone that goes, eg, "da...da...da...da da da da da...da...da..." does PocketZenPhone pulse on each "da", or does it just do it every few seconds regardless of the pattern to be more "discreet"?
I think what gopi means is really would be is there a program / way of intelligent vibration that goes on the structure of the ringtone? If PZP does this then please let me know.
Cheers
Ant

The solution is to carry the nokia in one pocket and the xda in the other, set up call forwarding to the nokia, when the nokia vibrates "discretely" just answer the xda, easy. 8)

Silencing incoming call?

Hi guys,
I've been playing around with my SPV M2000 for a few days now (great phone!), but one thing is still puzzling me. Is there anyway for me to mute the ringer when I receive a call?
I know I can just reject it, but that sends people to voicemail instantly, so they know I've rejected it... I just want to be able to mute it, but have it ring on until it automatically hits voicemail (similar to the "Silent" function on the P900/P910).
Anyone know if there's a shortcut that will do this for me, or possibly a 3rd party plugin?
Thanks in advance,
Chris
He he, i wonderdt about that also when i got my BA, and i realised today that you just have to move the sound control slider on the side down, thats it
LOL... I can't believe it was that easy, thank you so much.
Ha ha, me neither.
I also had a P900, so it just diddent occur to me to use the sound slider for this.
No, no way. Either there must be an option on screen, or using simillar as #3 on the P900
Man these forums are the best ! In the past 24 hours I've found solutions to at least 3 problems (Smart Dialing, SMSes not being sent, and the silence call) that have been driving me crazy for the past month & couldn't find any clue on in the i-mate forums for my PDA2k. It really shows you how poor the manuals for these things are !
Thanks alot !

Profiles

Is there an app or tool that lets me use profiles, like a standard Nokia phone.
I would like an bar on my today screen where I can set a profile for normal, loud, silent, headset, meeting, etc.
With each profile have a different incomming phone call volume and ringtone. Same for Messages and notifications.
Is this availeble? or hard to create? Are should I keep on dreaming?
Thnx
try pocketzenphone (http://zendrui.free.fr/PZPForum/index.php), I use it for years now and its great!
The Ringtone you can define at the contact directly. Its not possible to change the volume for each contact seperately.
thnx
Looks like a good tool.
Only thing I dont like about it is the 30-day trail Periode.
I found Profiles - v1.2.1 on www.pocketpcfreewares.com.
Its FREE I'm gonna test it for a few days. I believe I read somewhere that it isn't all that great, but we'll see.
Thnx Calvin42
I had a little problem with my free app this morging.
I set the alarm to go of at 06:00, but it didn't.
There was no sound, so no waking up.
Gonna find me another app.
pocketzenphone is the best of all!
Try it and you won't regret it
Also give PhoneAlarm 1.30.03 a try. Personally I find it better than Pocketzenphone primarily because of the fact that it gives you the possibility of repeat alarms in case of a missed call, unread new SMS and e-mail, etc.
Kind Regards

[WM6.5.1] Am I the only one who needs a keypad when answering calls?

I have an intercom in my building that is routed to my cell phone. I need to press number to open the door. In the latest builds of 6.5.1, when I receive a call, the option to show the keypad does not appear and no hardware buttons seems to trigger it either .
Is there a setting or registry key somewhere to force the keypad to appear also when receiving calls?
Also, when making call, is there any specific registry keys that control the screen turning on and off during call that I could control? I can understand the problem of having the screen active while the phone is on the hear, but I find it very annoying to have the screen turning off automatically while im answering questions from, i don't know if you remember the time, when the automated voice answering systems were only understanding key tones...
I find it ironic that my smart phone with gps and internet is not able to mimic the same functionality as any land-line phone can. Its like, yeah look at my new phone, its great for everything... except for the 'phone' experience.

I love XDA and its community and thanks to every hard working rom cookers. MS should pay you all big time for what your doing.

[Q] Call Volume Profiles

Hi,
I've had a quick look through the Q&A forum but didn't see anything obvious.
Anyway, I wonder if there are recommendations on call volume management for incomming calls. My various phones have always been Nokia prior to the Desire. The Nokias have a facility to quickly config profiles and change them, e.g.:
o Meeting (one beep for incomming calls and messages);
o General
o Silent
o Outdoor
....
The profile sets various attributes like Call Volume, Ringtone, Vibrate. These are then fixed for that profile so no chance of accidentally changing the volume to silent in you pocket.
I tried a couple of Market apps but the ones I tried didn't do the job properly.
Any thoughts on this, or is it just live with it ?

did you check out an app called Setting Profiles? looks like the full version will do all you want, and there's a free version you can try.
Thanks,
I'll try it tomorrow and see if it does the business.

Need help with a question!

I was wondering if there were a way that when I plug my headphones in that it wont automatically change the volume down.
Also is there a way that when my phone starts ringing that it wont start low and then get louder? Like the first ring will be lower than what follows. I just want it all the same. THANKS!
anybody? i hate that it does these things!
Tasker can do all of that, but takes some work.
I know in settings under sound or calls you can adjust the progressive ring feature. As far as head phones go it is a built-in safety precaution.
