Morning Everyone, what i would like to know is - is there any software that enables your PDA to be used by a left-handed person, now i know that all the right handers will laugh but it is a seriuos problem for us lefties...
So is there any software out there? i ahve googled but to no avail...
P.S. Just you wait until i build a left handed kitchen and make all you righties use it!
P.P.S. Long live Ned Flanders!
what is the problem for the lefties with this phone?
the position of the hardware buttons?
I'm right handed so i have no idea what this adaptation software should do.
i'm left handed and have no problems using pda's
so i'm not sure what the problem is
once read a test that showed that lefthanded people more often then right had a twin but the fetus that made it absorbed the other not sure if it's pure chance or a possible cause for being lefthanded
no transparent left hand ..
Hi ...
The most trouble left handed people have is that the scroll bar is on the "wrong" side.
when you scroll thru a list you can't see the list anymore your left hand will be in front of the stuff you want to read.
I am looking for a long time for a solution for this. In them main time I use the scrollbar from the top ( left hand above the screen) ... but you should see me work on the PDA .. you will lauch
As far as I know Bill Gates is also lefthanded .. so I ask myself does he even use WM2003 ..?
Regards,
scanner
I was born left handed but my father imposed on me that I should be right handed. So the result was I am both left and right handed. I prefer using my left hand on my XDAII. In fact there are right handers who complain that this device is for left handers. I agree with them as I am very comfortable using it with my left hand than my right hand.
good thing i'm ambidextrous meaning i can use both my left and right hands for anything...but occassionally my left seems to prefer writing more than my right... :? .
cheers
Yup ... Sacnner was right - the scroll bars are on the wrong side
and yeah all you right ahnders will think us lefties are being petty but it really does get frustrating after a while
So nothing out there to help me?
i do remember nyditot as having orientations for left handed or right handed or landscape modes. it's the software which allows you to rotate the screen of the pda; downside is it's unstable with the xda2. i tried it once and had to do a hard reset coz it was screwing up my unit.
i just use a finger from my right hand when i need to scroll while using the stylus in my heft hand
Robson, whilst rotating the screen would indeed bring the scroll bar to the other side, wouldn't the screen be upside down at that point ?
cheers,
Alex.
well everthing we see are upside down when it go into the eyes and the brain turn it around so maybe brainSE would make it possible to rotate without doing a softreset [/b]

Correct. The scroll bar remains on the right with left or right landscape mode in WM03SE.

I'm left handed and I don't find it difficult to use the scroll bar. I'd give my right arm to be ambidextrous though.
I'm left handed and don't have a prob with the scroll bar.
It depends how you hold the stylus - if you naturally write with the pen pointing away from yourself, it's not a problem, but if you normally hold the pen pointing towards yourself, your hand covers the screen and this can be a problem whether you're left or right-handed.
Well due to popular demand, I've decided to put this on this general forum. It's designed for the HTC touch but have heard widespread talk about it working on other devices. A lot of people really like it so I figured some people who don't go to the touch-specific forum would like to try it out. It does require a touch screen(that's kinda the idea) and although I designed it on WM6, it should work on WM5 if you have .NET CF 2.0 installed. Here are the instructions, just replace HTC Touch with touch-screen WM6 device
I've been working on picture viewer for the HTC Touch that has a little more of an intuitional feel(kinda like the iphone tho mine has some major differences) You can use the touch screen for everything including changing pictures, panning, and zooming in or out.
Here's how to control it:
To use gesture mode check "Gesture Mode" in options menu, to use double-click mode uncheck "Gesture Mode."
Gesture Mode:
Sweep your thumb to the left to move to the next picture
Sweep your thumb to the right to move to the previous picture
(for sweeping, start with your thumb/finger off the phone, otherwise it'll mistake it for the panning gesture)
Press on the picture and then move to pan
Double-press to change to full screen.
Double-Click Mode:
double press to switch between panning and switching pictures/zooming.
move picture with finger in panning mode
zoom by moving finger up/down in non-panning mode
switch pictures by moving finger left/right in non-panning mode

Edit 10/9/07 05:59 PM PST:
This update makes the program WAY better. I made it a lot more stable first of all. Also, and most importantly, I made it so you don't have to press on the menu to activate it and then press again to use it or press the center button to go back to the picture. Simply press on the picture and move it to move it, or press on the menu to use it, kinda the way it should be. Enjoy
cool!!!
this is really impressive! very easy to use... i like it alot! only con i got is that.. its hard to read the folders you want to use (where pictures are stored)

Hi,
using great Artemis Touch 3.01 ROM I was just wondering how to change size and/or postion of x-and ok-button (top, on the right). Sometimes I have problems with my "big" fingers to press these buttons so it was great if you could change size or position of these buttons. Is there allready a "solution" for this?
Regards
Use the OK-button instead?
Yes, still using this but I want it reachable on the touchscreen. On HTC Touch devices you don't have an extra ok button for example.
I think this is one of the main problems of Windows Mobile over Iphone, the operating system shows a small OK button wich is no clickable by finger , even if You have a nice gui eventually at some point You need to click the OK button...if only Microsoft could give Us a bigger top bar with bigger buttons!
Hello all, I just got a T Mobile Dash yesterday and updated it to windows mobile 6.1. I never had a smartphone before and I must say, I like it better than my Iphone. The jogger works great but I was wonder if there is anyway to set the bottom jogger where if i double click it, it would scroll to the right side on a sliding panel. For example under the first sliding panel there is missed calls, history, text msg and other stuff, so double clicking the bottom jogger would allow me to scroll right rather then me using the d-pad right. I searched around here and found a thread on how to configure it for application launching but none for what i would like to do. I was hoping there is a easy way to do it under the jogger configuration. Thank you.
I know this is not exactly what you want but if you just push left on the d-pad once it will go backwards to the last item rather than going right a bunch of times.

Hi Guys,
Ithink everyone would be up for this!
is there any exisiting software that could create a onscreen dpad for the TPs -right where the onscreen keyboard button is would be perfect for landscape use of the phone...
im not clever enough to code anything like it.. is this sort of thing possible ?
That would be great.
The default keyboard has directional arrows similar to an on screen d pad. I wonder if that can be used to start with?
Yeah is does, would be nice to have something that just took up a small amount of space on screen!
I miss the rotating wheel on the tytn II as well! used to use that loads!
BUT - the TP2 is alot better overall..
