So despite every effort to keep my shiny new atrix shiny and new, it has taken 2 major spills out of my truck when exiting the vehicle. Big lift + big tires = LONG fall to the ground, which has resulted in a few scratches/scuffs to the battery cover (which I swear doesnt fit proper now ).
Do they have replacement covers out yet? Stock, that is? I am going out tomorrow and buying a beast of a case for this thing. I'm hoping the cover is just a little tweaked and none of the actual phone body is messed up so with a new cover it will fit just fine again.
I saw them for sale on the Bell website, and it seemed like they were in stock.... I'll have to look for the thread...
eh...they have original and ruggedized battery covers on their website.
Bell Atrix Accessories
does it appear the bell cover is branded as "bell" or is ut just branded with motorola? i havent even taken the sticker off the back of my phone yet but the case is slightly tweaked from the fall so I would like to replace it.

They should just be branded Motorola since they are OEM parts
I have one on the way currently from Motorola. I called their support told them I had scratched mine and asked them about buying one since the website does not currently list them. After a few moments the lady on the phone told me they were waiving the warranty exception and were going to send me one for free.
Support number was: 1-866-289-6686
can we get those Hybrid Cases in the states
Those cases are awesome. is it possible to get them in the states?
Lifted truck + phone in lap = fugged up. Ask my iPhone. It got 4 replacement screens haha. My Atrix got a case before it got out of the box! You are from GMfullsize right? Name looks familiar.

Before I clicked the thread I saw your username as the last post haha. on GMFS too.
I am going to possibly see if I can get the whole phone swapped at costco since for whatever reason the battery life has all of a sudden gone to hell in a hand basket. It was at 90% when I went to bed 8 hours ago and I woke up and it was at 60%.

Has anyone used this case? I bought the kickstand case and after 3 weeks the bottom half of the kickstand broke off. I was thinking of getting the credit card case because in L.A. we have these things called Tap cards for bus passes. You just tap it onto a sensor and it'd be easier for me to tap my phone and put the card in the slots. Is the case fine? Is the plastic between the slots and the back of the thick or just right for sensors to maybe reach it?
Sorry for writing so much!
Thank You.

I don't know about those cases but that's a great idea! I wouldn't mind having one for a pay pass debit card. They work on the same concept.

i have the case mate for the mt4g. it hold up to 3 cards. works amazingly. not sure about your bus pass though
I've used that case since December of last year. It's a really nice case and it holds 2 cards, but I managed to fit one more, lol. As far as the Tap card goes, I'm not sure. Never tried it. I always had the Tap in my pocket. Not so sure if it'll work since it is a little thick.
I have one really convenient
Where did you guys find this case with credit card slot?
please link.
^google "casemate mytouch 4g"
I love mine, had it on since I bought phone last year. It is only good for 2 cards though, I have found 3 makes it too tight to pull them out. It has literally saved my phone from a lot of damage.

Planning on picking this up at local TMO store today after work. They have em on sale for $15, and my best skins ever is peeling off, so I figured why not? I like the idea of the card holder...any more updated reviews on this case? Does it protect decently? Not too bulky?
UPDATE in case anyone reads this thread: The $15 price was only for online TMO, in-store was still $35. But I wound up getting it on Amazon for $10
Quick review: Love the case. It adds a little bulk to the back of the phone (due to the slot for cards), but not much - and I consider it worth it because I can fit: my drivers license, my bank card, my metro pass, and my gym key card all in the space provided; which means I don't have to carry my wallet around, so the slight bump in the back of the phone is worth it to me. (Side note that makes this case more beneficial: there's growing evidence to support that carrying a wallet in your back pocket can lead to serious back problems).
I'm surprised I didn't see this question already when I searched. Maybe I am blind.
I want to get a One X (or maybe a One X+ depending on price and release date), I have been dragging my feet because I swap phones often (I have a really old Nokia GAIT phone that pop my current SIM into so I can I take that phone with me out on my JetSki so I won't ruin a good phone and I keep my teeny Aria in my bag for when my Inspire battery dies).
I have seen adaptors for sale online and I've seen videos how to make adaptors, but I have seen mixed reviews on them. Does anyone here have personal experience?
Thank you.
The two SIMs are the same thickness but the adaptor has to increase that, so you get mixed results depending on how the SIM fits into the phone and how much space there is.
I tried several before finding one that worked in my phone.
Like the poster above me said, it depends on the adapter and phone. I bought a cheap one from a local shop for a couple of dollars, looks very similar to those found on eBay, it has a very thin plastic layer where the micro SIM fits, so doesn’t add much thickness. Has worked fine with the few devices I tested so far (2 phones and a USB mobile broadband modem). With one of the phones it was a very tight fit, but managed to push it in and take it out. but be careful not to put too mush pressure, otherwise you might not be able to get it out.
When you cut your regular sim down to a micro sim, save the pieces and just tape it back to together. Worked fine for me. Make sure you use a strong tape though, otherwise you'll have pieces of sim card stuck in your slot.
Go to Vodafone (or your local carrier's store) when I went back to regular SIM, all I had to do was ask, and they gave me a free adapter. Worth asking
Otherwise, I think they go for 50 cents or maybe 1 euro at your local electronics store.

That's exactly the kind of concerns I have. Can either of you recommend what worked for you?
Thanks!

Presumably a new phone would come with the proper SIM so I wouldn't have to cut mine (I have a small stack of old ones from every new phone purchase). But even if I did have to cut my own, I'd rather try to avoid the tape idea because of that exact reason.

Hmm. I hadn't even thought of asking my AT&T store about that. The girl I usually talk to there is awesome so if there is a way to get one from them, she would know. Thanks for the idea!

I just wandered into a local phone accessory store and told them I'd buy one if it worked, she wasn't pleased but by about the third one we got one that fitted.
My microsim came as a pop out from a normal size sim and can just be placed back to work as full size sim
There has been a couple of very long threads about fixing/improving the GPS on the DHD
Various methods - (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1757741)
and (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1318892), aluminum foil, soldering steel wire or copper wire to the phone.
I have had my phone for over two years, used just about every ROM on here, and for the past few months am using this brilliant one
[ROM][UNOFFICIAL] CyanogenMod 10.1 Nightlies / Releases [SR1] on nightly 17.07 which is perfect.
As it is now working so well, I wanted my phone to look like the day I bought it, so I purchased the FULL set of covers inc the main shell.
Everything seemed fine at first, but the GPS did not work at all. It had worked perfectly before from day one with every ROM!
Close inspection, (very close inspection, USB microscope) revealed that there was hardly any gold conductive paint on the GPS cover contacts (open circuit), and also the other two covers barely any. There is no metal under that gold paint!
If you see any black marks on the gold - THAT IS THE PLASTIC UNDERNEATH - so nothing will work correctly.
I ordered another new set of genuine covers, which were perfect. GPS is better than before, network signal better (I think that is the sim card cover antenna. Not sure what antenna is on the battery cover?
I studied the above threads and the general conclusion is, (for those who haven't already screwed up their phones by soldering)
buy a NEW flash lens/GPS antenna cover! the DHD hardware is perfect. (actually IMO all covers should be replaced)
If you want better GPS you buy something like this: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Genuine-H...K_Replacement_Parts_Tools&hash=item20b8394021
and not the whole housing lol.
If you want your phone to look like new that's fine, but it's not related to GPS more than fo this single flash cover.

Thanks for your reply, but is is definitely related to GPS http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1101066
Also thanks for your suggestion to purchase just the "Antenna-Camera-Flash-Cover" "for better GPS", (That part houses the GPS antenna!)
But as mentioned in my statement above, I wanted the whole thing to look like new.
Many DHD owners have various antenna problems, (WiFi, GPS, Network) believing it is a software problem rather than being related to the three plastic covers, which also incorporate the antennas. (it is probably the worst thing about these phones, as the contacts on them are nothing more than conductive paint)
I don't use eBay. I called one of the 1000's of phone part suppliers here, and the following day the parts arrived. Total cost including shipping £8.90 LOL!
I'm also looking to 're-new' my DHD.
I've bought a new battery, and SD card, and am using the JellyTime ROM, which I've found to be the smoothest so far, and I'm waiting on my replacement covers at the minute.
Its such an incredible phone, which I've had for 3 years now, and it'd be such a shame to discard it for a newer model, as I have no justifiable reason to do so.
Everything still works, and it does just as much as the newer models. So why change?
As you said, it costs merely £8.99 to make the phone look like new (I bought mine from eBay, and paid the same, inc postage). And it cost me around £20 for the SD card and battery, and you've virtually got a new handset.
Just turned down an upgrade on it, in favour of a sim-only contract, which is insanely cheaper than the one I was on before.
The DHD has such a stable build that it can actually save you a lot of money, so long as you don't care about keeping up-to-date with the trends.
As for the GPS issue, I've not had any problems up to now, using the stock model, despite many knocks and drops, but I am aware that the antennae are contained in the covers.
People list this as an issue with the DHD, however, I find that it makes it easier to fix when you encounter a problem. Again, the replacement part is reasonably cheap.
Glad to find another DHD lover, refusing to give up on their model!

I totally agree with you Alkerino! There is no point to upgrade it yet just to keep up with the latest trends. If it is working fine, has a stable fast ROM, it makes sense regarding saving a lot of money on renewing your contract. I will not be upgrading mine for a long time :good:
Does anyone know where I can buy a dual SIM tray that actually fits as good as the original one? I bought one off of Sunsky-online but it won't fit in all the way, it stands out of the case by half a millimeter or so. Don't really get why that is, in terms of size it looks completely identical to the original one.
The plastic cover is a little bit longer. I file a little the part with a nile file (The two ends trying to respect the curvature) and now it fit perfectly.
Will be 0.1 mm not more.....
@dgardel what a pleasant surprise, it was indeed actually quite easy once I knew what I had to do, thanks for the hint!
I just got mine from Sunsky and it's absolutely not worth it. Not only do you need to sand down the edges like you guys said but the rubber that supposed to be on the inside to provide some water resistance is actually just 3D printed and painted plastic. Honestly anyone who wants dual sim try finding another source because these scammers are going to get your phone wrecked.
