Hi
has anyone got this running Vodafone Sim in a M2000?
is it a simple Unlocking and then use the sim, or does it require different software?
If it can run on orange software how does it interact with say Orange shortcut keys etc.?
thanks
so has anyone got the m2000 on vodafone?
where and cost to unlock?

I have recently bought an XDA II privately and unlocked it so I can use my Orange SIM. The problem is I cannot use the GPRS facility despite trying various settings. I have contacted Orange "Customer Service" who said I must sort it out with O2 as it it not an Orange phone. I fear I am being fobbed off. I suspect the "O2 Active Interface" is restricting this operation. Do I really need an O2 account?
Can anyone help, please?

Re: Orange settings
There is a post in The Alpine section. http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=26725 This has a file which sets up the orange stuff. I guess it is for the contract GPRS etc. You can get the PayT from the I-Mate FTP site.
I've just upgraded to a O2 xda exec from a vodafone vpx trouble is im on voadfone
Is there a way to remove the o2 settings for good, whenever i've reset the phone the o2 settings have re-installed themselves, the phone is unlocked already :?

I would like to change network provider from O2-Vodafone but still use my Orbit. Will this work and how would I stop it automatically installing the o2 GPRS settins?
Thanks
hi, i purchased a O2 XDA orbit about 3 weeks ago and the person i purchased it from said it was locked to O2. When i recieved the phone it worked straight away with the vodafone sim card. after reading a few threads it seems as tho the O2 XDA orbit's are unlocked already?
i'm not sure how to stop the O2 settings from starting but im sure i seen somewhere that if you soft reset by pressing the little button on the side with a pin as soon as the o2 settings start that should bypass it??
i cid unlocked mine and flashed the Touch 3 vanilla rom and its running sweet with pocketPBplus 4.0.
it automatically setup the settings for vodafone and i can send and recieve mms and also browse online thru the vodafone gprs
hope this helps as its my first post!

hello, i just have brought a new unlocked o2 Graphite mobile running on WM5, however i am experiencing a wired problem. It seems to work fine on o2, Vodafone & T-Mobile. However as for orange, it works fine only with an classic orange payg sim (white colour one) but whenever i insert a new orange payg sim (blue or orange colour one) it gives me a message "no service"
Has anyone ever experienced such problem? or is it possible that the phone is not unlocked properly and needs unlocking again? please give me some suggestions.
thanks
I have a problem and after weeks of trawling the web and forums have not found a solution:
I have rooted HTC Desire formerly with Orange Contact but now unlocked; new sim-only contract with Vodafone. Phone still receives and logs on to Orange network and can do a network search within settings.
However it will not recognise Vodafone SIM; have also tried 3 and Virgin SIMs which are also unrecognised. These alternative SIMs work OK in other phones.
Have tried several ROMs but same on all.
Both Orange and Vodafone don't want to know.
Unlocking code was officially provided by Orange.
In recovery mode list of 4 items includes "SIMLOCK" in blue; could this be significant.
I'm out of options. Can anyone help?
