New BT apps allowing streaming HighQ MP3 towards BT headsets - General Accessories

I own a Bluetooth Motorola headset HS810.
I also own:
- a MDA compact
- a MDA III and
- a XDA II
I see that recently someone was able to USE BLUETOOTH NOT ONLY for receiving phone calls, but also for listening to MP3 and other sounds or musics (via Windows Media Player).
My GOAL IS TO USE my BT headset and HAVE THE SAME QUALITY THAT I CURRENTLY HAVE USING STANDARD HEADPHONES.
Now what about quality? I heard about ADSP, a new bluetooth stack which allow much higher sound quality, quasi-stereo quality.
My questions are:
1. can somebody please summarize what is the current development status? Can somebody clarify this subject to unprofessional and amateur users like me who are eager to use BT headsets and listen to MP3 (not only pick up phone calls)?
2. If this new BT stack (widcomm or toshiba or microsoft ?) is already available, then in which units can be implemented? MDA compact? XDA II? MDA III?
3. Supposing this new BT stack already exists and it enables Windows Media (or similar applications) to stream sound for BT heeadsets, THEN can I get “quasi Hi-Fi” sound quality with my current Bluetooth Motorola headset HS810 or shall I need a replacement, a better BT headset a new generation one?
Thanks for your kind suggestions

A2DP and BT version

Greetings -- I've upgraded to BT 3900 for Motorola HS850 hands-free, which works, although with static.
Now, I got i-tech Clip, and it worked as a hands-free as well. But read on.
I wanted to try it as high-quality audio setup, so I got the profiles -- although for build 3500 -- off the ftp. It did show that profile, but quickly failed to dicover the service on i-tech. As I deleted the hands-free profile, I try to get at least that back. Alas! Now it doesn't connect to hands-free i-tech either.
I've tried: installing 3500, 160.600, -- still discovery fails. What's the rollback procedure to get 3900 with its profiles back?
Braver, I also have Clip S35 from i-Tech. It works so fine with my Xda II (Widcomm Stack + Handsfree Profile and A2DP)
Did you try to reset your Clip S35 and try to pair it together again?
How did you get the A2DP profile? I've installed the profiles for build 3500 from the ftp, it added high-quality audio (is it _the_ A2DP?). I had BT 3900 by then, then reinstalled various versions after i-tech could not be found the second time.
Is it OK to install the extra profiles for build 3500 with 3900?
And, when you do get an audio profile and a hands-free one, how you differentiate -- say, you listen to music and receive a call?
Sorry braver, I misunderstood ...
What I've is :-
1. O2 Xda II
2. O2 Xda II Mini
3. i-Tech BlueCON
4. i-Tech Clip S35
5. IBM X31 (My Laptop)
And I played with them like this:-
(O2 Xda II Mini + IBM X31 + i-Tech BlueCON + i-Tech Clip S35)
I pair my Mini with Clip S35 with the Handsfree Profile. I also connect my BlueCON to my X31 (plug the audio jack of BlueCON to the audio output jack of X31) and pair my Clip S35 with BlueCON.
When I listen the music from my X31. My X31 send the audio output to BlueCON and BlueCON stream the audio data to Clip S35. So I can hear the music.
And when I have the incoming call on my Mini. My Mini connect to my Clip S35 so my Clip S35 stop the music from BlueCON and go to Handsfree Profile Mode. After the hang up the phone line, Clip S35 start the music again automatically.

For BA, I've seen from the forum but it's Thai language:-

They said that they installed PDA2K_BroadcomCorp_BTUpdate.cab from xda-developers.com like you did and every was so fine.
Please try to check and let me know if there's what I can help.
(Also, don't forget, PIN for Clip S35 is 8888. It's not 0000)
I.tech S35 paired with WM2003 SE with Widcomm 1.6.0600
Guys, help.
I have a WM2003 SE unit with Widcomm 1.6.0600 stack and I just acquired an I-tech S35. I have the following things working:
1. Mp3 over bluetooth using Windows Media Player 9 and the high quality stereo profile.
2. Headset connection for outgoing calls.
I have the following problems:
1. with the mp3, I get interference or what I assume is interference. if I move around too much, the sound becomes choppy.
2. with the headset, I can't receive incoming call. when the call comes in, it doesn't get directed to my S35 even when it's linked via headset mode. I have to answer the phone directly from my XDA2. I tried linking the S35 with a Nokia 6600 and the incoming call is redirected perfectly well into the S35.
3. I can't get the S35 to work in "buzzer" mode, even when I pair it with a Nokia 6600.
4. I've tried calling out and the person I call always says that my call is very unclear.
Does anyone else have problems like this or has been able to resolve these problems? I could use the help or I'd be forced to sell this unit since it's practically useless to me with particularly with the second problem.
Thanks and best regards...
Winston
Hi wsabido168,
1. with the mp3, I get interference or what I assume is interference. if I move around too much, the sound becomes choppy.
Ave*: I don't think that I have the interference problem but the sound is not come out smoothly. I hear the noise like you cooking the pop corn around every 15 seconds per time. You should try to contact to the shop that you bought it and ask them to try with another one.
2. with the headset, I can't receive incoming call. when the call comes in, it doesn't get directed to my S35 even when it's linked via headset mode. I have to answer the phone directly from my XDA2. I tried linking the S35 with a Nokia 6600 and the incoming call is redirected perfectly well into the S35.
Ave*: Mine is not. I can receive the incoming call from S35. I feel like there's something wrong with your XDA II.
3. I can't get the S35 to work in "buzzer" mode, even when I pair it with a Nokia 6600.
Ave*: You can turn it on and off. Please check from the manual. It said that you need to press the button (I can't remember which one) to on and off the buzzer mode. (This problem may relate with your 2nd question, I just guest)
4. I've tried calling out and the person I call always says that my call is very unclear.
Ave*: This question may relate with the 1st question. Mine is clearly (I asked from the other side)
Hi Ave, first of all, thanks for the information.
May I ask what software you have on your system? for example, what bluetooth stack you're using and what version of the OS? Maybe I can reflash my OS to whatever you're using to get it to work properly.
Thanks and best regards...
wsabido168, you're welcome ... I've 2 of XDA.
The first on is my XDA II:-
ROM: 2.06.00 WWE
RADIO: 1.18.00
ExtROM: - (Big Storage)
Bluetooth Stack: Widcomm Bluetooth Stack 1.5.0.2000
The secound one is my XDA II Mini:-
ROM: 1.12.00 WWE
RADIO: 1.13.00
ExtROM: 1.12.119 WWE
Bluetooth Stack: Microsoft Bluetooth Stack
questions:
1. with the XDAII running Bluetooth Stack 1.5.0.2000, where'd you get the Bluetooth Stack 1.5.0.2000? how do I download and from where it?
2. when you're using Bluetooth Stack 1.5.0.2000, can your XDAII receive calls and automatically redirect it to your i-tech S35 even when you're playing mp3s?
3. with Bluetooth Stack 1.5.0.2000, do you have the profile for "high quality audio" with which to use the mp3s over bluetooth?
Thanks and best regards...
Winston

Answer 2
I think the answer is No,
XDA II has the Microsoft Bluetooth Stack installed from the manufacturing. It has Headset Profile but no A2DP (High Quality Audio) available. But if you want to have A2DP on XDA II, you need to install the Widcomm Bluetooth Stack.
The stack from Widcomm has A2DP and can be run on XDA II (but not work on XDA II Mini)
After you install the stack from Widcomm, you'll be able to listen MP3 using Clip S35, but if you want to use your Clip S35 to answer a call, you have to stop the Widcomm Stack and start the Microsoft Stack instead.
Microsoft Stack and Widcomm Stack can be run on XDA II but not the same time.
Answer 3
Yes, Widcomm 1.5.0.2000 has A2DP See Answer 1 for more detail.
Will it work on WM5?
I haven't try it yet but I don't think that it will work on WM5. I'm not so sure, still need someone in this forum to answer for us.
Do you know?, i-Tech has a A2DP software for Symbian OS. It's BluePlayer which I used to try on Nokia 6600. It's really cool because you will be able to listen to the music with high quality audio, also you can answer the phone call with this Clip S35 too.
I used to contact to them to asked for the A2DP software for my Magician. But the answer was they didn't have a plan to do it yet.
Has anyone managed to get Widcomm A2DP working with the headset profile?

On WM2003SE or WM5? With the former, I've used the A2DP profile with Zonet ZUB8100 stereo BT headphones to listen to MP3s. Works pretty well; no static until I get 5-10 meters from the SX66.
Haven't installed WM5 yet, and I don't intend to in the near future.
Hey guys,
Thanks to all the information from you guys, I have gotten it to work (A2DP and bluetooth with my S-35 headset and XDAII (installed with WM2003SE) but still have a problem with the fact that the Broadcom does NOT permit received calls to be redirected to the headset therefore giving it less functionality than if I were using a Nokia cellphone with this headset.
If anyone has a fix to this problem, please let me know.
Thanks and best regards...
Winston
Winston, I took a long time to search on the internet but nobody could give me the information to fix it.
Somebody said that the problem of Headset Profile from Widcomm Bluetooth Stack and Xda II is about the Audio Gateway and Wave Driver. The Wavedev.dll didn't redirect the audio output to Handfree Profile of Widcomm Bluetooth Stack. This is all that I know about.
Anyway, nice to talk to you. Feel free to let me know if there's somethings that I can help or what we can share.
Ave*
ok. thanks again Ave.

I'm on WM2003 Rom 1.40 with WMP10. I can get A2DP working as well, however headset doesnt work properly then (IE can't take calls on the headphones).
Also another annoying problem is that WMP10 turns off after 5 minutes (ie screen goes blank), this interrupts the A2DP session, and I have to reconnect.

Bluetooth headsets with music capabilities for O2 XDA 2 mini

Hi,
i was wondering if there were any bluetooth headsets out there that was compatible with the O2 XDA II mini and had music capabiliities. I'm really gettin tired of replacing my stereo headset everytime it breaks.
Thanks
Yes, there are plenty out there.
Just do a search on a shopping site for Bluetooth headsets that support A2DP then using a patch available on this forum, you'll be able to listen to music (from your Mini) and accept phones calls.

Multimedia and wireless headphones

I am trying to resist the temptation of getting a video iPod or even the new SE990i, since my BA (Orange M2000) is well capable of playing videos and MP3. And I am quite happy with it as an organizer and its communication capabilities. I was wondering for those that have turned your BA into a portable multimedia machine, if you could give me some pointers on:
1) What software you use to convert videos into a capable format for playing on the BA.
2) I have researched the bluetooth wireless stereo headsets for the PDA2k, and hacen't found any satisfactory solution. I have upgraded my BA with the latest bluetooth stack, which now supports A2DP. Do you own any headset that you would recommend?

[REQ] Audio Stream via Bluetooth Handsfree?

Hi,
I am looking for a way to stream audio from the Touch HD to my Car. Unfortunately the cars built-in audio system doesn't support bluetooth. But there is that handsfree-thing, which works really great with calls. So I wondered, if there is a software solution that streams my music from the phone as "incoming call" to my car?
I've tried "acbToggleBT" and "BTASP" and both didn't work in the Car, but they did work with a bluetooth headset.
It would be really great if somebody knows, finds, posts, programs or has an solution.
Thanks in advance!

I can't remember but there was an option to route normal audio to the bluetooth handset in my HP iPAQ which is missing from HD.
Believe me music streaming to HSF device will be as good as listening to AM radio on poor reception. Go get a bluetooth A2DP profile audio headunit like Sony - MEX-BT2500 (this is the one I use and works like a charm).
Thanks for your reply.
Perhaps I took the wrong words to explain what I am looking for.
The thing I want is a piece of software that "imitates" an incoming call and sends the audio from S2P to the handsfree of my car.
Maybe this explanation is a bit better...?
[edit]
have you tried BT Audio
it's a paid app
acbToggleBT always worked for me
try this
There are 3 apps
btaudio on
btaudio off
bttoogle (on/off)

Excellent. I can get this to work via bluetooth headset.
Unfortunatley this didn't work in my car (which is what I believe the OP wants).

I use this application, works terrific!!.......enjoy

All i can say is this based on using it on my HD with WM 6.1 & 6.5 (Dutty ROM):
Once you install the program and then execute it (Press On):
It will transfer all Music & Audio from Movies (Core Player) etc. to my BT Nokia Headset or my BT Car Speakerphone (Motorola T305), i do not have a Radio BT set so i can't tell you, you'll just have to try.
This Cab solved my problem as the basic BT HD ROM sertting only transfers the Phone audio while this little cab transfers ALL audio, so i would presume that it may help you with your BT radio, you can always uninstall the cab if it doesn't work for you.
There is NO emulation invloved here!!??
Good luck!
Hi Ausi, tried on my Nokia BT car handsfree but no joy
The handsfree only accepts an incoming call as stated above so some sort of emulation may be needed. Would be happy if someone knew about something...

Funny... my HD does the reverse. I get de BT audio but on the BT phone I got nothing but static...
I've got a Sony Xplod bluetooth radio in my car.
When I start up it automatically connects to my HD, however it only connects as handsfree rather than both handsfree and BT stereo.
I have to go into comms manager and bluetooth settings, then select and hold on the xplod in the device list.
A menu comes up asking what I'd like to connect as, and I pick stereo, then repeat for handsfree.
Give that a go. Holding on the device to bring up the menu gives you the BT profiles the device is capable of, so with a bit of luck stereo/headphones will be an option for you.

[Q] WP7 Bluetooth Support

Just wondering what bluetooth services people are seeing on there WP7 phones.
I have a HD7 on T-Mobile USA and it's only advertising the following to my Windows 7 computer:
A2DP
Headset Audio Gateway
Remotely Controllable Device
Thanks
a2dp as a service for the phone? not sure, but my friend bought the hd7 on my recommendation and he can't get audio for video files through a2dp and its killing him
hopefully wp7 has some cool tricks up its sleeve based on what you got there
I'm interested in four bluetooth profiles, if and how they are compatible and work.
- A2DP
- AVRCP
- Handsfree
- Bluetooth HID for Keyboard
any news mostly about the BT HID Keyboard?
I found this on Microsoft Support site:
Windows Phone 7 supports the following Bluetooth user profiles:
Advanced Audio Distribution Profile (A2DP 1.2)
Audio/Video Remote Control Profile (AVRCP 1.0)
Hands Free Profile (HFP 1.5)
Headset Profile (HSP 1.1)
Phone Book Access Profile (PBAP 1.0)

This is the first device I have seen that supports SMS over bluetooth. If you have a Ford product with SYNC, you can use SMS over bluetooth. It also works with my Kenwood head unit. Basically, you can see incoming messages and, in the case of SYNC, send canned replies from the head unit. On my Kenwood, there is actually an on-screen keyboard to send any message you like. Cool stuff really!

same problem with my htc trophy. audio for video files only plays through the loud speaker and not through the bluetooth headset. I tried the blueant q1, jabra stone and jabra extreme with the same results
i have a Samsung Focus and i am having the same issue with no BT audio from videos. i tested the HTC Surround and LG Quantum at the ATT store with the same results. i am using a Jabra BT3030 which worked perfectly on my Microsoft KIN, audio streamed and play controls (Play/Pause/FF/RW) worked.
A2DP
Does anybody know if an A2DP video fix is coming up in the NoDo update? I'd say it's way more important than copy-paste, but regardless of importance, it is an important feature.
Any news?
noone knows outside of MS as far as i'm aware. we only know about copy/paste and app performance improvements because they told us. only time will tell if they actually fixed the issue.
hands free car kit and voice activation
When my LG is linked to the Bluetooth hands free car kit (Landrover) the voice activation doesn't work.
It opens but it doesn't "hear" anything
Since this is about the only time i actually need voice activation it's a bit annoying
Anyone have any ideas?
I totally agree about this bug. Who the F cares about copy and paste? How about turn-by-turn navigation for Bing Maps like was released last year for WM6.5 ?
