I think I found a way to unlock XDA IIs - Upgrading, Modifying and Unlocking

I was browsing around the net and found this site via google ads
http://www.discount-unlock.com/Unlock/GSM/1530/O2/XDA/IIs/
they appear to be able to unlock the XDA IIs via it's IMEI number I haven't used the service yet I was wondering if anyone else had ever used them?

possible unlock solution....
I've looked at the site: Although it's listed as "O2 XDA IIs", when you start filling in the details on the unlock page, it only lists some French operators and UK Vodafone as "current operator". O2 isn't listed!
I've sent them an email asking about this.
Mine is currently locked to O2 and I'm fed up with endless phone calls to them: I actually got them to agree to provide a free unlock code, but they don't seem to be able to actually get back to me with it......

So u r the person who sell it rite?

hey i have unlocked my XDAIIS from unlockthatmobile.com
http://www.unlockthatmobile.com/xd.html
I send them the logfile and they have sent me back the unlock code. They supplied me with the unlock code after 1 and a half hours that i have sent them the logfile.
I personally recemmend them because it was a hassle for me to try to find someone who can unlock these xda2s . Ebay was slow and not good.

too expensive £40
I will wait for the £20 one to come out on Monday

Currently there is 2 services for unlocking of the XDA iis (at last) one is unlockthatmobile.com for£40 and the other is imei-check.co.uk for £20 so it is worth what you pay as it is done in 5 minutes.

MDA III / XDA IIs Unlock

Hi all,
I know this has been asked a zillion times before, but has anyone got any updates on free unlocking of these devices? I know about imei-ckeck, but they charge £20 while I can do it for £15 with T-mob. Some people even managed to get them done for free by O2 customer services before they figured out they were unlocking other networks' phones
Anyways, maybe it would be interesting to gather all the logs and unlocking codes and IMEI numbers from those of you who used the imei-ckeck service. Who knows, maybe we can figure out how they do it. What the heck, are they so damn smart?? I will be happy to have any of these logs/codes to try and find any correlation/algorithm.
Cheers,
Zouga

unlock xdaIIs

Hello Everybody
I am new to this site, i am having XDA IIs but its locked on O2. I tryed all posible ways to get unlock but no good luck . please anyone can help me getting this unlock. thankyou
Hi,
Use the search button Lots of posts on this!
But basically you can either:
A) Ring O2, pay them £15 and wait about 10 working days although in my case took about 20. Bah!
B) Visit http://www.imei-check.com/ and pay them £20 and have it unlocked in about 60 seconds (no really - We did my bosses this way!)
Hope that helps.

xda ii unlocking - please, please, please help....

so having spent a what is a good deal of money to me, i cannot get my xda ii to unlock at all...
i used the unlock software provided on these forum-- the DOS one, but after going through all the instructions it said my mobile phone is already unlocked. now, it is locked to o2, and i dont have an o2 sim-- so i tried unlocking it with as well as without my Virgin sim. neither worked.
but everytime i switch it on, it asks for the network unlock code...
i am fairly new to xda and do not understand where or how to find what radio version i have and all that other stuff....
i am now debating wether to pay a bit more money and have it done by people selling unlocking services online-- where you send them IME code and they provide you with the unlock code.
any insights, suggestions, advice, much appreciated. thank you all.

[Q] O2 locked PAYG Xperia ARC. Can root solve this?

Hello, i have googled and searched all the threads but to no avail so decided to post another NooB thread!
I bought My arc from O2 on PAYG knowing full well that it was sim locked to this network. Having previously owned a HD2 i thought i could easily install a Open romm on it and it would cure the sim lock on it.
Upon looking into how to go about this i have seen threads on rooting but am unsure weather i will be able to do this on the 02 ROM that is installed on this. is it just a case of following the root guide then finding a general ROM for uk?
to summarise i just want to take the sim lock of so i can put my virgin sim card in and update to the latest android.
Thanks in advance
What happens when you put your Virgin sim in? O2 phones are usually sim-unlocked anyway, but no, rooting or debranding won't remove the lock.
Thanks for the quick reply
It just asks for a sim network unlock pin to enter.
i know i can request this but was told in the shop that i would have to have the phone for a year with O2 before i could do this. I should have just spent 50 pound more and got it sim free. i really thought that i could have worked a way around this though!
Any ideas?

Unfortunately, I have found with the Xperia Arc that it was a pain to get it unlocked. For the Orange San Francisco Android phone, someone at Modaco provided a free app that gives you your unlock code when you type in the IEMI number. Easy. On other phones, you often see codes for sale on auction sites, etc.
With the Arc, it seems it isn't anywhere near that easy or quick. In the end I had to get a refund from one online provider because they couldn't get the code (using their cheaper method - and I wasn't willing to pay for their more expensive service). In the end I used cellunlocker.net for a decent price, but it wasn't a pleasant experience from the point of view of not getting any updates on how long it would take (just kept getting told that it would be soon). However, in the end they did email the code and it did work - it just took about 2 weeks
this is what i found out online for you !!
Welcome to O2. Someone will be with you soon.
You're through to Ashton.
Ashton: Hi I'm Ashton. How can I help?
me: hi , i have a pay and go xperia arc and would like it unlocked , how long do i have to have the phone for and how much would it cost ?
Ashton: You've to use the phone on the O2 network for 12 months and then you can get it unlocked for a charge of £15.
pity ur not on contract as they do it straight away for free
Thanks for your replys. I thought it would be just a case of using a workround to install a generic rom and in turn this would take the sim lock off! I may jusy return the phone and buy a sim free version for a bit more. Cheers peeps.

There a guide here detailing how to debrand your Arc.
