What you need
A stable radio rom, and id recommend that you skip using the
extended rom for now since there might be programs that is incompatible
with Windows Mobile 2005. So, get a blank extended rom for installing.
Id recommend using the new radio rom from WM2003SE that seems
to be the most stable so far.
To install this, you also need nk.nbf, Patch1.exe to patch nk.nbf to work
with your XDA II (whateverbrand). And you need the update utility.
Summary of files:
Actice Sync 4.0 beta.exe
HimaUpgradeUt.exe
nk.nbf
patch1.exe
"empty" extended rom. ms_nbf
1. Installing Activesync 4 Beta.
- Install ActiveSync 4. Make shure that you can sync with your XDA II
just like it is, with the current Windows Mobile.
- If you run into problems, remove ActiveSync and reinstall.
- If it still wont work, try removing the device driver in windows control
panel - system - device manager. Look for the driver on the error messege.
(have not tested this, but should work if you have driver problems)
2. Going to boot mode.
- Put your XDA II in boot mode, by pressing the direction key left while
holding the off button and then pressing reset button with your stylus.
- It should go black, displaying only a version Nr. Like V 1.03 or V 1.06.
3. Patching nk.nbf.
- Run the Patch1.exe to fix the nk.nbf for your XDA II.
- Now run the WM2005 update program (HimaUpgradeUt.exe) and follow
onscreen instructions. If it complains about Country ID, download
the tool ER2003Edit.
Link: http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=ER2003Edit
Make shure you do as it says on the info page on this, so that you wont
change anything you shouldnt change!
When in boot mode, the thing to edit should normally be the brand name.
So set it to the brand on your XDA II.
4. Finishing up!
-When it is done, just reset your device and you all set.
5. About WM2005 bugs and stops.
- The new operating system handles memory differently, so you cant
install the programs in the default directory because of low memory install
it to the Storage Card (SD), in Active Sync 4.0 you can not chose this, but
you will be prompted on the device after install of a program.
- Some programs that have _not_ been rewritten into WM2003SE does
not work, and will likely to crash on WM2005.
That is mainly directed to programs that have heavy multimedia demands,
or rewrites the screen graphics.
- Be aware that bad SD card may slow down the system
extremely! But if that is the problem, i promise you will notice!
Skinning programs is to forget directly, i have not found a single program
that works.
- Pocketbreeze have problems updating on the Today screen, i do not
know if that is because of the new database system or if it is a new today
screen code. Also, contactbreeze does not work at all, seems like the
database for handling contacts is all new.
Good news!
Bluetooth works perfecly, and syncing is flawless, its faster and seems
more stable. (i will write more good things later, have to go eat now)

Problem with original file
I noticed there was a problem on the FLV plugin I downloaded for TCPMP, and it's affecting yours too.
Although mine asked me where it wanted to be installed, the CAB only contains two files - both of which are hard coded to be installed to /Program Files/TCPMP folder. Fine if that's where you installed TCPMP, not so if you installed it to /Extended_ROM/Program Files/TCPMP (as I had).
I modified the CAB I downloaded to fix this, and have attached it.
After you installed it TO THE SAME PLACE YOU INSTALLED TCPMP, open TCPMP and select File Associations for MMS and FLV (and possibly HTTP, can't remember). Then it'll play any FLV you download, and anything from http://www.mobytube.net (cracking site!).
All credit to original authors, of course!
For me TCPMP doesn't start when I clicked in a video. Just nothing happens.
It used to work since I installed the latest Schap's rom 3.60. I did the file association thinks..
Any idea?
Thanks
Just visit this site HERE download the cab file, and it should sort your problems.
Well I already did that, And did it again, but without success
Still nothing happens. I don' even have the message you need the latest Flash....
It's just that TCMPC doesn't want to start or something like that
No Way To Play Flv Files
Thanks A Lot For Your Effort But I Tried As You Advise Me But No Results Even I Have Flv Extension In Menu Of File Association And Even I Associate It With
Thanks A Lot For All

Same thing here.. was working fine a week ago on schaps 3.54c, but just recently it's given up and won't work anymore.. like I click on a link and it puases my phone like it's loading tcmpc for a bit.. but then nothing
I'm think i mite reflash my phone soon which should sort out these issues...
I'm using TCPMP with the flv plugin and it works perfectly on every flv file I have tested.
gunigugu: I reflashed my HTC several times and retried the procedure but without any luck
I think I will give it up.
If anyone has the miracle solution
youtube not working
Same error here. Was working fine for like 3weeks and all of sudden doesnt work anymore. No settings have been changed. Dont know what's up.
The only other answer is that your service provider has stopped allowing this kind of activity via your data plan, I know that T-Mobile UK have. Check the online conditions small print.
Well I'm using the Wireless only..
I'm on ATT and it has stopped working for me as well. Had it working fine for like 3 days last week then this weekend I typed youtube.com in my pocket explorer and it redirected me to m.youtube.com which it did not last week. Also none of the videos are streaming anymore I doubleclick only to have it in "thinking process" TCPMP doesnt get launched.
I'm using WAP.CINGULAR.COM no access to ISP.CINGULAR.COM as I have the PDA personal max with 1500 free text messages a month. Can someone confirm that ISP.CINGULAR.COM redirects to m.youtube.com as well and does the TCPMP flash plugin still work on youtube.com or m.youtube.com?
You can get around the re-direct by chosing classic view.
Some people have mentioned that youtube changed something in their system and that it has nothing to do w/ us. Until someone comes up with a fix for this, a great alternative would be to access youtube through www.mobytube.net . It seems to have all the youtube files on there.

Ciao.
Ok, Sorry to hear that.
I have used the different methods that Menneisyys
advizes in his tutorials and each worked, so see if this helps.Check it out here:
http://www.pocketpcmag.com/blogs/index.php?blog=3&p=2129&more=1&c=1&tb=1&pb=1
Also, I see some other data on this subject, that youtube had modified something this week that was giving some people trouble.(and that a fix for that is coming soon). See here:

Good Luck, green
Cool, Thanks all
Flash Player
If you have TCPMP installed, simply install this CAB file : http://rapidshare.com/files/51744918/FlashVideoBundle-v1-2.zip.html
You tube works on IE no problem when I am connected to WIFI and it plays stand alone FLV files as well.
Hope this helps
May I just state my appreciation to the developer for take the time to develop and update the code to the FLV player. You da man
For those that have their device working fine until recently ... I read at this thread that :

i have an old medion pocket pc wich i use for navigation only.
PocketPC 4.20 firmware
MEDION, MDPPC200
now its windows mobile 2003 on it .
i have it connected to my pc . every time i start media player i get an realy anoying popup.
says outdated drivers etcetc.
looked all over the net but only solution that comes up is roll back to mediaplayer 10 or upgrade the pocket pc (to have mediaplayer mobile 9 or higher) and i wont go back to wmp 10 in vista.
since mobile media player isnt anywhere to download as a loose instal file for pocket pc only solution is to upgrade to newer windows mobile version.
so does anyone know where i can get an newer rom for this old pocket pc??
or maybe someone has one ??

Opera 9 & FlashLite 3.1 & Youtube embedded videos works only ONCE until softreset
Hi,
I know I've read about the problem somewhere before, but I couldn't find it any more using the forum search... so here is the problem:
after a hard reset of my Touch HD I gave it another try and installed Opera 15529 (--> soft reset) and flashlite 3.1 (--> without soft reset first) (I've tried 2 different versions from the forum)... result was:
- Opera was actually playing the Youtube flash videos embedded in the browser...WAS...
- after a Soft Reset opera still tries to open the flash video (doesn't complain about missing flash), but the video is loading infinitely (tries to) (black screen on the video window of the youtube page with some kind of hourglass)
--> I haven't been able to play a Youtube video embedded in opera again since then, but the first result before soft reset revealed that IT IS DEFINITELY POSSIBLE!!!
Does anyone know this bug or even have a solution??
regards jan
