I have bought a pair of faulty backpacks on ebay for my XDA IIi.
One of them is totally shot, the other kind of works but there is a bad connection on the connector that attaches to the XDA.
Does anyone have info on the pinout of this connector please?
I checked the XDA II service manual to no avail.
Hi Mr Fusion
I'm afraid not an answer but a sharing of problems - I have lost my backpack lead and can't get another. Did you find the pinout? Any ideas where I might get the connector?
Cheers
Jon
I was just looking for the pinout when I saw this post! amazing coincidence.
Anyway, I was wondering about making my own Wifi backpack, or possibly squeezing an sdio wifi card inside the case on this connector.
But, I need the pinout before I can even hope to try.
To the guy with the dead backpack, how much did you pay? want to sell it cheap to me to experiment with?
Any of you who wants the complete kit plus 1Gb compact flash pm me.

Hi
I bought a second hand xda2 with wired TT5 ...PDA is spot on with no problems,,,however I decided to put it in the car ....all going well until the TT5 informed me no GPS device....
Great ! ! ! On closer inspection I discovered the connector on the TT5 lead was a bit dodgey....I have tried to find a diagram to show me the correct wiring configuration on the connector but to no avail.
Can anyone tell me the correct connector and also the wiring configuration.. or perhaps point me iin the right direction
Colours of the wires are Red,Orange and Brown...the connector looks like a RJ11 but the size of the hole it fits in looks slightly larger....But this may be incorrect as I bought it like this Doh !! ! ! !
Thanks Tug Wilson
Hi there - I'm new to the forum.
I own an Orange SPV M1500 which I think is what you'd term a Himalaya here.
My partner bought me a great new car kit which has the typical thin xda connector port in it, but now the phone is behaving badly. The screen is wonky in several places and is not responding to taps.
My dilemma is this - Orange do not provide these phones any more and they don't provide phones with the same port connector on the bottom either.
So I either have to get rid of the cradle or somehow get another phone with this type of connector.
Does anyone know the current list of phones with this kind of connector? Or where I might be able to get hold of a replacement?
Thanks in advance.
I'm not too sure, but with most car kits you can buy replacement cradles, which i believe are relatively cheap compared to replacing the whole of the car kit, what car kit is it? perhaps a quick google search along the lines of replacement cradles might turn up something
Has anyone had any luck finding replacement parts for the Desire HD? Im mainly looking for the board that connects to the mini usb. I have seen the back antenna cover and the digitizer at certain places.

Hello, my headphone jack is broken: left earpiece doesn't work always, and it's really annoying, so i'm thinking about a hand-made replacement...
After some days of researches on google i found this: http://www.mytrendyphone.it/shop/jack-av-per-83223p.html
The only problem is that original jack is soldered to the motherboard
has anybody tried to do the same? is there any how-to?
do you think it can be done?
It would be pretty easy to do BUT looking at the motherboard, 4 of the legs are covered by a metal plate (which is used to mount the proximity/light sensors)
Don't know whether that plate can be removed or not.
