I have just got a new BMW X3 and the bluetooth works with the Headset profile, Bmw must have upgraded there bluetooth. It is pretty basic with my wifes phone Nokia 6230 caller id shows on the radio. The only functions I have are answer hang up and volume.
yeah, thts good that ur bluetooth is workin. Dont know if its because of an upgrade because we have a BMW 7 series which is 1.5 years old and the bluetooth car kit in there works a treat. Maybe it's totally different to the rest of the models.
Anyway, nice car - Beemers are wkd.

I was using this awesome little app with my TP1 and it worked great with my car audio (Pioneer - DEH-9800BT). Since I got the TP2 I've been trying to get A2DP Wireless Stereo to setup automatically when the phone is paired but doesn't seem to work. I love the new bluetooth app htc has now. it makes everything work great w/ my car auto. I'm even able to use voice command with it through the car audio/mic
My only problem is that im not able to get the A2DP Wireless Stereo to work to sync automatically.
Does anyone know if there is another app like this that woks w/ the TP2
Thanks
Just wondering if you guys can help
My touch Pro 2
Vodafone UK
ROM - 1.14.161.6 (50207)
Radio - 3.44.25.27
Protocol - 61.25t.25.19U
links to the 2009 BMW 5 series iDrive and reads the phone book I can make calls fine but if I pick up an in coming call using the iDrive controller it makes the connection but there is no sound either way.
If I press the phone answer button on an incoming call then it works perfectly.
It does not do this all the time but its more like 90% can't hear and 10% works fine.
I contacted HTC who said that the phone matches the bluetooth profiles and it should be fine BMW have not got back to me yet (4 weeks so far)
this also happens to some one else I work with and his touch pro 2 on his 2005 BMW with the older iDrive and built in BMW Phoneprep.
another guy with an Audi has no issues at all. I also contacted Bury who make the Uni-System 8 car kits about when they were going to do a cradle for the TP2 and I was informed that they were not planning it at present, I asked why and they said "HTC's bluetooth was flakey"
I put the hard SPL on the phone and upped it to the latest HTC build
ROM - 1.19.707.2 (51489)
Radio - 3.44.25.27
Protocol - 61.25t.25.19U
but have put it back to the Warranty status as it did not make any difference
Any help appreciated
I know Parrto is a different BT HFBTP but I had all kinds of flakey problems until I updated to the latest Radio in the TP2 and upgraded to the latest firmware for the Parrot CK3100 Car Unit.
Try an update to your iDrive system.
More car kit problems
I'm really disappointed by the bluetooth in the TP2. Having just upgraded from a Snap which worked perfectly with all my attachments, the TP2 is a disaster with the car kit in my (new) Volvo. (A bit like the BMW story at the head of the thread.) Won't connect to my TomTom sat nav. Almost works with my Parrot (upgraded as recommended above). Not what you expect from a 'top of the range' piece of kit from htc. I hope there will be a patch for the BT stack. In the meantime I have to revert to my Snap for car journeys. Bizarre.
This happened to me:
If I donĀ“t set up a data connection to my carrier, the link to my bluetooth car kit works perfectly, meaning that I can answer calls and hang up using the button on the steering wheel.
Once I set up a data connection, I can only answer and hangup using the buttons on the telephone. In any case I can listen and talk using the car kit.
TP2
The same issue here. My TP2 won't connect properly to my Volvo V70 2009 BT Car kit. It is connecting and synchronizing but then it won't make call's. (sometimes it suddenly does work). My phone is getting really slow. And somethine the connection fall's away during a conversation. Even when i shut down all data connections on my phone it behaves as mentioned here above. HTC and Volvo just point at each other and a solution seems far away. Yes. I did the firmware upgrades on both sides. At this time i would not recommend the HTC TP2 as a business phone. My collegues have similar issues with other car brands.
Volvo V70 2009 - Firmware November 2009
HTC Touch pro 2 - WM 6.5 UK (and a dutch vodafone office account)
Anyone with a solution? Suggestions? thnx.
My TP2 (unbranded) was working fine until I updated it to WM6.5 (an official release). Now, there are no issues when it gets paired with my son's Mitsubishi Lancer but it refuses to work correctly with my Audi A4. It picks a call but stays silent until charger is connected. Disconnecting of charger "fixes" the situation so I start hearing a call.
Bluetooth wasn't working for me either. Pairing went fine, answering worked, but no sound at all... I followed instructions on this page: http://www.everythingwm.com/forum/moto-q-9c/q9c-and-infiniti-g35x-bluetooth-problem-16833-4.html and now everything works as expected. I'm driving a Renault Espace with a built-in stereo/gps/carkit.
i bought a car kit MP3 player for my car. I paired it with my TP2 and enabled the "BT Audio" and "BT Handsfree". Outgoing calls work fine with no problems at all. But during incoming calls there is a problem. If the incoming call is from someone saved in my contacts, the BT carkit does not ring. If its from an unknown number (not saved in my contacts), it works perfectly. I tried all the tweaks and hacks in this forum but nothing worked. Anymore ideas.
Hello,
I've had my Tilt2 for 2 months now and am ready to get a headset. After many searches I can't find a definitive list of headsets that are working/ not working correctly.
I'm using a stock ROM and have the Tilt2 2 tweaked to 43% memory usage on boot-up. The phone is fast and everything works correctly. Also using SPB mobile Shell.
Has anyone tied in the Bluetooth 2.1 vs 2.0 headsets with correct operation? I want the voice command, audio passthrough, and buttons to work correctly.
Maybe we can start a list of Phone - ROM version - Headset - Whats working/not working.
I'm mainly concerned with the stock ROM but any info may assist others.
Thanks
Jim O
Well, I have the Jawbone Prime & Motorola HX-1 and both work fine.
Motorola H710 works fine as well.
Thanks for the info. Does the voice command work for making calls and you can also hear music files and audio from websites?
Thanks Jim O
Surely more folks can contribute to a good list. Lets get some more response going. This could be of great benefit to one and all.
Thanks!!!!!
Samsung WEP 850 with voice command works just fine.
The Sony DRBT100CX stereo bluetooth earbuds also work very well with the Tilt 2. All A2DP/AVRC audio and handsfree calling functions are supported. Nice bargain at $50 as well.
Yes, but...
... has anyone found a BT headset that announces the incoming caller ID over it instead of the phone's speaker?
I've tried a couple of older as well as one new BT headset. All pair and work flawlessly with my Tilt 2, but none of them will announce the incoming caller ID over the headset as it did with my original Tilt.
Yeh, I'm pretty sure this was a screwup in the Widcomm BT stack but just want to make sure. FYI, HTC tech support states that none of their phones do this! When I asked 'em why the old Tilts did, I didn't get any more response.
Well, I picked up a new Motorola H17 12/30/09. Everything works as advertised, except the incoming caller announcement (on phone announcement only). This headset was released only a couple months ago with the latest Bluetooth 2.1 and all the other amenities so this problem does seem to be a problem with the stack.
On a side note, this headset works great. Get ALL phone sounds transferred and also volume control on both the phone and headset. Works great with streaming video/audio. And it is loud, usually have it set to mid volume. Also, I bought it from an AT&T store ($80) and he stated that if anything goes wrong with it for 1 year just bring it in and he will replacement.

I have the Jabra HALO and works wonderfully well with my TP2, running Win6.5

The manager @ my local AT&T store has a Tilt 2 using a Blue Ant Q1 bluetooth & he says that his BT does all these things. I just ordered one so I will let you know when I get it. FYI he was using a Jawbone prior to the Q1.

I got my Blue Ant Q1 and it does announce the incoming calls over the blue tooth & your text messages, e-mail, reminders, your music- I like it. If you turn "announce incoming call off" in voice command it will not announce them over the speaker on the phone. I bought mine off e-bay for $48.99.
I don't know if this is the correct board, but here it goes..
I just bought Nokia BH-111 (http://nokia.ly/ACiqj6) bluetooth stereo headset and I can't pair it with my Omnia 7. Works fine with Nokia 5230 phone, so it's not a problem with the headset. The phone does not even detect the headset, it keeps showing "searching" and nothing happens.
This is what nokia product page says about compatibility:
"All phones, music players and other devices that support Bluetooth v. 2.1 + EDR, Handsfree Profile 1.5 and Headset Profile 1.0"
This microsoft support article ( http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2449475 ) has this to say abozt supported profiles:
Advanced Audio Distribution Profile (A2DP 1.2)
Audio/Video Remote Control Profile (AVRCP 1.3)
Hands Free Profile (HFP 1.5)
Headset Profile (HSP 1.1)
Phone Book Access Profile (PBAP 1.1)
+ v2.1 with EDR
So as you can see, WP supports EVERY one of those profiles and standards. What's the problem than?
Does your Omnia find other devices?
Omnias are notoriously bad for having faulty Bluetooth. My first one stopped working properly. Replacement is fine.
In the Omnia 7 section there are quite a few people who've reported it.
Thanks for the reply.
It seems that the issue is with WIFI and Bluetooth working together. After i turned wifi off, Omnia was able to find the headset. The playback is a little patchy, and rewind/fast forward does not work. Is this a reason enough to ask for a replacement? Does the warranty cover it?
EDIT: sorry i posted here, i thought it was WP software related, plus Omnia boards are almost empty.
Hi, I hope you guys can help.
I'm looking at buying a Galaxy Note II in the next few days however I've just noticed that, according to Parrot's compatibility list, it doesn't work (or hasn't been tested) with their MKi range of bluetooth hands-free car kits. Now, every other Android phone I've tried has worked fine with it, but I'm a bit worried that it's not listed.
Do any of you guys have this working with either a Parrot MKi 9000, 9100 or 9200? If so, are there any limitations I should know about? This is mainly for bluetooth audio and making calls.
Kind Regards,
Kona.
Yes it works flawlessly.. no issues.....
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda app-developers app
My wife's minivan has a Parrot MKi9000 and the Note2 pairs and performs call operations perfectly with it. Cant confirm music streaming as she doesn't let me do that....
(but it works great in my Kia Ceed!)
