Hi there all,
I would like to get peoples thoughts on a repair i had done to the phone.
Yesterday i dropped my Desire and the screen cracked, also had the card reader repaired. The cost was $165 but i want to know if they should of replaced the casing as well or is it common practice to just replace the screen.
Thanks
They only replace the screen not the casing.

Hi, yesterday I had an accident when I was dashed by a car while I was riding on my bike. I fell down and my Vibrant was in my pocket and the screen broke.
Now the screen has all weird lines and colorful dots with cracks and scratches. I need a replacement screen for Vibrant T959. Where can I buy one?
I live in Mumbai, India and the Samsung Repair Center in Mumbai said they do not have the screen for T959 as its not manufactured/sold in India. Can someone tell me whats my next best option?
I think I will be able to replace the screen on my own once I get a new screen.
Please help,
Regards,
Dinesh.
I think new screen is difficult to install so try to buy another vibrant an then put your motherboard in it an your good

You can try to find a replacement one in eBay, but I don't know if a Samsung Center would do the service of replacing it for you, since it's an import... my Vibrant cracked and it remains cracked because of that.
Contact me if you can
Dude, I went from the same condition that you are going through. No shop in India has the replacement. I had a Captivate and i repaired it for myself. It's pretty easy actually coz even I was a first timer.
I can PM my number to you if you want.
Happy Diwali btw
I've got a cracked screen but the digitizer works fine. I noticed Amazon and eBay sell replacement screens but two local repair shops told me it's virtually impossible to replace the screen without damaging the phone so I they recommneded buying the screen and digitizer.
1) Does this sound right? If not, can anyone recommend a repair person/shop in Boston?
2) If they are right, can you recommend a place to buy the screen and digitizer that won't cost an arm and a leg.
Thanks
You'll never get the screen off without damaging the digitizer.
I have no idea the best place to get a replacement screen digitizer combo
Sorry I could only answer half your question

Hello all,
A few hours back i cracked my note 2's screen as i fell from the stairs.
Can someone tell me the exact price in INR for its replacement? The touch works fine. Thanks :'(
I need to get it done tomorrow.
From what ive researched and I havent done alot... its about £130 for the glass + digitzer...
You cant just replace the glass as the digitzer is glued to the screen.
My advice... claim insurance if you have it covered

well you absolutely can change the screen without the Digitizer. I watched a friend change his cracked screen following a YouTube video.. it costed him 9 $ from aliexpress.. a cheap chinese website

Well, I got mine replaced at a Samsung Service Center in Bangalore, India a fortnight ago. Samsung charged me 6,850 INR (around 115 USD) for it. One thing to remember is that they replace the glass and the digitizer as well.
Call up a service center nearest to you, and check with them if they have the digitizer+glass with them. I was lucky as the one they used on my phone was the last one in their inventory, and they fixed it in 2 hours. If they don't, it takes a day or two for them to get the screen (digitizer and the glass) from Samsung.
I had cracked my old HTC Incredible S's screen too. But Note II's screen seems a lot more fragile than the HTC's, and I never bothered about fixing it myself: it is a difficult thing to get these parts in India, and to get genuine parts in good condtion (the courier/shipping folks are very adept at breaking even an mp3 player's screen!) is almost next to impossible.
Good luck!

Glad you did from Service center ,
It Cos-ted 6,400 for replacing the Glass and Digitizer where in the service center don't have the option to replace only glass they denied to change only glass as only glass was cracked but functionality was perfect so had to change both from BANGALORE SERVICE CENTER.

The service center folks get the complete set (digitizer and the glass) from Samsung when they place an order for a screen. I guess it is Samsung's way of getting a little extra from its customers. And it was the same with HTC as well.
I have dropped my phone.Phone's screen has been broken. But touchscreen is working. There are several replacement parts.''LCD'', ''frame'', ''touch screen digitizer''. Which one do i need to buy? Only the 'touch screen digitizer' is enough? (please answer in intermediate english level)
Welcome to the family..
Dear this is nothing I broke my 2 touch screen digitizer in last 1 weeks.
As I first purchased a digitizer and contacted a very good and reputed repair person from my city he tried the repair and successfully replaced my digitizer but unlucky me it didn't worked at all as he already warned me before doing the repair that the fixing of display and digitizer is very close and it might will not work and I would have to replace full panel in this case. But I took the risk and told him to have a try but no luck. He advised me to go to the service centre and get the whole panel repair there and I had to do that but my luck is not good with this phone just after two days of repair I broke it again.
This is my experience with the digitizer I'm not sure whether there are anyone in this forum who successfully managed to repair the digitizer.
Hard luck mate.
