microsoft voice command - Upgrading, Modifying and Unlocking

is anyone know where can i buy the program in uk i did try in handango but they said not for sell in this country.thanks

It is not posible outside EEUU, I asked handandgo by email and answer it was forbiden by Microsoft.
Try Fonix software it works really well.
www.fonix.com
Cheers

If you have an XDAII, then you can get a fully working version of it with the official o2 UK 1.72 upgrade. I don't use it very much as I always feel an idiot saying the name, then normally having to confirm it before dialing, when I can just as easily go into speed dial or call history etc.
However, when I have used it it works a treat.
Cheers
Anthony

I use Fonix in the car all the time and its works great for me.
I found that Voice command recognised the contact I wanted 95% of the time, but then didn't recognise me saying 'yes' to confirm it.

In my case, Fonix does not always recognize my 'NO' command... :S
But still it's a great contender for MS VC....
By the way, is there a way to avoid Fonix to change my microphone AGC setting? It always changes it to AGC OFF, thus the recognition gets affected drastically, however when AGC is ON I get 98% success rate!
TIA,
Rayan

what version of Fonix voice dial are you using. I used the first version with my XDA1, this worked wonderfully.
I have found that the 2.0 version doesn't have a UK voice (the us ones are a bit odd). In addition i have noted the recognition does seem poor and it doesn't repeat the contact, just says "your contact"!!
Any ideas / help always welcome!

voice commands
hi,
you don 't really have to buy this software, you can download it probabely from following site: www.suprnova.org

I'm using the latest version (2.0)...
The weird thing is that it does not always change the AGC Setting...
I have not found a pattern, it seems more like random...

Static/clicking sounds on New Microsoft Voice Cmd Ver.1.5

Does anyone have Microsoft voice command version 1.5? And if you do, with the incoming caller announcement enabled, do you get a static clicking sound on your phone device when you get and incoming phone call? I am using a XDA IIs and have this issue. Is there a work around for this issue? Any help would be greatly appreaciated.
Thanks,
Mike
I too have the problem of sound stuttering.
I've never installed any version of voice command.
Al applications playing sound, like media player or any other music player and even the spoken words from TomTom seem to suffer from this.
Since all WAV/MP3 audio seems te suffer from this I gather it must be a CODEC issue of some sort, probably caused by installing some application that has overwritten system files.
Does anybody know a way to solve this ?
It does not seem to occur after a hard reset, I havent tried reinstalling applications one by one to find the culprit, I just restored a Sprite backup.
Yes, I've got the same problem... I just upgraded to VC1.5, and the clicking is only on the announcement of incoming calls... all else seems fine.
Treo
same here with my pda2k.
I have the same issue.
To solve that, Just disable this function.
Tap at start >setting >personal >voice command
at Phone option disable "Announce incoming calls"
I think version 1.5 has so many option that you can select more that the old one.
Voice command over bluetooth is still not work.
I'm afraid this is a more general problem (see earlier threads). There are also problems with WM10 and GPS. I've found that WM10 is OK when No other programm is running. GPS is a larger programm and continues to give voice problems. Maybe the problem can be solved if we could increase the working memory. Who has a suggestion?
I know un checking that option will fix the issue but then I can't use it. So it does not solve the issue. LOL so if anyone does know a way to make the audio a higher priority or something to make it work please let me know.
Thanks,
Mike
Fixed it, you have to use resco and change audio priority in settings to 110 in registry. Works like a charm now.
MIke
Hi Mikee4fun,
Could you be more specific about which key/value/data in registry that you changed to fix this?
Thanks in forehand!

Can you share the registry entry that needs to be changed?
Ditto, I'd like to know too please cos I've got the same problem.
Own an XDAIIs and use Microsoft Voice Command 1.5 with the stuttery incoming call announcements. Everything else works flawlessly.
Is Microsoft Voice Command the dogs b*ll*cks when it comes to voice recognition! It's the most accurate voice recognition system I've come across. Well done Microsoft, you've made something that works well (for a change ) , apart from stuttery voice announcements of course.
anybody experiencing about 1 to 2 second lag before the ringtone actually rings when you have incoming calls with announce incoming call enabled?
I'm having voice command installed on my Storage area of my Xda ii mini. I'm wondering if that's the reason why it lags?
Here is the exact registry entry
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\BuiltIn\WaveDev\Priority256
A detailed thread is here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?p=107031#107031
Well I just noticed this static noise while announcing the name with MVC or playing any other audio on the Blue angel only, I tried it on the hima it works flawlessly it never occured
VC 1.5 static problems
 yup just tried the fix with resco registry editor and all is fine
thx for the info
just another reason why this site is so good imo

Voip package available?

I'm not sure but I read through these threads:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=299950&highlight=voip
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=303493&highlight=voip
Is there a seperate WM6 VOIP cab available somewhere? I don't see the suggested files, so I assume that I don't have it on my WWE WM6 rom.
Try search for VOIP...or look through todays postings for the same question:

Well, as you may have noticed I've found those threads, but I saw that the most of the thread is regarding HERMES.
I was wondering if anyone with an Artemis has been able to turn on VOIP (native voip)
I did manage to install the package as mentioned in the threads above, as well as put in the right config files. Also, the "Internet Calling: Available" today plugin is correctly displayed. However, I cannot switch dial pads and I don't get the correct status (connected).
Same problem here
Setup was done with Sip Config Tool 2.0.1
The plugin is configured : "Always, if available"
When connected by wlan or activesync the plugin displays : "Kein Empfang"
Disconnected from network displays : "Available"
Hopefully someone can help me
Guys I've got it working just fine on an xda orbit. There does seem to be a little bug though and that is when it's says "Searching" and "Available" on the today screen. Available actually means searching and searching means available
When searching is displayed, click on it in the today screen and you might notice a slight change in the signal which means it has switched to voip rather than gsm. Go to the phone screen and you'll see that the network has changed to your voip provider and any call you make will be routed through them.
I have downloaded sjphone yesterday and configured it to use my sip voip provider and it works brilliantly. The sound quality in sjphone is absolutely brilliant compared to the native voip, you should try it.
Finally it's working...
I tried to deinstall the plugin and after prompting an error it worked
The homescreen plug signals "searching" but as you said before it means "availabe". There are still a couple of things:
1) no incomming calls... i can't find the stun settings
2) +4930xxxxxx format doesn't work, i've to type 030xxxx
3) doesn't work after standby
Which version of sjphone are you using? There seems to be nothing available for wm 6
Hi BlueD,
I'm glad it's working for you. I tested incoming calls and that worked nicely as well without configuring any stun. The voip I used were sipgate and callcentric.
There's a post somewhere on one of the big voip threads and the guys managed to customize the dialing plans so that you can dial without using the international format. Do a quick search on voip dialing plan and you should find it somewhere.
Well obviously it doesn't cause the wifi disconnects, hence making it only useful for dialing out rather than receiving calls, except ofcourse if you want to leave the device on all the time, but that's not a very feasible solution.
The sjphone I downloaded was the one for v.1.60.303c Pocket PC 2003SE, it works nicely with excellent call quality. I also think you don't really need native voip capabilities to run that, which makes me think we could have had this on WM5 hmmm...
OK.. just fyi - i got a little bit more success in using the native VOIP solution. I had to flash from the WWE 6 to the BnB 2 ROM, then install the VOIP.cab and SipConfigTool. Now i can receive calls, but cannot place any... not sure why. Also, when i receive a call the sound is CRAP.. probably some codec issue here.
What type of internet connection have you?
Have you open ports on your router necessary for SIP, inbound and out?

Yep I did. I got this confirmed by testing it with a softphone on my PC, which works great (same voip provider etc).

Is'nt it supposed to first be a phone ?

Hi guys,
I can't make calls by Voice Dialing with this phone.
I tried the voice dialer available in froyo, but even though the settings are offering "french", it works only with english sentences, and it requires confirmation on the screen.
Is it me or something is going wrong with that android stuff ?
thx.
You mean you can't dial someone and call them? Or that voice dialing doesn't work?

i think he means he cant call someone hands free, because voice dialer wont understand his french, and when he gets it to work in english it requires confirmation on the screen
exactly what I meant !
To answer your question - it is a phone. You can dial and make a call on it.
The issue you have is voice dialing, which isn't a feature every phone has and so isn't something the category of 'phone' comes under. The issue you've got is down to Google, even English UK isn't recognised properly...they'll sort it eventually
Here in Canada like in many other countries, it is prohibited to drive car and use a cell phone without an hands-free device, all the phones I used in the last 6-7 years were having full hands-free support .....
But not all phones have voice dialing. You'd still need to 'dial' to get a call, even though you have a hands-free kit of bluetooth headset.
It's illegal in the UK to use a phone whilst driving but I still do (if I absolutely have to, which is rare)
My previous phone, an LG8700 was doing that very well, completly hands-free with my bluettoth headset, and it was not a "smart-phone" ;-)

And you drive through red lights if "absolutely have to" ?
hi hi hi
bottom line, it does not make sense to me that a supposed "smart phone" not being able to do something "dumb phones" have been able to do for a decade !!!
Things could be simpler if there was a green "Call" button on Desire...
MrUsta:
If you want these buttons aim for WM or LG.
demercie:
Dumb phones don't have 1ghz processors so they recognize it much worser. And most of them can't connect to 3g, and none of them enhances voice detection through 3g.
And because you really need this function try finding older versions of the app and appeal on Google to fix this issue. No worries if it's not fixed in a month there's gotta be some bloody big problem.
Dany0,
To make a voice call, you need to press a button to activate the voice call. A dedicated "call" button could help here. For example, I have a trouble to initiate a voice call in a car using Parrot handsfree car kit (no proble to accept incoming calls though).

[Q] voip sip prgrm for hd mini?

hi everyone,
does anybody know a working voip sip program for htc hd mini?
i've tried without success:
adoresoftphone
SJphone
fring
and sip confg tool - which I manage to make an outgoing call of which I could hear the other side but they only heard digital noises - and the phone got frozen without the ability to make another regular call.
I also tried gizmo5 - which works great on my pc, but I cant config it to do the same on my phone.
that's it I think,
help?
Havent tried voip, but although there is no support anymore, doesnt Skype work? You can still download the WinMo version through the unofficial sites...
what is the winmo version?

skype ofcourse works, but i'm talking about using a different sip provider, with user and pass and server.
what is the winmo version?
as I wrote before I used the operating system option for internet calling - which was only partialy successful, since I managed to make the call, but my voice was distorted.
PORTGO (PortSIP for CE)
Try this, it work for my HD MINI
i tried wm6voip + sipconfig, managed to get it work (at least to call a mobile phone in france from a low speed wifi hotspot in china) but the sound was not very good.
i need to try in better conditions to have an opinion, but it is not very convenient (have to disable HTC Sense to enable/disable internet calls via SIP)
thanks i will try portgo and let you know
i just downloaded the soft here:
w w w .portsip.com/wm-softphone.htm
after installation, it executes, but big slow down (lag) and some parameters makes the phone freeze, i had to reboot!
i have to test it anyway, but another issue is, seems you have to build a new contact list, it does not take the ones from Windows Mobile...
let's see
no incoming audio

Voice Dialing over Bluetooth?

I haven't seen this mentioned but has anybody been able to use a BT headset to make, receive, and control calls? I can't. I get "this feature isn't supported on the connected phone" from my Blueant Q2. I know this was an issue with the Sensation and tried installing the voicedialer.apk but the phone won't allow it to be installed. I installed Vlingo but it crashes the phone and I have to do a reset to get it back. Thoughts? Experiences?
Update. We're apparently screwed. There's no native voice dialer included in ICS. I found one that installs but it loses its connection with the headset as soon as it starts. The folks on the Vivid forum are having the same issue. I tried the apps they discussed but they didn't work either. So I guess we wait for HTC to do something.

Yes... ish
I posted the same question a few days ago, but I got no reply, so I bought the phone anyway and tried. Vlingo sort of works with my jawbone earpiece. What I do not like at all is the fact that it does not confirm the command before dialling, or at least I did not figure out how to set it up properly, with the result of dialing the wrong contact in case of a misunderstanding.
I am really missing the simplicity of the blackberry voice dialler, amongst other things (mostly due, I guess, to my being a newbie with android). It was a no-brainer, whilst all the solutions I have seen for android are slightly more cumbersome.
Thanks to the other thread you linked I think I am going to try cyberon voice commander. I could save a couple of dollars/euros buying their voice dialler, but as far as I can see it needs training to attach voice tags to contacts. I don't like the idea of spending time to do that.
This seems like such a basic feature these days, why the hell hasn't it got it?!!!
this is very disappointing news. all the reviews i looked at mentioned voice dialing as a feature. and i just ordered a blueant q2. just tried using voice dial on my phone menu. awful.
i found a retail site online that says the blueant q2 is not compatible with the htc one x and identified several other bluetooth items (including blueant) that are. i decided to try the jawbone era and have it on order. not as many desirable (to me) features as the q2, but if it works, it will be a step up from nothing.
online site is htcpediadotcom. i don't know how reliable it is; first time i've looked at it.
I only just noticed yesterday that the phone would not send the bluetooth connection to the head unit in my car, even though it was connected to it.
I had to use the phones loudspeaker....
All of the Android phones in the past 2 years have worked fine!
