Can't flash XDA with SD Card. - Upgrading, Modifying and Unlocking

I'm using an ATT Siemens SX56. I went to http://lumpistefan.dyndns.org/ and cooked the new Siemens ROM image (NK.nb1). I burned the image on a 256MB PNY SD Card. I reset the XDA but the flash doesnt start. All it asked me was if I want to format the card or not. I even tried to hard-reset it, but still no luck.
I'm presently using a T-Mobile WM2003 Beta
4.0021
RA.33.02

I would say, you have the wrong bootloader on your device.
Try the fix bootloader option from the XDA Tools....

SX56: Unlocked 2 from AT&T. 1 from T-mobile won't let me

Hi!
Well i'm new in this forum. Thanks to the ones who are viewing this.
This is what happened:
I brought 3 Siemens SX56 from the US. 2 locked to AT&T (windows 2002 installed), one locked to T-mobile (windows 2003 installed).
As the bootloader was originally 5.22 for the three of them, I did the typical unlock supplied by XDA DEVELOPERS (replacing the original flash with the XDADEV flash and running xdaunlock.exe)
That worked fine with both AT&T units which are already unlocked.
However the T-mobile one refuses to give me the unlock codes when i open xdaunlock.exe (error getting unlocked codes)
For what i've been reading, this is most likely because win2003 was installed in this one and i heard it's harder to unlock. But that's just what i heard.
Could anyone help me unlocking it?
I really appreciate!
Thanks!
Nicolas.
Ps: you can contact me to [email protected]
:x hi, thanks for xda unlocking software. i can't seem to unlock me xda II. i have the new XDA 2i.
Read:4, ooFF ( o meaning square)
Failed to do magic
search this forum for steps on downgrading ur rom to 2002 or even better is to just load the XDA-Developer rom onto it and it'll unlock it. then after that switch back to your original rom
remember to use xda tools to backup ur original rom on ur computer first!

Thanks a lot for your response
I already did that. I downloaded the roms from the at&t sx56 and loaded from sd card. The reason i did this is because the xda developers rom wouldn't let me run the upgrade with ppc2003 on it (a usb connection error was displayed)
I installed the 2002 ppc software and after that, i upgraded directly via ActiveSync.
Still i could not get the unlock codes (same error: error getting unlock code).
That's why i need help. Thanks!
interesting havent heard that one before.. have you tried downgrading to another t-mobile 2002 rom and then after that installed xdadev rom? or maybe downgrade the bootloader?
hi
i have same problem as nikoleman
i have a T-mobile pocket pc (i think it is WM2003 beta)
Pw10b1
rom version:4.00.16 ENG T-Mobile
with wallably 5.22 bootloader
i downgrade the bootloader to 5.15 and
the rom to 3.17.03 ENG cooked in kitchen
now infrared is not working and still get error getting unlock code
any help plz
yep
in fact that's the only way it would let me do it.
I backuped rom from the at&t ones and writed it to the t mobile. Then upgraded to XDA DEV special edition and it still throws me the "error getting unlock code" error.
Do you know why might this be?

Sim unlock problems

I have an SPV M5000 on orange and want to stick a t-mobile sim into it. But I downloaded the unlock software and removed my sim put it into bootloader and did the radio update. It does indeed come back with 0.0.0.
I then copied the unlocker file to my device in personal folder enabled radio and ran it from filemanager, when the sucess screen came up i clicked ok and then soft reset the device and let it boot. then i removed the battery and put my t-mobile sim in. But on re-boot it just keeps saying invalid or no sim on the phone screen. The current ROM on the device is windows mobile 5 orange do i need to change that first ???

Treo 750 Cingular/ATT

Hi All,
I have 2 treo's one unlocked and the other is not. I have installed windows mobile 6.5 which is pretty cool but I don't know how to enter in my unlock code on the locked treo using windows mobile 6.5. with previous versions 6.1 it prompted me when I installed a TMOBILE sim card which 6.5 does not.
I want to just downgrade it to 5.0,6.0 or 6.1 but I can't find a way to do that. I thought I found a good version of 6.0 in the cheeimg.nbg using the minisd method; formatted sd card fat32, put just that file "cheeimg.nbg" on the sim and reset holding the PTT button - it goes into a screen that says loading... and goes no further. I found a different version of the windows mobile and tried the same this time it went to the loading then to the booloader screen (multicolored) and then nothing.
All the links for Windows Mobile software for this phone links are dead so I'm stuck.
Could anyone point me to a good download link for any version of WM5,6, or 6.1 and tell me how to downgrade? I'm not that good with all of this so a step by step would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks again for anyone who can help me.

[Q] Can't read SIM-cards | Galaxy Nexus

Hi, I'v just got a Galaxy nexus and after a week with it sittin withiut a sim in the shelf (rewieving Xpera S) I put the SIM-card back in today. But it can't seem to read the simcard, I'v tried resetting, cleaning the simcard and have taken it out and tried again some times now.
The phone is running stock, and is not rooted, and it's a Unlocked GSM device.
Anyone who knows what I should do? Is there anything I could do?

Since you've tried a lot of methods of working with the current SIM, the only other idea which comes to mind would be to perform a factory reset on the galaxy nexus. Perhaps a setting became corrupt along the way. Wiping /data and /cache would be very similar to a factory reset and shouldn't take too long to test if that resolves the issue.
Otherwise, perhaps trying another SIM card in the device before resetting might help confirm if there is an issue with that specific SIM card and the Galaxy Nexus, or if there is an issue with all SIM cards.
Hope that helps add a few more ideas to test!
Galaxy Nexus can't read SIM card
I'm facing a similiar problem but I can't find a solution. Anyone may help me, please?
I bought my GN in France (GSM version) and it was unlocked to SFR, Orange and Bouygues but my carrier is Free Mobile. Trying unlock to the carrier I tried to unlock, root and download a ROM using Galaxy Nexus Root Toolkit 1.3 and I probably did some mistake... Every time that I start my mobile it is asked the PIN code (not the carrier code!) but when I type the correct code it always shows the message "incorrect pin code". I've put this SIM card in another Mobile and it works, so the SIM card is not blocked...
I downloaded an oficial version from google and I used Galaxy Nexus Root Toolkit 1.3 to download boot.img, recovery.img, system.img and userdata.img in order to try to "restore" the original version. The download apparently was ok, but the problem continues...
The process using the option "flash stock + Unroot" and after "OEM Lock" (in GN Root Toolkit 1.3) works but the message "incorrect pin code" continues.
Any clue to solve this? Thanks a lot for helping!

[Q] NO SIM issue after upgrade

Hi guys,
I got a Samsung T989 T-Mobile yesterday with stock Gingerbread Rom, i flashed recovery cwm and rooted the phone.
I flashed a 4.1.2 rom, everything was working good except that the phone doesn't detect my sim card.
I Flashed various roms and various modems, restocked to 2.3.6 and 2.3.5 still having the same issue.
I also tryed some tested sim cards and still no sim detected.
I don't even know wich baseband came with my GB version, is there a way to find the good stock rom ?
Radio tryed :
UVLI1
UVKL1
UVKID
UVMC6
UVLDE
UVLE1
UVLI4
UVLH1
Any idea ?
Today i made an upgrade from kies to 4.1.2 UVMC6, still same probleme.
Is it a hardware probleme ?
Little up guys ! i flashed all supported firmwares on sammobile, none of them get the sim to work.
I am not sure if this will help you, but I had some phone not recognizing SIM type problems too, and the problem was if the SIM card was not in the exact right spot the phone would not recognize it. So I would try to scoot the SIM to one side of the slot or the other and that fixed it. Also if I dropped the phone it would say "SIM card removed" "restart device" and I would have to reposition the SIM card. I hope I helped someone
