I'm recent member of this forum and I would like, in my first post, to congratulate everybody involved for the high quality of the information provided.
The reason of my post is simple, I've recently purchased a T-Mobile MDAII in Germany and I would like to change it for English.
Rom version: 1.60.00 GER
Rom date: 12/03/03
Radio version: 1.06.01
Protocol: 1 337.16
Ext Rom version: 1.60.07
I appreciate if anybody out there could give some simple directions from where should I start. I have seem that there are a lot of upgrades with different features however for now I would like to start slowly, if possible.

I found so many topics of ROM, Extended ROM, and other upgrades. But truely, after searching for last one week, I click one download, and later on next posts I found another link, so I really dont know what,where,and why to upgrade!!!
May I ask Senior guys to tell me all the links, I need to upgrade, and make my PPC happy.

I heave read several times the ROM upgrading problems (http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=BlueangelFAQ) but till now I don’t heave any higher Rom version.
Can somebody please help me out?

I have an English QTEC from Vodafone - ROM details as below:

ROM date: 09/29/05
Radio version: 1.04.10
Protocol Version: 42.37.P8
ExtROM Version: 1.13.189 WWE
I also have a German QTEC from Vodafone - ROM details as below:
ROM version: 1.13.56 GER
ROM date: 09/28/05
Radio version: 1.04.10
Protocol Version: 42.37.P8
ExtROM Version: 1.13.163 GER
I know that there have been posts that have been close to this in the forum, and this is my first post, and lastly while I am technical I am not overly technical - so I apologise if I am asking something that has been asked before - I have looked at other posts and still need some advice from you all really.
So my questions are as follows:
1) Can I get the German QTEC from Vodafone converted so it is the same as my English QTEC from Vodafone
2) What is the diffference between the ROM and the Extended ROM - it looks like the extended ROM holds the Vodafone specific stuff but is that right ?
3) I was looking at the WIKI and trying to understand the various upgrades - I really didnt want to post another trail - I pulled off the executable "UNI_QTEK_13077_176_10900_WWE_Ship.exe" and started to run it against the German QTEC thinking this could upgrade the main ROM but it stopped almost immediately with a 120 error because of the Country code. Am I just not understanding the way these ROMs work and need to be flashed?

Just to let you guys know I managed to get the QTEC converted over to English. All working great - only thing that I need to do now is to be able to get past the SIMLOCK.
Any ideas here ? I still have the original German IMEI number which is on the box.....

I have a qtek 9000 and I want to update my rom/ruu to the latest and I have searched and downloaded from different ftp sites, but none of the programs I have tried worked so far and I have no clue of which one is the right one for my device.
I have currently these informatons:
At start it says: Imate
Rom version: 1.30.68 WWE
Rom date: 02/08/06
Radio version: 1.09.00
Protocol verion: 42.42.p8
ExtRom version: 1.30.153 WWE
Language english (before it was german, but someone changed it for me)
I think the file name that I need is something called "prodigy" or something.
I would really appreciate it, if someone could help me and at the same time maybe describe to me how and what I should do.

I just got a new htc p3300 as a Present but unfortunately it is a French version and I do not understand any word in French. I will like to have either an English Rom or a German Rom. The PDA was bought from an electronic dealer and not from a mobile phone company so it is open and I can use any SIM card.
The necessary Information are as follows:
The version of the ROM: 1.14.406.1 FRE
Date of ROM: 9/27/06
Radio version: 02.67.90
Protocol version: 4.1.13.28
ROM extension version: 1.14.406.101
Please can someone direct me on how to flash it and have English or German ROM. I have read a lot of articles on various forums but the more I read the more I get confused and uncertain.
I appreciate all positive contributions as I am totally new in this forum and its just my first time of having a PDA.
Can someone save me from this dilemma.
