I upgraded...so I thought to this version...
Rom Version 4.01.16 eng
Rom Date 02/04/01
Radio Version 4.21.00
Protocol version 32s54 now I cant get into bootloader, cant use the phone, or internet on my SX-56...nor can I boot by flashing....What Have I done wrong should I just use it as a paper weight? Remeber If I press the power button and soft reset to just goes back to the Tmobile screen an continue to boot as a normal AAlt-Ctrl-del
Have you carried out hard reset? Push once in the hole below headphone socket, wait one minute, push once more? I think that radio stack is for europe.
tried that too

Hi folks,
I've spent a few hours reading various posts on here, however there are a few things that are just baffling me..
Firstly, I'm running the M5000 with the latest Orange Update;
r: 1.03.00
g: 42.36.p8
d: 1.30.90 wwe
From what I've read, and attempted to understand...
r = Radio Rom Version - I should try 1.09.00 shouldn't I?
g = ??? What is this ???
d = Extended Rom Version - The iMate ROM seems to be an older version?
When I try and update to the iMate ROM (I've made the change to the RUU.conf file, downloaded the MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe file) I get the notification about what versions I'm going from-to, the device reboots and I get an "error 101". I've tried (AND FAILED) to get the sodding thing into "bootloader mode". I'm pressing Power, Light and pushing the reset button, but nothing happens (other than a reboot).
Should I even be using a different ROM?
Since the latest Orange update, done so I can get Exchange Direct Push working, my device ALWAYS locks itself after the specified time, even when the device is being charged. What a pain in the ass, this kills TomTom and reduces the car-kit to a waste of time. I want the device security turned on, but not when charging, has anyone got a fix for this yet?
Can I have the Exchange Push (AKU2?) update WITHOUT these annoying security issues?
How the devil do I get the bootloader mode to work?
Should I even be updating?
What about the Radio Mode?
What does the G: stand for?
totally confused, I've tried to answer these questions myself before posting, any help would be really appreciated.
I just purchased an O2 XDA Exec, and its such an amazing little machine! But, its soooo slow, and compared with my ipaq hx2415 the ipaq screams past it. My rom version is (note that I purchased it 3rd party so I'm not sure if its a new rom, but I do know its unlocked):
ROM version: 1.30.107 WWE
ROM date: 04/11/06
Radio version: 1.09.00
Protocol version: 42.42.P8
ExtROM version: 1.30.162 WWE
Then, I ran into this youtube video and it runs as I would expect it to from a 520mhz processor:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UIMvqpxvPDo
The video author sent me these 2 images of the rom he's using:
http://www.aijaa.com/v.php?i=1215198.jpg
http://www.aijaa.com/v.php?i=1215219.jpg
Then, I found this thread for the rom that's actually on the unit.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/archive/index.php/t-291429.html
Regardless of all of that, I'm curious what I should do to get my uni to run at these speeds? And, is it a good idea to run wm6 on a wm5 device?
I am using this Rom build,as it seems the most stable and fast to me.
Actually I cooked the Rom to my needs.
If you want to try it,pm me.
This is an old ROM...
I'd say use the new one it's on thread : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=342944
I haven't flashed it yet but I've read the forum and it seems fast and stable.
Hey thanks for the replies... I'll definitely try the roms. A couple questions though:
How do I find out which uni I have? G3 or G4?
And,
How do I flash my device? Is there a guide somewhere?
Thanks!
I was reading this page: http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Uni_ROM_Upgrade
But, I can't seem to enter the bootloader. You press the on/off button then soft reset? Right? When I do this it just soft resets like normal, with no boot loader at all.
To enter bootloader...
Hi,
To enter the bootloader you need to press the light and on/off button while pressing the soft-reset button with the stylus. So first press both the light and on/off buttons then do the soft-reset and this will put the device into the bootloader...
Ok I press light/onoff/reset, but the bootloader doesn't work. Also, when I hold in the light/onoff buttons after I press the reset, the device doesn't boot at all!
What happens when in bootloader...
Okay here we are press the light and on/off button then press the stylus into the reset button all of this must be done simultaneously... The device won't reboot but it will come up with a screen showing Serial at the top and a number at the bottom - this is without a backlight so look at it in good light. The number is what they are talking about when they tell you to look for anything below 1.99999 or above 2.0000.
Hah. Duh, of course there's no backlight. Well I definitely have a G4 unit.
The next question is: I'd like to verify that my uni is in fact unlocked, but the link to the CID/EROM utility on wiki doesn't work... anyone know a utility I can use to make sure my uni is in fact unlocked?
Ok I found the utilities to make that work, but after I install the new Rom some hardware buttons don't work (the on/off, directional buttons, camera, display, etc.).
However, the keypad buttons work, which is weird. Anyone know what's going on?
First port of call...
Okay now that you have the new ROM, first thing to do is perform a Hard Reset which clears all the old settings out of the registry, extended ROM and file system... To do this you need to press the two function keys (look like this "__" on the keyboard and then used the stylus to press the reset button it will ask if you want to reset the phone to the factory settings, which you do so press 0. Hopefully this sorts your problems out. If the problems persist just reflash and hard reset and it should be okay...
Ah. It was all the extended Rom cabs that O2 had in. I put them in a backup Rom and now everything works great I think! Will post if I have problems. Thanks! I'm so happy my uni is now functioning like it should!
I've had a Herm200 and a Herm100 both of which have had radio problems one just wouldn't hold a radio at all. It powers up with a No GSM error. I've tried every fix I could find and finally gave up and just use it as a PDA. Now I have a 8525 which instead of the No GSM. I get R. NONE G. NONE on boot. If I reflash it to a OEM rom it will bring back the radio but its unstable. On a soft reset it comes and goes. So installing any app that requires a reboot is risky because I dont know if im gonna have a radio after reboot. Has anyone ran into this before and if soo does anyone now a fix.
Thank You C Brown
Hello, Please Help
I,m an E-pat living in spain and got a new HTC Touch through my servise provider (Movistar), Of course it came with Spanish Windows Mobile, and I needed it in English, so I decided to flash it with an English-language ROM
Touch_Dual_WWE_2.01_2.20.707.1B_03.07.90 after i had sim and cid unlocked it first
Unfortunately I was not aware until it was too late that there are multiple different Touch models, and I obviously flashed an incompatible ROM . At first everything looked good, then I noticed that the phone rebooted every three minutes, and finally, having been switched off, it no longer will switch on. The orange led comes on for a few seconds, then disappears; a soft or hard reset produces the Movistar logo screen, then it switches off again.
I can put it into the bootloader tricolor screen by holding the camera button for a while; and i get the USB words appering in the bottom left of the screen, but i cannot activate activesycn to try and load a correct Rom. I have tried to load 3 elf Rom,s through the RUU without success.
Is there some way i can flash a WWE Rom or have i bricked my new phone ?
This is the origonal Rom
Rom version 2.20.621.1.esp
Radio 03.07.90
protocol 4.1.13.51
Ext 2.20.621.101
Devise 010050
Htc 304
Thanks Zomac
have you tried looking for the answer here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=374
you may have to try flashing the original spanish rom if you can find it
On an athena the phone is not bricked if you can get into the tricolor bootloader,
but to flash a lot of roms the phone must be have another SPL loaded.
if you search the forum there are usually many people who have made the same mistake as you previously.
You can also use the search button to get your answer quicker , but there is a sticky that talks about a possible solution near the top of the quoted page
Have had a SPV M700 for a couple of years now. Still happy with the phone, but have noticed the GPS is getting very slow to lock on.
Have read a variety of threads on this and pretty confused.
It is still on WM5
ROM version 1.23.61.5
Radio: 1.30.00.01
Do I need to update just the radio version? if so, is there a basic guide out there to explain the procedure?
Cheers
Yes you have a very old radio. Last one for Trinity is in my signature.
Before flashing radio, you should install hardSPL.
Look for Olipro 1.20 for Trinity.
Press at same time "Power" and "Camera" buttons and hold them while stylus in reset pin next to usb plug
release buttons synchro, then release stylus
Then you must see "serial" down the screen
Connect to PC by USB
Then you must see "USB" down the screen
Install Olipro 1.2 now.
Hard reset after install.
Now to install radio, as simple as to flash ROM.
Press at same time "Power" and "Camera" buttons and hold them while stylus in reset pin next to usb plug
release buttons synchro, then release stylus
Then you must see "serial" down the screen
Connect to PC by USB
Then you must see "USB" down the screen
Install RADIO now.
Hard reset after install.
Then you can flash any ROM (for Trinity) you like : WM5, WM6, WM 6.1, WM 6.5 and any language
brds,
nAr
narshorn , thank you for your explanation
Is it necessary to Install "Olipro 1.2" every time you change Radio or ROM? Or just necessary to install one time (for the first time)?
Thanks
Once is enough (unless you overwrite it with a full rom that includes an SPL).
