...ok....
Just posted this B4 the big crash....
...if anyone wants 2 use it, just do the old fasioned "Cut/Copy/Paste" with your 'preferred' screen cover material and apply to keep your PDA2K keyboard from getting all scratched up from repeated open/close cycles of keyboard....
I am currently using the Fellows WriteRight material.... but am not thrilled... If anyone finds a better material, plese share!!!!

you even can not persuade yourself, why you need others persuade you?
my opinion is you play the PDA not the PDA play with you.
Well i have imate k jam since 2 years, now it looks like a crap, scratches all over the body. Now what i am thinking is to decorate or paint the phone so as to make it beautiful.
But there isnt any easy way to paint the phone. So is there any way we can decorate our phone without taking much pain and risk. Any ideas guys...
I read somewhere you can use nail polish to colour coz it doesnt come out easily and looks good. I will try it, until than please contribute ideas to make our ugly phones beautiful
You could also purchase a new housing off ebay...
Hi,
At work I have my Phone lying on its back on my table. When I get an email/sms or whatever I usually just type a quick reply without picking up the phone. Is that possible with the DHD? I mean, the curve and especially the camera lens seem to indicate that the DHD can't even by seated on it's back - doesn't it "tilt"?
Thanks

tilts a LITTLE and moves a LITTLE!! i just places it on a anti-scratch and moving pad use in kitchens. Sometime I just leave in in my Charging Cradle Dock at work, and Use it from there!!
Some PPL gets SO LAZY from using their Phone by holding it...SIGH...
it does tilt a little, but as long as you type quickly and nimbly, it is fine
I have mine in a gel case and it doesn't move at all
On it's own it will tilt slightly, but this doesn't make typing difficult
Thanks all. I think I want to take a closer look at the cradles and "gel" casings - do you have some links to what you use?

Ditto this. Get a gel case. It "hugs" whatever surface you put it on, and you don't have hard, brittle surfaces getting chipped or damaged.
This is very similar to the case I am using, and a very similar price too
I'm also using a gel case, and it doesn't tilt or move at all. A partial link (can't post the whole thing as I'm still a new user) to the one I bought is found below. It's cheap, and works like a charm!

So, I have a mini bluetooth keyboard that I want to attach to my phone using the extra battery cover, epoxy, and some hinges. However, I need the hinges to be especially strong and tight as I am going to attach the keyboard backwards in a Motorola backflip-esque layout so the keyboard doesn't cover the screen. Does anybody have any idea what type of hinges I should look out for, or what type of epoxy to buy, or any other tips of the trade in something like this?

Really? Yo your just asking to end up with a phone that looks like a three year-old put together. But maybe im just under estimating your skills. Got any pics of what your working with I would be glad to help. I've done autobody all my life and am in school now for Computer Engineering so I've got a nack for fabricating. E-mail me @ [email protected]
You want to glue the keyboard to your phone?

Well, I honestly don't care about the outcome because if I dislike it, I can just buy a new back cover. Hell, the phone came with two in the box if I regret it. And I'm just looking for either a hinge with a hold on itself so that it can support the phone (as I'm pretty much installing them in a way where they would normally just flap around) and some sort of material that can stick with epoxy, considering we don't have a lot of space in the phone's back cover for screws.
have you tried velcro?
also can you post the link of the keyboard you are using?

I'm just using one of the simple mini bluetooth keyboards from amazon. I got it for $18. I like how thin and light it is.
Why not use blue tooth?
I am using my old nokia blue tooth key board.

...Did you read not just the title, but the actual post? I am using bluetooth for the keyboard, and now I'm attaching it with small box hinges and epoxy. Wish me luck. xD
I've seen it done before on an HD2 with the same keyboard and it didn't look half bad.
So I am almost finished with it and my results were satisfactory. I messed up a lot so there is a lot of extra epoxy and it doesn't look too good at the moment, but if I can find epoxy remover that is plastic-safe I could clean it up a bit more. Another issue is the way it was positioned that made me have to redo the entire thing. If you bring the keyboard too close to the edge of the phone, it won't fold all the way out and will hit the volume buttons. That is because of the curved design of the phone. I'm thinking of going over the whole thing with spraypaint once I get extra money, as I also had to use aluminum pieces to compensate for the small size of the hinges to attach it to the back (It won't work attaching them from the sides.) When I get it cleaned up (or not, if I can not have people in the thread going "zomg you just ruined your vibrant gtfo") I can post pictures of the basic hinge design I did. If you want to try it yourself, know what you're getting into because the vibrant isn't as square as the hd2.

d00d the nokia blue tooth keyboard comes with a cell phone stand so you stand your cell in your keyboard.
Its what I use. and trust me I use my cell as it was a laptop. I do a lot of remote work from it including shh.

It has no use to me, considering I already purchased and attached the keyboard and the keyboard is supposed to be for text messaging mostly, and carrying a bigger bluetooth keyboard is just inconvenient for me.
best of luck i'd like to try this too
Hi every one,
First of all, thanks to all of you for your posts on this forum over the past couple of months. I'm new to Android and I've recently purchased a Galaxy Note after owning a number of iPhone's, and this place has been an absolute lifeline for information and helping me to get to grips with anything.
My question is, I know the official Samsung flip covers have taken a lot of flak for not lasting very long, however I've read that the flip cover in orange, which apparently is the latest version, has been made slightly differently to the others and could be a little more durable?
I'm just wondering if anyone owns this case, the longer the better, and could provide some feedback?
Many thanks.
I have the brown color flip cover. I only used it for 2 days. The quality is very nice, but I just don't like how it leaves the sides unprotected.
