Back-up Battery for Wallaby - Upgrading, Modifying and Unlocking

Hello. Has anyone changed the back-up battery on the Wallaby. My unit is fully charged but it still says the backup is only at 25%. What battery information is there?
Thanks

*HELP* SX-66 main battery invisible to device

When I tried to turn the device on, it only displays the version information before rebooting itself again and again ... and again. I finally put it in the cradle and it booted all the way up to the setup screen and was running properly (sans all the data and the applications I've installed, of course). The backup battery was down to 20% at the time.
Now, the battery screen shows Main battery at 0%, AC Only, and the backup battery at 100%. It doesn't show any charging activity to the main battery.
The battery on it right now was fully charged through the aux battery charger, and the backup battery is also fully charged. I've tried another fully charged battery with no luck.
I slapped in a freshly charged battery last night before going to bed. Everything was working just fine then. The phone was sitting inside a leather case all night and never moved.

I'm running the original Cingular ROM unlocked for use with a T-Mobile SIM.
Thanks for any help.
I updated the ROM to 1.40.00 and Radio to 1.13.00. But since EXT ROM update takes too many reboots and after each reboot, the directory would be hidden again, so it's still at 1.33.110 for Cingular.
Any thoughts? Please help. I'm aboslutely losing my mind. Do I have to call Siemens for warantee?
Not even speculations?
I have somewhat a similar problem, I have an XDA IIs, and I bought a 2400 mAh battery, and when I place it into the phone and plug in the USB Charger the light doesn't come on, so I turn on the phone and I goto power and it shows AC Only, and backup battery is full. I can't find a way to charge the battery since I bought it I need help =/.

Battery Charged but device doesn't power :'(

Hey guys,
i have a Vodafone VPx now and all has been great, however yesterday it reckoned the battery charged from 8% to 100% in 10 mins, i left it on the cradle over night, and now the device doesn't show any signs of life apart from a red charging indicator. I took the battery out and metered it, shows up at 3.72 Volts, so battery holds charge. What can i do to get the device to power again?

I'm not an expert but I would suggest to leave the device in the cradle and try to boot it when charging it. In this way you can decide whether it's a battery or some other malfunction. Maybe the internal backup battery needs to be replaced, but I don't know if it would let the battery indicator LED to blink...
I replaced my battery because it showed that it's fully charged but when uncradled the device won't connect to bluetooth devices or regularly drops the connection, it even resets itself although the indicator displaying full charge. Now everything is OK. You may consider buying a new battery if it's older than 2-3 years, but first test if that causes this behavior.
hi,
actually i'm experiencing the same thing..
my BA if used to connect to wifi, not more than 5 minutes it will hang with the screen goes blank.. so is it because of my internal back up battery that needs to be replaced or my main battery that need to be replaced?
FYI, backdays before, i got notification that my internal battery runs dry..
Ive just bought a BA off ebay and it came with 2 batts, but 1 of the batts keeps causing the BA to turn off evern if the batt is fully charged.. odd hey?
speedy2009, I think that one was the original battery bundled because it has no value any more so the seller sent it with the machine, all in all it's not a bad device for it's years.
jilaxzone, don't know how to test this, because sometimes the device gives false alarms, I would take it to a PDA shop and let them replace the internal battery as this is cheaper than the main battery.
Also Ive figgered out that if the backup battery is low, it gets charged up from the main battery.
Should everything be lost from the memory once the backup battery runs out? Cos I did try this morning, taking the main batt out and left the phone for about a hr. When I put the batt in, even tho windows said the backup batt was completely empty, it still had all my info in windows??
Hi, the backup battery is responsible for the time and date. The other functions of it are unknown to me. Fortunately the ROM storage is not lost when the battery drains completely

If thats the case theres no real reason for a backup batt cos it only takes a few secs to alter time and date, like on a normal mobile phone.

[Q] Battery % dropped after battery pulled

lately my battery was not at it's best so I decided to do a fresh wipe/install of latest cm7 nightly (38). Now I charged my phone fully to 100% with current widget reporting 0ma and then wiped the battery stats, simple steps I always do with a new rom or fresh install.
Now the weird thing is my battery was at 96% after a phone call and I decided to pull the battery out the phone and plugged it straight back in, when I turned the device back on battery dropped to 84%..???
I wonder why the at has happend? Was the battery not calibrated properly lately therefor causing a bit of an issue for me, it read 96% but 84% was the real value? e.g. was my phone never fully charged lately due to bad battery stats (which I wiped everytime)...
Just wondering if someone can shed light on this situation and or if you had similar experience ?
I'm now charging my battery back to 100% and hope I finally get my good battery life back...
Why did you pull the battery?
If this happened shortly after you wiped the batterystats it's probably because the phone hasn't had enough time (ie charges and rundowns) to gather enough information to make the new batterystats accurate.
normally , phone used up more power to boot. if your have 100% and then you reboot, you will lost 1-2% or at most 5% if you do wipe cache & dalvic cache because the phone need to rebuild the cache.
but if you lost >10+% , it must be that the battery calibration problem. maybe you still have more than 90% after you take out the battery but the display is wrong.

Battery problem

Hello,
for a past few weeks I have a battery problem At first my phone was shutting down at 30-35%, today at 50% :O :O
I know everything about battery calibration, I did it at changing the ROM and did it last week when my phone was fully charged, in recovery. Battery monitor widget says that capacity is 790mAh after two cycles of charging.
I also create new battery in Battery monitor widget and it says that capacity is 1480mAh :/
You can see that now my battery is at 14% with 4123mV, that is not normal
Can it be that my battery is dead?
Does somebody has other method how to calibrate my battery?
Thank you very much

I can see that you use Sense rom so jump at Droidzone site and download some of the kernels with full battery calibration (I think it's #22 and up), flash it and that would solve the problem.
Sent from my HTC Desire using flashes and thunders
Or flash an AOSP rom and go to the nexus one development thread to find the battery calibration thread and follow those instructions.
