Windows Mobile 2005 Language Change

Hi.
I have a German MDA Pro. I would like to change the language of the OS. Where Would I be able to download a Windows Mobile 2005 English edition.
Any Help or any advice would be welcome.

From the FTP site: ftp://xda:[email protected]
look in Universal, ROMs (or suchlike)
You may need to 'steal' the data from the temp folder if it runs and quits with an error, and use this executable instead.

But, when I clicked on the ftp link, I got a message telling me (sorry for the translation from french...) that I can't connect to ftp server....
And I need a french (you guessed, don't you!!) version of Win Mobile 2005...

I succeeded in downloading this archive, but I get a message telling me that my device (O2 XDAII) is NOT compatible with this upgrade...

O2 XDA II? The ROM is for HTC Universal (XDA Exec) not for XDA II. Try searching in the Himalaya or Alpine forum.

Got a My Guide 5500 XL from typhoon
specs:
400 Mhz Intel XScale PXA 255 Processor
Rom Version: V3.03.31 FRA
Version OS: PocketPC 2003
Boot Version: 040127150519
I would like to change this French version to a English one or even (if possible upgrade it to 2005)
I don't know wether the correct file is on your ftp, can't figure it out.
Can someone help me pls?

A what from who?
In these forums, "Typhoon" refers to a model of phone made by a Taiwanese manufacturer called "HTC". If you're searching for ROM upgrades for devices made by a manufacturer called Typhoon I'm afraid you won't have any luck here.

Is there a WM6 or WM6.1 Professional ROM available for the i-mate JAMA, as I am thinking of buying one from expansys while they have got them for the baraing price of £89.95?

I've this PDA too and I would like know about ROM to flash for the Italian version. As far as I know there's a WM6 version only for Chinese idiom not for English/Italian one.

yes its good to upgrade to wm6 ...
its very fast ...........
but i heared that imate jama now its coming with wm6...

Hi friends,I am new to j2me. I want to connect Bluetooth printer(Thermal Small Printer )to Imate Ultimate 6150 mobile. normally i connected through bluetooth its conneced ..fine.. now i want connect through the j2me mobile application to send the data to the printer and printer it should print the data..
now i am struggling to get the printer info from j2me mobile application.. also how to send the data please guide me... how to do that .. please guide me... give tips or useful links ...also what are the basic information i have read for this project.i know some basic about the bluetooth.. it has three method to transfer the data: (1)OBEX (2) L2CAP & (3) RFCON.. which one i can use... I use Netbeans to develop the j2me application also in unix platform

my jama is showing error code 9 process after trying this version and now it is not working whenever i start the device every time it stucks on errorcode 9 process. after showing imate logo. i m very much confused wat to do now ?????????????

jama orginal rom(wm5) is only available at imate service centers.i've upgrated my jama.now l could'nt find any orginal rom for this device to return to wm5.

WM 6.1 in PTB

Anyone knows if it exist ?

I'm assuming PTB is an abbreviation for Brazilian Portuguese. As with Spanish and just about every other language, the only way to get WM6.1 localized is to get it from your cellular carrier or the phone's manufacturer.
I'd suggest talking with rickwyatt to see if Windows Mobile is as easy to localize as more enlightened operating systems.

For now there is just a "generic" HTC rom for PTB.

Yeah, as far as I know (from what I've searched and asked) that's the current status, and there's no wm 6.1 version, only wm 6.0.

A while ago, Ricky started a thread of how to cook your own ROM. I was trying to translate Ricky's ROM to spanish but I had no luck. It took several hard resets to finally give up. I think (and sure it's applicable to all languages) that the translation has to do something with .mui files and folders. I got them from some ROM in spanish but then I had no idea of how to put them all in an installable ROM and finally working. I think it would be a great idea if we all try to come with some tutorial of how to do this. Any ideas will be welcome.

Hi,
I need some Help with the Toshiba e830.
Well as I know there are no updates whatsoever, but maybe some of you guys can make one. I really want to have at least wm5 because the old wm2003 doesnt seem to work with most new programs (i need the new opera mobile 9.5)
The device is great hardwarewise. I mean it has all i need.
actually i read, that there was an update for the japanese e830 (japanese Rom)

im telling you. its a great machine, and most of the newer programs are just made for wm5 or wm6. so is there no solution to this.
i mean there is a bootloader for the japanese rom, cant i backup my own, or write a new rom with wm6 on the pda?
are there any other e830 users?

You should do a wm5 or wm6 rom for such e830 users as me,and somebody maybe pay for it

thats what im asking others to do...
because i have absolutely no plan at all...
if there are tutorials on how to do it or someone would explain or help how it works im willing and will try it for sure...
and i guess there are still some e830 users out there.
as i understood, the problem is a bootloader to reach the data in the rom of the device...

hehe, im the one who needs help...
anyway, ive found a bootloader and the japanese rom update...
there are two files: eboot.bin and xip.bin ...
so maybe someone of you guys knows anything...

I have one in french and i have been locking for many years on how to upgrade an english rom.
Even upgrade to wm5
No luck so far.
i have :
English rom image
French rom
Japanese rom
e800 wm 2003 bootloader
e75x wm 2003 bootloader
osloader 1.5.6.exe
e830jap.exe
e830r0411jap.exe
but don't know what to do with the files.

Hello and welcome to this forum,
as orb says, do follow the instrutions very well, or you can soon make a mess of things. One question I have for you is why do you wish to down grade? if it is for Video calling then you are correct to downgrade, only WM 5 will support video calling, but for anything else then WM 6.1 is far better than WM 5.
