I have an XDA I. I'm currently running:
WM2003 Cooked in the RomKitchen around June 2003
ROM version 4.00.11 dated 6/23/03
Radio version 6.18.00
I just downloaded the TMobile 2003 update.
Before I load this I would prefer to use a kitchen method.
The Kitchen was the greatest since it let me pick & choose what
I wanted in ROM. It also had a version of WM2003 that seemed to have
less overhead. XDA developers are incredible.
Is there are kitchen to cook my ROM with this new version of WM2003?
I can't figure out how to make my own Kitchen. The one I used last time was so simple. That's what I need.
http://xda.weblink.net/
The latest is 4.01.16 ... but I would recommend to read its issues before upgrading .... 4.01.00 works great for me.
Thanks BISO.
However what I want to do is upgrade to the lastest ROM
from T-Mobile. I have this ROM but like the ability to pick & choose
features which the Kitchen cooked roms allow.
Lumpi stefans kitchen allows this I think.

Just a little bit of info needed as I am new to all this cooking ROMS.
I am using the Core Kitchen which I have found easy when extracting a ROM and I have been using the schaps ROM as it contats the RGU files with the packages as oppose to the Black Roms which dont and I am not confident enough to be able to sort out that mess yet.
The question is in two parts and I hope you can help me a little.
Part 1: when you extract the ROM what is contained in the OS.nb file the reas on I ask is I want to get a Basic from MS ROM so I can start with my own ROM building as oppose to someone elses (VERY GOOD I MIGHT ADD) ROM.
Part 2: where can I get the RTM M$ WM6 ROM from a rom without any modifications or any added packages just the M$ PDA/PHONE ROM.
Please help this is the only two bits that im really lost with.
I have a Vario 2 on T Mobile uk
you might want to look at the FTP for vanilla wm6 roms...
the last time i checked, it was still there.
I have seen the Vanilla ROM is that the M$ RTM base OS then ???
hey guys,
can you tell me what specs you enter into duttys tool as im having problems?
thanks in advance
PDAJAS
ImateJasjam (HERMES100)
Radio: 1.20.31.10
Rom: Black IV Shadow
Olipro 2.10
Telstra AUS
Not sure im new to all this myself as you can prob tell.
Vanilla ROM has too many missig files that I cannot even find according to the tutorial with CORE an official ROM wont have any missing files schaps only has 1 which i know where to find it so can put it in the right place.
It just seems easier to want to start with a RTM official M$ rom and build on it rather than hack bits out of an already cooked rom.
the FTP?
Where is this? (it's early for me, is it in the wiki?)

Its on the Wiki i looked at Cooked Roms on the main wiki page and then it gave me a list of them that were avaliable. Vanilla was on the top of the list.
Skauk,
you can also give a look at the Dopod ROM posted here in the forum... even that its not the newes build, it has nothing added/mising; it could be a good start point.
Regards;
thankyou I will give dopod a look tonight then its so anoying that you cannot get hold of the latest builds that some of these people have so we might start without the bugs of previous builds...
if anyone knows where I can get a later build RTM that's not cooked already you would be number 1 on my xmas card list lol.
Dopod ispretty hard to work out also so anyone else help me find latest build wm6 so i can build on it ??

I would suggest you spend a little time in the upgrading section. As far as a stock windows mobile 6 rom, the problem is there aren't any yet. Although I think some upgrades may be coming along in the next few months. The roms here are pieced together from other machines or pulled from unreleased versions. I don't know of a true "stock" hermes wm6 rom at this point. You could get a WM5 rom to practice with which would show you what to expect, and what "comes with" though.
Good luck,
hello,
you to use original version WM ? or Kitchen ?
you could explained why you use the Kitchen or the WM ?
Thank you
i use the official rom.
which is just fine.

I use an italian cooked ROM WM6.
I am using Shap's kitchen rom, veryx100 good 7 stable
I am using Shap's kitchen rom
For approx. 1 year: original WM5 ROM
1 month ago Shap's WWE ROM
From yesterday WM_6.1 WWE ausdim ROM
I am using LIT ROM WM6.
However it is difficult to say which is kitchen or original.
LIT says he takes an original Dopod ROM which is then only translated.
The ROM is original, but he has to use the Kitchen to translate it.
So what shall I vote?
I'm using a kitchen rom because is more fast than original
I use a Kitchen because there's many things i don't use in official ROM.
It's all about costumization.
Kitchen
I' ve never try the official!
schap's 4.30-01/01/08
kitchen is better than original... just better in every sense. stable and less junkwares...

I'm using Ausdim ROM because it's easier haveing all the apps you want as part of the ROM and not having to install them afterward and using valuable storage.
Maxi
Use a kitchen rom..Finix&Over light! the best for me..
its all about customization...you can have less junk, and more about the programs you really need...More: free ram + memory = faster rom.
After 2 weeks purchase I updated ROM to Indigo_Lite
Bepe dit for me
Hello together
I'm using Bepe's great WM6-German cooked version. Am fully satisfied
I use a cooked ROM since there's no official WM6 upgrade for the HTC P3600.
I used Kitchen Rom.. A lot of apps in the official ROM, I seldom use..
I know alot of the chefs on here are top notch and use a method of not using RGU files in there ROM.s but I need a good base WM6.1 ROM that I can extract using Core Kitchen and alter as I fancy having a go at making my own. However I cannot find a good base WM6.1 ROM to develop that doesnt have the RGU fiels taken out. Any Ideas on which WM6.1 ROM is good to start cooking with ?
good shout!
I'll second that!
I'm about to embark on a project too...
ALWAYS try pandora naked, download the kitchen from the thread as it has all the tools in the zip already broken into OEM/SYS. The latest build is pretty good and its the one im using in the new ROM im flashing tonight at some point (V7).
matt_rk is pretty swell about releasing the rom bases etc... so i wouldnt worry about it being behind in terms of versions alongside the latest builds of PaYs / Ks rom etc...
Hello Guys!
I just recognized that Windows Mobile 6.5 is very fast and that it also doesn't need as much memory as 6.1. But in every 6.5 ROM I found there's something missing I would like to have in.
Where can I get a WM6.5 Kitchen? The best would be when it is with the latest build available.
I Just don't know where to get this, and I never cooked before, just want to try with it (don't ask me why, I just want to)
It would be very nice if someone can give me a link for a kitchen.
Thanks in advance

danny_and_2 created a kitchen based on the 21500 build which you can find here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=503128.
Im also currently trying to create a kitchen based on the Stock HTC 2.03 rom and build 21501 using Ervius' Visual Kitchen but haven't been able to successfully port the XIP yet (device doesn't boot).
Thank you for your answer, I will have a look on it.
To prevent damages because of a non booting device the best way is to flash test roms via customRUU and to place a working diamimg.nbh on the internal storages, or is there any other way?
Regards
Fireblade310
I tend to leave a copy of the stock htc rom on the internal storage (as DIAMIMG.nbh) and flash my test roms using customRUU, that way i can always get my device up and running again quickly if things dont quite work out.
where i can get calendar like this?
its look cool..
Any of the beta Manila 2.5 ROM's e.g. Miri v10, Dutty R5, EnergyROM, etc over here.
HD 2 calendar

HD 2 calendar
1 more question, what actually they mean by rom?
i'm new user, quite not familiar with the word.
ROM stands for read only memory. Basically your phone will have come with the Stock ROM (Windows 6.1) but its like a basic version. Now because HTC and the phone companies like Orange, O2 etc are not that forthcoming with updates etc due to new phones being constantly announced, there are some really clever people on here who have taken either Windows 6.1 or the newer 6.5 and made if you will, custom ROM's.
I was quite confused as to how to update to these new ROM's with their being so many of them but its an easy process once you get the hang of it. I have tried about 3 different 6.5 Roms, and at the moment have gone back to Dutty's 3.9 XT which is a 6.1 rom.
Windows Mobile is so customizable, and thats what these Chefs (Rom creators) are doing. Check out the ROM's from Dutty, Miri, NRG etc they have all done fantastic jobs.
Hope this helps.
HD 2 calendar
ok, thanks. it gives me some information.. by the way, how i can check type of my rom?
Hi one_e00,
check this post, it has everything you want to know about what rom you use,
what spl, and how to change the rom to something else:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=505377
I just used it myself to change to the newest Miri REV 10 ROM.
And now i have the new calendar you wanted, as it's included in that rom
HD 2 calendar
ok, thanks. i will look foward for it. does the new rom give any trouble to you?
can you post me a picture of your calendar and home picture?
1 more thing, please give me address to Miri Rev 10 Rom, so i can go direct to it without any doubt. i'm afraid i go to wrong rom.

Well I don't have any troubles but there is always some bugs since most of the roms are not stable yet since (as far as I know) neither windows mobile 6.5 or htc sense is completed. When they're updated rom cooks update their roms also so when you start flashing you might want to flash new one when cooks release it, but you don't have to of course. But I started flashing roms one day after I bought my Blackstone.
The screenshots are from NRGZ28's energy rom photon with manila 2.5. I haven't use Miri's rom but I can suggest you NRGZ28's.
Also you'll need to read Dummies guide: flashing 1.56+ roms [v 2.0] carefully. Good luck and have fun with new roms
hd 2 calendar
thanks a lot. it gives me much info.
if only the calendar could be incorporated into Manila 2.1 *sigh*
