is there a device that can duplicate a sim card? as to where both cards have the same number stored in them. i guess the same imei # too? not sure about how that works. oh and for it to aslo work in vista. this may be illegal but i dont care. unless cingular can findout somehow and shut off my account, then i wont do it. its for my other fone that i designate as my car fone on how i have it basically hardwired to the car.
there are sim card copier hardware for pc's which should be able to do it
no imei is tied to the phone never the sim
"oh and for it to aslo work in vista."
no idea what you mean here that your pda dont work under vista?
that the sim copy hardware dont work with vista?
the sim software. pda works fine under vista.

Pretty easy to find...
are any of these going to be safe to use on my sim card? ive read that trying to crack a sim can almost or completely damage a sim. i want to find a safe methode that does work.
not sure if this is the case everywhere but if my sim gets damaged
i just call the operator and they just send me a new one
if i dont have a working sim i cant make calls and they dont make money its in their intrest
hi all
i am new too this forum, but i'm really happy that i find some thing that i need a lot.
as far as i know, Sim cards has a memory that stores phone numbers and SMSs! (i know a lot! )
so it is possible to store any kind of data in it! even programs! am i right?
as i had heard, there are programs that sits in Sim card and does lots of things!
now here is the question:
is there any programs that we can manage Sim card data? or even let us see all the data in Sim card.
how can we install programs in Sim card?
how can we write programs for it?
i hope i can find some information here
thnx all
If our Sim Card can store program then it must have a memory as big as USB . And all SD will be unable ...
sim card editing
try simemulator @http://www.sorobangeeks.com/software
i heard on the net that mobilEdit can do much better though i haven't tried it.
before using simemulator, read all the FAQs first!
sim card editing
sorry to threadjack my own post above.
here's another one i found for sim editing. but again i haven't tried it yet.
Dekart SIM Manager 2.5
look different!
thnx all, but let me explain some more
i am not looking for normal programs, as i am not going to do normal tasks like copying contacts!
Sim card has a memory, so we may be able to store any kind of data in it! so we may be able to store a light program in it! so we can do a lot!
as i had heard, there are programs that can be stored on Sim card make your phone a portable microphone, but not for you it sends all the voices to some where that the program wants!!
no matter what i told may be some how wrong, but i think it is possible to work on it
it is simple! we want to store data in Sim card, but this data is acceptable for mobile operators to do some thing we want!
if i want to tell in another way, i should say, how can i write a program and store it in Sim?!!
Do you know how "much" memoy has usual, world-wide-used SIM card?
Most of them has 32-128 KB (kilobytes)! Now, compare that to usual phone memory + storage cards memory that almost any device have.
Most of (usual) SIM cards can store up to 250 contacts entries and some sms messages. That is all what can be stored on max. 128 KB of memory.
Just a small reminder: 128 KB of RAM was "much" when I bought my first computer. It was ZX Spectrum II and the year was 1986 (or 1988, I cant remember).Only then 128 KB seemed to be impossible to fill with program code ( wonderfull assembler and disassembler days). Today, even phones have more than 128 MB of memory (1.000 X more then 128 KB).
Now, correct me if I´am wrong, but I am speaking about those SIM cards I know about. Maybe there is some new sort of it with extended memory capacity (but I didnt heard for it).
as you said, 128KB is enough to run an OS! or at least it is possible to run a program with it.
so why it isn't possible to store a small program on Sim card?
if we expect every upcodes and operands 2 Bytes, it is still enough memory to run a program that sends all the voices to a specified phone number.
again let me ask in another way:
is there any standard language that mobile operators understand?
when we turn on our mobile, some thing must be initialized, what are those? how can we edit those settings?
we may need to edit the part that is initialized every time
i think it is possible, but still don't know what to do!
nothing else?!!
can't anyone help?!
i though i can find many useful ideas! i have lots of other questions.
i will be glad if someone can help me, even share ideas like this. i have similar ideas.
you can call me here!
[email protected]
again thnx all
why don't you give us an example of a program that YOU would like to store on the sim. Tell me what you can get with 128KB? Even Pocket RAR is 326KB, a simple screencapture program is 170KB, what do you expect to do with only 128KB (if you even have one). And is it worth it?
Why would you even want to **** around with your sim card?
You screw it up and you have to pay for a new one from your provider.
MicroSDHC cards are retarded cheap. Why run the risk.
Maybe he wants to hide his programs inside SIM card. But its true that the SIM card has no enough amount of memory to store even small app. Besides, if you could write this program to SIM, who may be able to run it? Only your program again, because standard GSM-driver does not run any program from SIM card.
thanks for answers.
i am not going to write a program with a graphical interface witch can handle many tasks!
i want to have something like virus!! or a Trojan horse that can copy calls to another phone line too!
this is only an example,
i am not going to install regular programs on my sim, i want some thing much more strange!
we know that when we turn our phone on, something must be initialized, what are those? the default things that our operator wants, like show our number too every one, enable call waiting and ....
and it must be stored in sim memory, which is not the same as contact or sms memory. am i right?
so, first we can change those settings, i think we can find some extra feathers that is disable in many Sim cards.
then it may be possible to have a extra segment that we can store our program there.
the program should not be written in c# or java because we don't have the framework for them, or even C++.
maybe it has an operating system in it and we need too change some constants! or anything else.
first we need some low lvl information from Sim cards. then we can find what should we do.
i have a friend that can help a little,
i will send an example soon to see Simcard programing can be good
Forget it. You have to understand, that even if you write your "program" to SIM card, nobody then can execute it. Because nothing is executed from SIM card while it is initialized.
AND If I got it right, the use your planning is not legit. Since I sincerely doubt you're going to spy on yourself, you maybe want it to spy on someone? Don't know in the US (but I can easily imagine), here in Italy it would be considered a severe violation of a person's privacy, and you would be jailed for that... so, just trust more people around you and live your life peacefully

i am not going to spy anyone, as any changes to those settings must be visible for mobile operators. and as you said, "you would be jailed for that"
but if government ask to do some thing like this, no one can do anything!
i had heard that England government had reached to something like that!!
you receive an SMS and when you read it, something is installed on your Sim and all the voices will be send somewhere else too!
i just want to know what is happening in my sim card! the first thing i asked was how can i see every thing in my sim card?!

the program should be written in GSM language! or some thing that every mobile phone or mobile operator understand.

You are too credulous, dont believe in those fairy-tales. It is really impossible. As we say in Russia: "It can not happen, because it can never happen!" ("Этого не может быть, потому что этого не может быть никогда!")

i would be glad if it can not true.
but i think it is possible, and its too easy!
do you agree that settings like enabling call waiting, diverting, SMS service number, and ... should be saved in Sim memory?
all the data must be send somewhere
data can be send to 2 service centers
or to a service center that copies data to somewhere
or any other ways.
it is possible!
which part is wrong?
if it had not been happened yet, it can be done soon!!
i think it is good to search a little on it, there must be something interesting
at least we can be sure it is not possible!

Again, you should differ stored data and programs. Data is never executed, it is read and written by the external programs (such as GSM driver). Program which can be executed, is situated outside SIM card, otherwise it will not execute, because nothing executes programs from SIM. I think such kind of programs does not exist at all.
GOOD!
thnx a lot.
can you please explain some more about GSM driver?
i think at least we can change data on Sim card and make the GSM driver work different. am i right?
hi giuys like the header says i would like to sim lock my phone... what i mean is that i want my phone to work only with my sim... i've tried to search on the forum for it but with no results... can you help me???
thanks in advance
hi. first of all, if your phone is sim locked, it not gonna work only with your sim but with every sim card of your network ( vodafone in your case); secondly i've never heard about something or somehow to sim-lock again a phone!!! ask Olinex, may be he knows!!! good luck
i didn't mean the general sim-lock like the branded phones have i mean maybe a lite app that runs when you start the phone and blocks you from using the phone if there is no sim or it isn'tt the sim you've previously registered...
aahhh okayyyy, you mean something like the nokia's phone locking if the sim is changed! i've understood now! i was looking for it me too but i've never found a bit! we'll stay in touch, if i find something intresting i'll tell you ciao

I got what you need but it is shareware [you have to pay for it].
It is for Wm 5 but i think that it will support higher too.
Did you search on google?
Here is the link: [click].
I searched for the "cra**ed" version but all links are dead or fake.
hi thanks for the reply guys
if you can use password protection why bother such thing!!!
okay, password may be broken by software, but same thing for any kind of security also.
anyway, a program can be written such as:
small memory residence program which will check the sim nr. in every few min.
if not matched, will enter into Airport Mode + screen lock
keep checking every few min.
if it matched the nr. stored before (encrypted) will unlock airport mode+screen
or the program will only trigger at the stratup or sim change
Hi there, I've changed my operator from t-mobile CZ to vodafone CZ. A problem has appeared. I've unlocked phone when i was changing WM6.1 to WM6.5. However phonw writes No signal | Vodafone CZ.. I tried to change operator manualy.. but there isn't vodafone to pick.. I don't know what to do now.. plz help me.. I need my phone every day..
Slide a piece of paper in back of your sim card. Some times sim cards are not fat enough to get in contact with the sim reader. No one knows when your kaiser starts behaving like sim card isnt fat enough, it did for me 2 months ago and till now I have a piece of paper to do the remedy :|

Currently Android doesnt support locked sim cards. If you are using Haret Install, you need to PIN unlock your sim card before running Haret, or otherwise install Android on NAND only with an unlocked, right out of the box working sim card.
I know its bad but its this way. Here we usually block PUK code if our sim cards are lost / stolen
I bought a "new" phone and discovered that its a repacked Sprint HTC ONE M8. I've been trying to get my ATT compatible Straight Talk SIM card to work and have had no luck. I dont want to bombard this question with data that may or may not be relevant, so Im posting links of screenshots of my device which should show the "gist" of my problem.
The phone says it sees no SIM card, yet if I eject it, it says a SIM is needed in order to work, and does see it when I put the SIM back in. The phone also "seems" to be set up correctly for GSM (it sticks in the settings), and the phone does actually measure "some" network.. (I've no idea which one) With all this in mind, does this just sound like a defective and/or defective SIM card? Or, does this sound like something else?
Thanks for any input that can help me, a rank amateur!
Edit: having "issues" with attaching the photos, and since Im a noob, issues with posing links.. Heres another try.. just add the whole h t t p : / / to the google collection, or the individual urls on imgur.
