I am looking for a tool to compress installation files, so they decompress and execute after, better if I can make the compressed auto-install files in a current PC.
Regards.
SFX files
I found, between others, CrunchIT, to make Self-eXtract-Files (SFX), but as my original file is a .CAB, which is also a auto-executable, I can`t convert it into a SFX file.

i want read file i have error : UnauthorizedAccessException - it's problem with privileges?
if the system you wanna dump is WM5.0, it's a easy work. Use grab_it or other util to dump the rom to raw BIN image file, then take IMGFS_TOOLS to extract files.
How to extract the nb files from a cooked / shipped Rom with exe extension file name. Which tools should be use and where can get it?
Thanks
Hi mate,
I tried with WinRAR and it works. You just need to do right click on the exe file and extract it into particular folder on your drive.
Regards.
just change it to .zip
Rudegor & aatjitra
Get it! Thanks a lot!
Hello everyone, here is my question there is a couple of cool apps but they are .zip folders and when i download them and put them in my phone it says "there is no application associated with this file. run the app first and then open this file inside the application". But i don't know how to run the app.
Please help me, it is driving me crazy!
Thank you
Perhaps if you could be more specific as to what kind of applications you are trying to install. You may need to install a driver in order to open said apps.
did you save the file to your storage card? if you did then open it up there first, then run it on your phone.
Did you download a .cab or a .zip file to begin with?? Sometimes your PC will identify a .cab file as a 'Compressed (Zipped) Folder'. (1) If you downloaded a .cab file, then just move it to your device or storage card, then execute it from there. (2) If you downloaded a .zip file, then you will need to extract (unzip) the file on the PC first, if it contains a .cab file then follow step 1 above.
Sometimes program files are zipped up for transport (e.g. an RUU packages), those files need to be extracted on the PC and then executed from there. Hope this helps!
I managed to install PocketRAR and thanks to HouMing File Explorer Extension associate rar and zip files to it, but now I've flashed with a new ROM and I can't do the same process, it doesn't work anymore.
Any solution for compressed files? HVGA skin for Pocket RAR maybe?
I read somewhere that Google has changed the system used for the standard update zip file.
Therefore you have to convert some .dat files to .img files and .img files to a standard readable folder.
This I understand, however how do I reverse the process above to get back to the .dat file and get a lolipop compatible flashable zip?
