Hi,
I've noticed a difference in the sync connector between the XDA and XDA II. Pin 2 on XDA is Ground; Pin 2 on XDA II is something else and shows resistance like a transistor or diode. Does anyone know what is on pin 2?
Pin 2 on the XDA/MDA II is ground also, for audio...
Difference is onthe XDA I audio-out is always on, onthe XDA/MDA II audio-out is only on if pin 19 is connected to ground.
I guess that's why you have different outcome when measuring. I guess with Pin 19 connected to ground the reading should be the same...
Btw. pin layout has been discussed several times on the forum...

is the xda 2 car charger same as the xda 2s one just bought xda 2s of ebay and sold my xda 2 but woundering if i can use the car charger for it ?
There's a little calibration pin on the blue angel, you can use the xdaII cable but you'll need to file/scrape a bit off the cable's connector
You can also use some force to get it in but that is not advisable
The connectors are the same except for the $%^& gap in newer cables
thanks for your help m8
All I did when I got my iMate XDA2 car charger was swap the dongles on the end.
Does anyone know what causes the Evo to automatically enter car dock mode when the phone is plugged into the car dock?

Shorting pins 4 and 5 on your usb port should trigger it.
bluetooth?
it's the usb, it's how the plug reports to the phone, it's also responsible for charging modes and power(usb, ac). I don't know what pins, I'm pretty sure 2-3
Pins 2 and 3 are data in and data out. Pins 4 and 5 are ID and ground. Which two should I ground?

I tried the Palm inductive charging mod like I have on my Galaxy Nexus and like people use on the SGSIII, and it does not register as charging. I didn't use the two pins underneath the cover, I tapped into the actual battery spring terminals. I went directly from the coil to the spring terminals with solid wire as a proof of concept and it did not register as charging. I had 5.6VDC coming out of the coil and apparently the current isn't high enough for our gigantic battery Looks like I'm going back to regular "plug it in" charging. Sucks...
I also did this mod on my note 2 but like you it doesn't register as charging. I did this mod on my s3 and it worked fine. Is it something with T-Mobile's note?

I think it just doesnt register the roughly 350mah as charging. Now that I have Perseus kernel he said he bumped up the usb charging to 900mah so it may work but I havent tried. Im guessing in stock form the Note2 just laughs at the paltry 350mah.
I keep using that number because thats roughly what my Nexus would charge at without kernel mods...

Yeah, I saw that. Before I hooked anything up I measured 0vdc on those terminals with the phone plugged in and charging. I tries those terminals first, then the battery terminals as everyone warns against. No charging in any circumstance on my device. Maybe my inductive pins and or associated circuitry was jacked up out of the box but I find that hard to believe. Im still waiting to see any Tmo Note users get it running. So far, only the N7100 has had success.

I just tried connecting 5V from a spliced USB cable to the inductive charging pins and the phone does not indicate charging on the T-Mobile Galaxy Note II.
Its a shame, because I have all the necessary hardware after doing this mod to my Galaxy Nexus.
Is it possible that this doesn't work simply because of the ROM. Sort of like how we can't do multiscreen?

No, I dont think so. There is something missing on our devices, hardware wise. This mod is still possible, you just have to take the phone apart to solder into the usb connector. I dont have the time or desire to do that...yet lol.

Hey everybody,
I recently purchased the note 2 about 3 weeks ago... about 10 days into the purchase I exchanged the device for a new one because it had an excessive number of black dots (google amoled or note 2 black dots if you arent aware of tgis issue), and some other problems. So I got my new device works great, still has black dots when you load the grey screen but its minimal. Heres the problem. There is something wrong with my charger port. I plug in the microusb wire and it falls out from time to time. I tried using tge microusb wire that came with my samsung media dock and it seemed to fit a bit more snug but still eventually fell out. Moreover, when I connect my note 2 yo my samsung media dock (which connects it to my tv via microusb), the screen flickers. The flickering on the tv confirms that something is wrong with my microusb port, maybe it flickers bc it is not connected properly. Plus my first note 2 that I purchased never flickered. Could anyone provide an explanation for the loose charging port and the flickering on my tv? I think the two are related. Also has anyone sent their device to samsung for this? If so did you receive the device in working condition with no dings amd and scratches?
Thanks everyone =)

Well it could be a bad charging port this time. Try transferring big files from windows to confirm.

Thanks I will try to transfer a large file and see if it gets interrupted in the proccess.
Anyone else have issues with their microusb port? Was the charger loose? How did you guys deal with it?
Thanks in adv

Hi,
for some time my phone didn't charge any more and didn't react to usb connections(that means there is the charging symbol in the status bar, but it doesn't charge and on the lockscreen is no loger the 'charging _%.') :crying:
it is rooted with galaxynote2root
Re: [Q] Samsung Galaxy Note II doesn't charge
I had this problem, it was a mainboard issue. New mainboard was required. I was also rooted and had a custom rom, but used triangle away and odin to return to stock for warranty.
There is a thread on here somewhere about this issue, you're not the only one.

Usb port is sweet
I think that that microusb is fragile by default. but this is also easy to connect and disconnect.
I had to squeeze the connector to get stronger to connect properly with the pins.
sorry for my english.-
