Hi!
I need some help/advice on how to make the XDA establish transparent data call to other XDA using TAPI. In control panel there is CSD settings button which has settings for transparent mode, so XDA is obviously capable of doing it, but I guess that only applies when connecting to the internet. I need to connect two XDAs in transparent mode so please help me with some advice? Thank you!

Does anybody know how to enable transparent data transmission when connecting with CSD to another mobile? I only get RLP to work.

It depends on which modes are actually supported on the network. I think we found no differences in throughput/latency/errors when we tested using different modes, so we suspected the network just doesn't listen to the phones and does it's own thing.
With RLP the maximum tx rate is 9.6 but since gsm codec runs with 13.2 I thought switching to transparent mode (no error compensation) will increase my data throughput.

You need a CE version with the CSD Connect type entry in the System\Settings\Connections area. You can the select between V.32, V.34, V.110 and V.100 (from memory).
After having a look to the CSD connection applet I've noticed that there are entries for 9.6 only. I've tried all settings and can confirm that there is no difference between transparent and non transparent. The incoming call at the other station was ALWAYS non transparent (RLP).

This statement really needs the provider specified: there's differences between them...

long press screen > widget > settings > mobile network
Then it put a widget on my screen to turn it on or off
Also there is a widget 3G hotspot, airplane mode, bluetooth, GPS, sound profile, rintone, and wifi.

Greetings All,
I am looking for a way to have both data connections running on the Desire, is there a way to make it happen? I understand that the battery will die out quicker its just something I want to toy with. We are looking at having SIP in our factory and I noticed that while playing with SIP and due to the strict nature of our work Internet I was no longer able to access gmail/htc mail and pretty much any other data using app. This is why I want to enable GSM data as well.
Any ideas? Tried searching but did not find anything relevant.
Don't wanna b too rude here but can't u just access those apps through ur 3g connection? Unless ofcourse ur carrier doesn't supply one

Not being rude at all . Problem is that when the wifi is enabled the data connections (G, E, 3G & HSDPA) get disabled. I would like to keep those active and have only the wifi use the sip.

i don think its possible coz one is an alternative for other..they both are not meant to run at same time

I thought it would not be possible. Thanks for the answers much appreciated.

I think this will not work because there is only one 'network card' in you phone, one place where the internet connection is processed. Your phone can acces the internet either via WiFi or 3G but not both at the same time just as your computer can't do LAN and WLAN at the same time
It is not possible.
10chars.
I kinda figured that. I then found this gem which solved all my problems:

Now I am just need it to support "Allow local network connecting to skip proxy" and I will be very happy. Thanks for the all the responses .

An alternative would be Llama... It's free and relies on cell towers instead of location data.

Can't you just do all that if you put the setting widgets on a screen?? that's how I turn mine off and on? or have I missed the point?

Anybody knows how to get rid of that crappy red arrows showing on status bar while cellular data transmission is disabled? Or where are these stored in? I looked inside framework-res.apk without success.
Why do you want it disappear? Just hit clear beside it, and it gone until your next enable-disable the data network.
it did not gone when i hitted clear beside it. sory for my english.
That annoyd me to so u just enabled cellular data , easy

I was sooooo anoyed with those damn arrows !!! Go to Google Play and download APNOnOff by Curvefish. Then enable Motorola native Apn and when red arrows disappear just hit APNOnOff widget you've just downloaded to disable mobile internet.
It works 100%! Tried it on my Razr and Pro +..
I hope it will work for you aswell..
Cheers
