Hello there,
as you know, MS PPC SDK is too big for dial up user like me
So, I'm looking for small unofficial API so I can download it and develop for it
I don't need a big API, jus API lets me add textbox and button
If there is no such API like this, please I need some developer to develop small application. I'll tell him details (Its sooo small app)
Regards
For simple apps, it's quite easy to knock them up in HTML and javascript. Also the PPC platform contains an ASP web server, for more complex apps that need file access etc. It also means that you can build/tweak them on the go directly on the device.
Wow, thats would be great to develop in ASP,HTML and Javascript. especilally in ASP which has good functionality
but this would be in IE, or it will be ran as independent program ?
Pardon my english
Yeah, unfortunately it'd all run under pocket internet explorer.
There's a plethoa of other freebie/cheap languages out there
PocketC; NSBasic; CEBasic; PocketPCPython; Waba; PocketScheme; J; etc; but at the end of the day it's worth getting the MS dev tools as they're what everybody uses.
Don't MS offer a CD of it for a nominal charge .. aha eVT3 $7.85 from https://microsoft.order-5.com/trial...oper+Tools&product_id=X09-17298&cookie_test=1
What exactly is it you're trying to build and on what platform?
Thanks very much for the link
I'll buy it now, its really cheap
I want to develop a program for PPC2002 PE, Windows2003Mobile to handle SMS better than inbox program
I found good program for developing palm os,symbian and ppc applications using VB6. the program is MobileVB and it is not too big to download
Regards
Handling SMS - a word of caution, the XDAI doesn't have a decent way of handling SMS receiving - you either need to pick it up from the inbox, or replace the entire existing SMS handing application with your own app - and that's a lot of code - not just messages, but also receipts, QOS, WAP push etc.
MobileVB is quite nice, but it's rather expensive for the casual developer.
Hello there
Thanks for answering
I bought eVT and waiting for it
I tried MobileVB but it doesn't worth that money so I didn't buy it
Actually , my idea was to get the messages from sms inbox and show it to be compaitable with nokia screen in addition to to view MMS better and Biz Cards correctly
If you have any helpfull informations I'll be glad to hear from you
Regards

Hello Everyone,
I am a avid, aspiring developer, and as such I felt it would be mutually beneficial to start this thread. The Point of this this is for you [the users] to post up ideas for programs, and some sketch-ups of designs, and in return, I will try to make, and maintain, these applications.
In doing this, I will get the experience I need, and you [the users] will get the results that you [hopefully] want.
Below is [or will be soon enough] a list of programs that are developed or in the process of consideration.
Please refer to HERE for a updated list of projects...that will be my new place for updates!
Project List:
AutoSend - Scheduled SMS Sender [V3.0]
CMail - A Replacement tmail for Devs and Advanced Users[V1.0]
CSlide - A "Slide-To" like application that utilizes the JOGGR Bar for a Finger-Friendly Action Slider! [Concept]
Export-Studio - A FREE alternative app to export Contacts and SMS[V4.0 + Command Line Version]
Appointmentor - A command-line based app for creating appointments quickly and easily [V1.0]
ContactRetriever - A command-line based app for getting info on a specific contact! [V3.0]
CSort - A Command-Line based List Sorter (designed with MortScripters in mind) [V1.0]
*As you can see, the list is sort of pathetic now, but with your help, I can bulk it up*
SMS messenger
I would like an SMS type of instant messenger. The kind my Tmobile WM 6.0 came with. Like "Oz Instant Messaging". I have tried all the different cab files out there for OZ and can't get any of them to work with 3VO Rom. I do not have a data package with my phone and want to use an SMS type of messenger. Thanks for any help.

I will do what I can after I release the current SMS project I am working on.
I am aware that different messengers (or atleast AIM) has a number that you can txt to do chatting. I suppose what you are asking for is a GUI for performing such tasks? If so, once I fully comprehend the entire aspect of sending a SMS, i can probably make this GUI. Otherwise, please explain.
CycloneSender - AutoSend
Here is my FIRST RELEASE of an exe application for the Excalibur (EVER!).
NOTE: DUE TO THE RELEASE OF CMessageSuite, UPDATES WILL NOT BE PROVIDED FOR THIS PROGRAM ANY LONGER
CycloneSender - AutoSend[V3.5]
Basically, what this program does is allow you to program in set Dates and Times for SMS/TXT Messages to be sent. You can program events (with the application) up to 4 years in the future, down to the minute!
This program includes:
A Simple, Easy to Use GUI
Decent RAM/CPU Usage (there is always room for improvement)
An effective automating system (no need to monitor)
IT IS TOTALLY FREE (well, Donations are accepted )
To Install:
Simply download the attached .cab file and place it on your phone.
Run the .cab file and that is it.
To Use:
In the Start Menu, there is a new folder for my applications, navigate to that and there are two links
"CycloneSender" will run the actual application.
"Check for New" will run the automated portion of this app and check to see if there are pending events for the day, and if so, it will take the necessary actions.
Tips:
When you EXIT the main application, the automated portion of the app is run (so that newly programmed events can be parsed)
This program is accurate to the MINUTE, therefore if you set a message for 17:00 (Yes, it is in 24-hour mode), and the automated portion runs at 16:55:33, then the text message will be sent at 17:00:33 (Implementation for accuracy to the second may be included in newer released)
Known Bugs/Issues:
Unknown Results occur when two messages are scheduled for the EXACT SAME TIME [I will test this out]
When you add a recipient, you cannot delete it (will be fixed soon)
V3.0 UPDATE
This update owes big thanks to XDA user Mohitsapru. Thanks to his help, the efficiency of this application has well more than doubled! In this new version, there is no constantly running application and uses LESS ram! Same GUI, etc. ENJOY
(NEW CAB IS POSTED BELOW)
V3.5 UPDATE
This update allows you to program in MULTIPLE recipients. All recipients will receive the message at the same time. Also, some code optimization.
While I did the coding (for 99% of the part) myself, credit has to go to HowdyKeith who made the restart script for me (which plays a decently big part in making the program run smoothly) and to many other users on this forum that have helped me learn what I have.
With all that said, Enjoy the Application (and remember, donations appreciated )
Could i suggest you provide the proper info about the what it does in your first post next time thanks sounds kinda cool might try it one day.

Yes, and probably a little bit more, but Power SMS costs $$, while the one I am actively developing (as per request, bug report, etc.) comes at no charge to users (unless they so choose to donate, but that is not mandatory).
The point of doing this is mutually beneficial:
1- I get some more coding 'experience'/'knowledge'
2- Users get products that are free of charge!
All i need are ideas!
Speaking of which:
UPDATE
-I should have a basic release of CMail.exe tomorrow, allowing users to send SMS and E-Mail through command line interfaces (MortScript especially).
-While it doesn't seem like a gigantic improvement over tmail now, it can be once I add more features onto it (need Ideas!!!)...
All looking good and know what you mean using as a learnin block too
Will give a shot tom when got some free time... Keep up the good work
UPDATE
As per request, ScreenShots are posted in the AutoSend Post!
Also, New CONCEPTUAL project posted in First Post (CSlide) ... Will start on that once bugs in AutoSend are cleared and CMail is released...
EDIT:: New Update: Thanks to loads of help from mohitsapru , I will be releasing a much more energy efficient version of AutoSend in the next day or so. CMail may be delayed a little bit...

Ok Here it is:
If it is a console app use:
Code:
[LEFT][FONT=Arial] [DllImport([COLOR=#a31515]"coredll.dll"[/COLOR])][/FONT][/LEFT]
[FONT=Arial] [COLOR=blue]public[/COLOR] [COLOR=blue]static[/COLOR] [COLOR=blue]extern[/COLOR] [COLOR=#2b91af]IntPtr[/COLOR] SetCursor([COLOR=#2b91af]IntPtr[/COLOR] hCursor);[/FONT]

[FONT=Arial] }[/FONT]
[LEFT][FONT=Arial] [COLOR=green]//SetCursor(hOldCursor); [/COLOR][/FONT][/LEFT]
[FONT=Arial] }[/FONT]
for normal windows form code u can use
Cursor.current = Cursors.Default

I am not sure what type of program it was. It was OZ messenger as far as the research I have done. It was an IM application that came with my T-mobile DASH. It did not require any type of data plan to run the application. It was a simple text messenger. I was told by others in these forums that it was OZ messenger, but the ones I find here will not seem to work with my 3VO Rom. I hope that clears things up....it's only confused me more.
Well, I am not going to reinvent the wheel since that will only produce a square wheel and a waste of some time. Haha Basically, I don't want to attempt to recreate a working app because I will end up making a pretty buggy, CPU intensive one . I believe that with OZ Messenger you may have to search for a CONFIGURATION of your connection settings (if using T-Mobile, atleast for me, I had to do some tinkering once). It plagued me for a while to get it working, but now it works on my phone!
Good Luck
CMAIL V1.0
This program is an alternative to tmail.exe that was created so that people can either use it on their own, or use it WITH an application of their own. It is similar to the sender executable which is supplied with CycloneSender V1.0, however works differently.
This program includes:
A constantly maintained Documentation of ALL its functions.
The ability to Send SMS messages
A light-weight, command-line based program
To Install:
No real install...Just take the file and unzip it and put the CMail.exe where-ever you want.
To Use:
As I mentioned, the Documentation is supplied (in the compressed file) and it contains all the methods you can call on in.
In order to execute, you have to use MortScript to run it, an application of your own, or CeleCMD ... or even a Shortcut if you can figure that out.
*DISCLAIMER* THIS IS 100% COMMAND-LINE BASED, AND AS SUCH IS NOT RECOMMENDED FOR GENERAL END-USERS UNLESS THEY ARE AWARE ON HOW TO USE THE APPLICATION. (No damages can really be done to the phone using this incorrectly...)
Known Bugs/Issues
None so far (YES!)
Future Ideas:
MMS (?)
E-Mail
Please remember that I use my own time to make these free, useful alternatives! I couldn't do this without the help of other XDA Forum members. (Donations are appreciated!)
Please Comment and give me ideas for more functions
Export-Studio[V4.0]
This application is a very useful free alternative to those expensive Contact backup applications. It will backup/export your Contacts and SMS[V2].
UPDATE: V2.5 Released. Command-Line and GUI versions bundled into ONE EXE.
UPDATE: V3.0 Released. Now you can export Contacts in VCF format!
UPDATE: V3.1 Released. Fixes error with missing DLL.
UPDATE: V4.0 Released. Expands the export capabilities of Contacts!
This program includes:
A super-simple, lightweight GUI
The Ability to backup Contacts and SMS
Three modes of exporting: TXT and CSV and VCF
A comand-line based version of the GUI program
To Install:
Simply download the CAB file, and install it
Then navigate to Start Menu > CycloneApps > ExportStudio
and voila!
To use:
First, run the app and you will see 3 areas : What you want to output, the output format, and the folder to write to.
Select what you want to ouput
Make sure to ONLY PUT THE FOLDER in the folder text box, or you will get errors or weird results...
Once set up, click export, and the application will do its thing!
If you want to use the command-line feature, then just run the same EXE as for the GUI with parameters afterwards (see documentation)
Tips:
While the CSV format can be opened in Excel or the likes, I find that the TXT format is more organized.
Known Bugs/Issues:
There may be some slight errors in the CSV file (this is tested with OpenOffice on Windows Vista).
None others... YAY
Remember please, that I did this coding on my own and with the motivation and help of other users on the XDA Forums. I do this to practice coding for myself and to provide free alternatives of apps for the users of our beloved Excalibur. While the programs are 100% free, donations are appreciated .
UPDATE:
CycloneSender AutoSend V3.0 Just released! Enjoy the improvements (no noticable changes in GUI).
Progress is being made on Export Studio
Requests for new applications are MORE THAN WELCOME
UPDATE
ExportStudio V2.0 IS NOW OUT WITH SMS BACKUP CAPABILITIES!
More Ideas are welcome!

I'm in the process of learning C++, so until then I wouldn't really be able to make a worth-while SMSBubbles since C# isn't the fastest or most versatile language (in terms of gfx).
I have read through many discussions and reviews, and I'd like to confirm and clear a couple of things with experienced users of TP2.
What I need is WM and QWERTY. It leads to HTC TP2, SE Xperia X2, Samsung Omnia Pro B7610. SE and Samsung doesn't fit me for some reasons, therefore I ended up considering TP2. Here are my questions regarding TP2:
SMS stuff: is it possible to have saved plenty of messages [more than 1000]? Does that slow the device or SMS operations down? Is it still lucid and easy to keep overview in sent/received/drafts? Is it possible to send one message to more receivers at once? Is it possible to save SMS as a text file to memory card? And what about full-text search on messages?
audio recorder: is it possible to start it by one or two touch and same easily save it? Does it save mp3 or wav file to memory card?
does it allow schedule power off/on?
What else makes me pretty nervous is the fact that WM6.x is dead system no more supported by MS. Isn't it similar to buying PC with Windows 98 today? In one year time most likely there will be only apps for 7 and no more new apps for old 6.x. If it was phone for 200$ I wouldn't care, but when I pay 500$ [as sold here in EU], I expect such phone to stay useful for a good couple of years. I don't want to go for WP7 as according to MS ads it is intended as a mobile interface for Facebook for bored teens. And what's more, it'll take year or two since those apps used by me will be 7 compatible...

Dead system? Not supported? Who told you that? Remember: just because somebody posts their opinion doesn't make it true.
And no, not similar to buying PC with Win98.

xsys, there's still far to broad a userbase for the traditional windows mobile platform for Microsoft to pull the plug on it. You can expect to see support and development both continue on it, likely under one of the suspected names of "windows phone classic" or "windows phone enterprise"
For some of your other questions:
-The SMS module in WM 6.x (and even earlier versions) is known to bog down noticibly with the more messages you retain, and would probably be rather significant by the time you got to 1000. That's honestly one of the top 10 achille's heels of this platform.
-Yes, you can add multiple recipients to SMS messages just like with an e-mail.
-I don't know of any way to archive SMS as text file(s), but it's possible that one of the available 3rd-party SMS clients might have that capability. However, microsoft's free MyPhone service/client will back up all your SMS's and other important info (contacts, call logs, pics, etc) to the cloud each day, where you can access them through a web interface from anywhere. Using this is a great way to keep your SMS inbox trimmed down to the few active threads you're using at any given time, which can sidestep much of the native issue in WM6.x
-Again, I think full-text searches of SMS's would require some 3rd-party client, though I can't say if any offer that.
-HTC and other dev's offer a number of voice recording options, most of which can be as simple as lauching the app, then just hitting record. Some can do .wav, some can do .mp3 and others, and all can save to your SD card. I'll also note here that there's a great free key remapper for the TP2 available in these forums, that would allow you to map the recorder app of your choice, to any button on the device, for easy opening if you use it frequently
-I don't know if there's a way to schedule a power on, but I think I've seen a solution here somewhere to schedule a soft-reset (the standard simple reboot procedure). Maybe someone more familiar with it could point you to it.
Let us know if you have any more questions!
-
thanks for your responses guys. It seems dead system from MS point of view. They are now only on WP7 and stopped all work on WM6. Even TP2 is more than year old device and question is if there will be TP3 or something similar, soon. When it comes to memory and processor TP2 is kinda outdated piece of hardware. Though keyboard is outstanding, as well as some other functions. It is actually main reason for me to buy.
I hope that the community will keep this device alive Though, it is not so famous as HD2 what has much more users, and developers too.
My phone service seems to be nice one from MS it could solve my problem.
So, all the info I'm getting online makes me go for TP2... Now I just hope I'll get a good piece, as I heard some have problems and had to go for repair a few times...
Which ROM is the best - Heineken or Pilsner ;-)
There are still builds leaking from MS so someone is developing on the 6.5.x branch. To be honest, as a business user, there is no phone OS out there today that can match the features of 6.5.x. As long as MS has business users I don't see them stopping development on 6.5.x
Hey guys, like the title says, I'm attempting to create an app, but with little success at this point.
What I want to do, didn't sound all that complicated in my head. I want to make an episode guide for a TV show I like. Nothing too fancy, but I do want it to look WP7-authentic.
First off, I don't know or really understanding coding in the slightest. I was hoping to be able to design most of the app through the on-screen WP7 display, which it seems I can do a lot on.
From what I've gathered, here's what I'd like to do:
Use the "Pivots" as the different story arcs or "seasons"
Within each pivot, Episode # and Title
But I'd also like to go one further and have each episode be clickable, which would take the user to a page containing info about the respective episode. Synopsis, International Titles, Airdate, etc.
It's a big project, I just need a little help getting it going.
Thanks!
dbG33K
what you're describing can be done one of two ways.
1. just display images after images
2. input text into the program
from what im gathering, it should be fairly easy for you to do as this is the sort of beginner stuff in most windows phone 7 programming books. id suggest you look into programming because even the slightest pivots and transitions require code.
now if you were on android or webos, thats different. they have full on graphics based programming thats a simple matter of drag and drop and choose function.
Download Expression Blend. You can do pretty much everything without having to write any code. It includes a "Pivot" template which has a pivot all ready for you, then you just add PivotItems using your mouse. Then you can use the Sample Data feature to mock up how your episode data will look.
The only thing you would have to write code for would be to pull the episode information from a datasource. Bind it to your controls and Expression will have the rest done for you.

First thing you'll need before you even open Visual Studio or Blend is a data feed.
An rss feed is ideal, And I'm sure theres alot of them out there for TV listings. Without that, theres little you can do (other than screen scraping websites, but people don't look too kindly on that)
If you can find me a Url for the RSS feed you want to use, I'll be more than willing to help you out

I'd be willing to help you out as well. I'm in the process of writing a feed reader to help me make the move WP7 from WPF/Silverlight. The idea I have for the UI is similar to yours and the feed reader (at least in the basic form) will be open source so I've no problem sharing my code...
I appreciate your willingness to help me out, but it's actually a series that has been over for quite a while.
Hey guys, I've gotten much further on my app and have become a little more well-acquainted with coding in the form of using Expression Blend 4. That said, I do have a few questions:
1. After making a few pages, I decided to make a sort of Welcome page for my app. How do I tell it to show that page first instead of "MainPage.xaml"?
2. On that welcome page, I would like to make a button that pulls up the user's E-mail and have it have my e-mail as the recipient.
Thanks a bunch!

That doesn't really help me too much...
What am I supposed to do in the WMAppManifest.xml?
And where do I find the email compose task, and how do I implement it into the app?
EDIT: Nevermind, I figured out both of those questions. A new question, though: How do I take screen shots of the app? I need at least one to submit it to the marketplace, but I don't know how :/

Make sure your emulator is set to 100% size and uncheck the "Show Device" checkbox in the tool. That will give you the necessary 480x800 sized .png
There's a fair lot you can do using the designer panel, but you will definitely need C# code for what happens 'behind the curtains'. Things like pulling the episodes from the internet and such.
I definitely recommend these tutorials:
Windows Phone 7 Development for Absolute Beginners.
It builds up slowly, but definitely gives you the foundation you need to put together basic applications.
Hey guys I found this thread and after reading it I feel I have a lot in common with dbG33K's tasks & questions. I feel I have a lot to offer WP7 apps as I learn more! I started out in January learning and studying as an absolute beginner (even did the 5 day course online). After a lot of studying, I felt confident enough to write my first BIG app.
I'm pretty good at the xaml part and getting real familiar with c# as I go along. Also, I think I have all the pieces I need, just need help putting it all together. I'm using an API for the data source (i have all the dlls and resources in place even all the c# methods for the API).
I have the UI all put together, now working on the c#. I'm just unsure on the binding part. I know my listboxes and other controls should be binded to a method in c#, but what calls that method? When the page loads that listbox, textblock, etc? Also, what kind of coding is generally used inside the {} of the methods that pulls info from the datasource?
As I have learned a lot aver the past couple of months, I find that I've learned it from examples I've found online, but I'm drawing a blank on this one. Any help would be great!
Thanks!
Do any of you can tellme how can I save text from the text box??

Hey guys
I'm an entrepreneur from Brisbane, Australia. I'm looking into introducing a new product and am wondering if you guys would be able to help me clarify a few questions. I have to add I have no idea what so ever about programming languages or whats possible or not. I just going to post my vision of the application I will need and hope some of you guys can tell me what of that will be possible, what not and how much effort / money it would take to realise.
Firstly of all and most importantly I need the the Phone application to work with several other systems which would be at the moment : - Iphone, Facebook, Windows Mobile, Blackberry Android, a Website interface, Windows Vista / 7 and Mac OS. I need this to work in two ways. One for the user to sync their data on different apps and secondly for the admin to receive and send data from the main system (that would be working on Windows or Mac)
On first interface the user would have to log in with a username and password, high security would be welcome, after the log in the general interface should be offering the user a booking request form with the ability to use a saved lists of items which have been previously use / prepared but also a interface for add one or editing
It also should offer a open bookings lists and the ability to edit this lists. This should also be able to be synced to the other systems. A third interface showing a history and updates should be also available.
If possible it should offer different accounts and groups where admins can edit the bookings of other users. If this is possible it also should offer a control for the admins which shows bookings and history of other group users.
I would like this obviously to be a professional looking app which offers a good service and is secure and bug free. If anyone has an idea if this is realisable or what parts of it would be difficult or have to be changed please do me the favour and comment.
Thank you for your help in advance.

Hello there,
I am developing a game for wp7, and I want to have a user login with skills an level. This users and levels I want toread and write from an SQL database.
But until now I found no API to connect. Is there any free solution to implement a database in wp7 (not linq)?
Thank you
Sent from my HD7 T9292 using Board Express
Nope, not in Nodo. You have to use linq-To-XML. This should be perfectly fine for small amounts of data.
If you can wait for Mango you can use a SQL CE database, but you still need to use Linq-to-SQL:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh202860(v=VS.92).aspx
Sent from my 7 Pro T7576 using Board Express
I know linq as a local database.
If I understand right linq-to-SQL is a one time sync? So I have to sync linq and SQL in the beginning and end of game.
So I would create for each user a linq db and then all linq dbs would be synced in SQL?
Sounds difficult, but I will give it a try this we

Sorry, do you want to connect to a remote SQL database on a webserver, or a just store a database on the phone itself? If on the phone itself, you can create on database for each user (Mango only).
If you want to sync with a remote server, you will need to interact with the server using some sort of Web Services. Then the Web Services do the reading/writing to/from the SQL sevrer and send the information back to the phone (you can currently do this in Nodo).
It should not be local, if its possible.
I want to subscribe on a free SQL host like I've of these: http://www.free-webhosts.com/free-mysql-database.php
Then I want to do the user management there and want do update the level and skills of the user who is logged in. A bit like a windows live account with the gamer points.
I would be glad if I can use SQL commands with c#.
I hope it become more easier to understand . Thank you for helping.
Do you got any sample code or tutorial how to use SQL in wp7? I failed :-D

With NoDo, you can't directly access an SQL server.
And even with Mango, I'd be careful doing such a thing, it can really be dangerous on many levels.
The best solution would be to use a web service, which could be accessed from your phone (via the WebClient class) and would handle the dirty work of connecting to the database and executing SQL queries (eg. inserting or retrieving data and outputting in XML format). This way even if you alter the structure of your database you don't have to change a single line of code in the app (that means you'll avoid resubmission), but only the web service code.
As a general suggestion, handle the more things you can server-side.
SQL Protocols are not really designed to work over slow/unreliable connections like the Internet, especially when it comes to 3G and so on. So it really would be best to encapsulate everything into a WebService to which you then send the Nickname, Game and Score and which allows to get the top rankings as well as a given players rankings.
I guess we won't see the ability to connect to remote SQL Servers through ADO.Net as it most likely would lead to bad user experience anyhow.

i am good in sql and there are free sql hosters, thats why i wanted to try it with sql.
so, the webservice, is this kind of php? can i also get some free hosters for these services?
i found in google some sample code, but i dont understand where the data will be "stored". Is this going to be like a "cloud app"
edit: grrr looking for "free webservices" in goog but i just find free homepage hosting sites
I find this topic really interesting because it tackles something I just can't wrap my head around: getting Windows Phone 7 to interact with a SQL database just doesn't seem like it's been explained in a straightforward enough manner.
For instance, my case is one where I need my app to extract info from a MySQL db stored on my website, parse that data and display each entry as an item in a pivot control. Turns out that no, SQL is not supported natively so I must go out of my way and recode my data into something that WP7 can understand; I read it's XML and that makes sense, so I have designed an auto-updating XML file on my website with data I want fed into the WP7 app. This is a workaround to connecting directly to a SQL database, as it only requires there to be a PHP file periodically creating an XML file with the info I need and it won't expose any SQL connection credentials, etc. I do not manage users on my site, so maybe win98 needs to find a way for WP7 to call a PHP page, send it a user ID or something and then retrieve that user's info. But any way, I think XML can work perfectly as a means to communicate between SQL and WP7 apps.
But, I don't know how to make this XML file populate the pages of my app. In Expression Blend I can import the XML as sample data, but it does this during design time and not at run time. This means that Blend can see my data and display it how I want it displayed, but I can't take this to runtime and have it displayed like that on the phone. So far, I haven't seen a single easy to follow step by step tutorial on how to parse information coming from an XML file on a WP7 app.
Any suggestions on how to overcome this hurdle we both face? I am familiar with web programming, but I know jack sh*t about C#, so Linq is greek to me.
Ok so I really got this wrong, that with Mango you get SQL and ports support so that you can remotely interact with an SQL server, with sql commands pretty much like you would do on a desktop and how you could do with WinMo ??
Best practices aside, You still get to do that with webservices ?
