LMFAO>> people buggin on you with the wrong correction
there not antenna connectors.
there diagnostic ports.
(Now i could be wrong and instead of being U.fl Diag ports they could be W.fl
just size difference really
where going on the base they are u.fl but the same applies if W.fl
if you notice there UFL but there not the same as the U.fl on a wifi card..
and they arent just a connector.. ,d
so going back to they being diag ports. they dont act the same electricly as a "antenna connector" remmeber there diag ports not external antenna connectors.
they also have a disconnect in them so when they are being used the "stock" antenna is disconnected
this is so the diag whtver gets the full power from the Transmiter and its gets the full signal from the diag machine. (IE to test TX and RX power and other stuff)
they have about 20 connect/disconects before they go to crap.. (They are NOT FOR ANTENNAS ON A PHONE> THEY WILL HURT YOUR RADIO>> PROMISE> THIS .
you cant buy the proper diag port connectors easily either
there are a few types most are ment to be held in place and dont really snap on. then there is one that looks like a ufl with rp with a small Coax.
so that one would be the one to start with but then you are into resistance etc. and the diag machines compensate for that a standard antenna wont.
a u.fl diag port disconnects the stock antenna.. and is used to be either or..
where the U.fl or w.fl is a Connector desinged to send all power to one place (antenna)
now if you know what you are doing you can use them as an antenna connector if you take other things into consideration and match it to work. THiS IS NOT FOR THE GENERAL XDA FORUM USER> NOT EVEN MOST MODS> as they are software peeps and not hardware (dont flame)
OMG>> all these hackers here and no one has posted the correct info.
here are the pdfs for u.fl and w.fl they dont have the diag port or its assoisciated connectors (thingys more like it)
http://www.hirose.co.jp/cataloge_hp/e32119372.pdf
http://www.hirose.co.jp/cataloge_hp/e32124820.pdf
now i have the pdf for the diag but i dont want to upload it as i got it in email from H japan.
holy **** tlorden now thats what im talkin about..gave me the correct answer and then elaborated on it. its members like u that keep me from leaving this place bro. and thanks for the interesting info and facts, that's some pretty interesting stuff...

Hello,
Here on the picture, I surrounded in RED, a part of the SGS2.
Can someone tell me what is it ? (This part is missing on my Samsung).
My problem is that my SGS2 doesn't have the network since he felt, but the wifi and everything is ok...
I need to replace the network, can someone tell me where to find this part?
Thanks
Nobody can help ?
Thats the connector for an external antenna....most likely your network board is screwed...

Thanks for your reply.
Can you show me with a picture, the parts that i must change for the network ?
Help please..
I need to repair it..
If you have warranty take it back to samsung

did you by any chance reset your phone with the phone plugged into a charger - sometimes when i do this, i lose network connection. Try resetting your phone on battery power.
You may have also screwed your IMEA. Search the forums for solutions for this.
Hi,
after Im using the headphones on the Nexus (they works great)
when i disconnect them, the phone still thinks that they are connected!
I found a group that talks about it on google's goups, but the only offer there is a fix app from the Play store that disables the Service of the headphones
When i use an air-spray on the headphone's Jack its returns to the normal state (no headphone connected state)
Had the same problem while the app will fix the problem it still is a hardware issue and can be fixed. I have the sprint version and they replaced with no problem.

The only problem is that the international warranty don't apply here and I'm not willing to send it to hongkong where i bought it.
Looking for other sulotions. Thanks
You can try putting your headphones in and out really fast to see if that will fix it. I used the app till I received my replacement

Ok guys, here's a strange one for you. I have no problem connecting my phone via wifi to a router, it stays connected and doesn't lose signal strength like many people have been having problems with. However, when I turn the wifi hotspot feature on, on my One X, the other device can connect to it and use it no problem but the issue I have is that the phone keeps randomly turning the wifi hotspot completely off and I have to keep turning it back on again, this keeps randomly happening, bit of a nuisance when you're using it to connect your Xbox 360 to Xbox Live lol. Could anyone help me out with this please? Thanks for any info guys.

I had this issue until I restarted my phone. After that it was working properly.
But you probably tried that?

I know this thread is a little old but I've experienced this problem too.
My first question would be is there a case on your phone? If so, what type is it? What brand? Is it thick? Tight?
I own the nilkin case the white thick one and it's also a little tight.
When I noticed that my bluetooth headset got crappy connection after the case I removed it but i found that my phone has one of those so called antenna defects (if you obstruct the top part of the phone with your hand either from the front or the back the connection would fail. At first I had the phone sent to the store. They claim they fixed the firmware for the issue. Sure enough the bluetooth and the antenna seemed fixed but the hotspot still kept acting up.
Finally, I removed the case and to my surprise the hotspot stopped getting deactivated by itself. This model is known for its poor contact with its antennas (like the asus transformer, i've been told) but affects a limited number of owners.
Let me know if this simple fix worked for you guys.
My phone started acting up about 2 weeks ago. It would not charge all the time and my PC had a hard time staying connected to it. I ordered a new USB port from eBay and installed it. I am getting a weaker than normal signal, but what is really weird is that when I remove the sim card, I still have 1 bar and sometimes 2 bars of signal. I have tried rebooting and pulling the battery. Is there a way to reset my signal meter or something? Maybe I could reflash my ROM? I don't know, does anyone have any suggestions?
Oh and this is the second USB port that I have received from an eBay seller. I sent the first one back for this reason but the new one is acting the same way.

Chk settings/more settings/mobile network/network mode -gsm only see if there is any diffrence now
Be sure while fixing the usb that the network wire attached to it fine as that may be the culprit

Well as u already replaced the usb again it must not be faulty as I had problem wth the usb 2 and when the servc guy changed it in frnt of me and after fixing it back I got no network as the wire connected to it which is on the right hand corner went kaput as a little force applied by the servc guy resulted in no netwrk and it was fixed replacing the signal reception wire .I hope u get which wire I m talking abt its the thin wire to right of the pcb board dat is attached to the usb port by just pressing it to the usb port on the lower right.
Yeah I know the wire your talking about. I can plug my original USB port back in and it gets a good signal but as soon as I plug the new board in the signal goes to crap again. If I can't get it to work I may just use it as a small tablet and use my nexus 4 as my main phone. Thanks for the help.
Yep, I just put my old USB port back in and got H+ right away. I re-installed the new one, and now I get no service.

A few pieces of information:
- USB has nothing, repeat _nothing_, to do with radio reception levels and adding a "USB port" (I assume that means a additional USB adaptor for your laptop) is not going to change that.
- If your cell phone does not charge properly, or not at all, the very first, and cheapest, thing to check is your USB cable (I had that happen to my daughter and her Blackberry), so try another cable. A short one preferably as I have a fairly long (1.9m or 6'3) one on my desk that is next to useless
- the second thing to check is to plug other USB devices (USB stick, camera, other phone, hard drive, camcorder, whatever...) in that suspected faulty USB port to see if they behave properly or not. If they do, then the port is most probably not at fault.
- If the phone is set to only use GSM, or you have selected manually a GSM cell to attach to, the phone will stay there and monitor the GSM network. You could have 5 bars H+ signal in the home and not know about it (at least all the phones I've used over the years behaved that way).
- You're supposed to be able to make emergency calls with a bare phone, so I would hope you still get reception when the SIM is out.
Finally, and seeing your other posts where you signal that changing "USB ports" changes the radio behaviour of your phone (which I have a very hard time believing), I have to assume there is a communication problem there...
Could you describe a little better, maybe with pictures, what it is you are really trying to achieve, please? Does the phone work fine when _not_ attached to a "USB port"? What do _you_ call a USB port and why do you need the phone to work while attached to it?
If indeed plugging the phone in some USB ports impacts its radio behaviour, then I would assume the phone is FUBAR and should be returned and replaced...
HTH,
François

We are talking about this, http://www.witrigs.com/replacement-parts-charging-port-usb-flex-cable-for-samsung-galaxy-note-2
I have a video that I recorded this morning that I I am uploading to YouTube. I will post a link as soon as it is done uploading so that you can see how the antenna plugs in to the USB port and that it does make a difference in my signal and data connection.
There was no need for all the sh*t talk in your first post. If you don't know what you are talking about then you shouldn't make posts before researching the topic.

Back off, man!
Nowhere does it say in the OP you are trying to replace the USB port INSIDE the freaking phone, and I made it abundantly clear that I wasn't sure what you were talking about and assumed laptop USB port. I even guessed I was misunderstanding you and asked for the picture to clarify.
Based on that, I tried to offer advice based on my own experiences with cellular phones both at home and the office. And to bash me like that when it's obvious I'm not a native english speaker is a bit disingenious.
Anyway, however you want to write it, the antenna doesn't plug into the USB port, as you say. Again. The part you bought may accomodate for the connection of both the motherboard and the antennas, it does not mean antenna and USB are interconnected. They are not. The only thing I'll concede is that the amplifier may derive power directly from the power lead in the connector (and why it would do that when it gets it from the battery already?)
that's it for me, feel free to ignore me in the future I won't miss it.

Were you dropped on your head when you were born? Or did you eat lead paint chips? English not being your native language has nothing to do with this. I understood you fine. Its just you don't know what your talking about. The antenna does plug directly into the USB port flex cable.

Flex cable are the operative words there. But you're right in a way, I didn't know what you were talking about until I saw this picture.
Also, I do think miscommunication can clearly be attributed to country differences. You were not being very clear and I missed your point entirely. At least I thought about the possibility, you should give me that...

Me neither, and I get fed up witnessing people getting dragged into meaningless disputes.
About your problem, now that I can visualize it...
I have a Note 2 LTE whose radio stopped working correctly last january, as well as a co-worker's S3 (lab phones). We thought it was a bad manipulation in the phone service menus originally (we had to apply the same to both for work reasons), but that has been ruled out since.
The real reason for the mess up, it seems, the only one left to us at least, is that we were working on a bench with wired radio and had to plug radio leads into the connectors (there are two on the LTE model) to get coverage. Must have broken or changed something within the phone to explain the loss of sentitivity...
Not sure that's going to help, but you may have more than just the USB port flex cable broken on that phone...
I take that back. I now have a clear view with the video and context. I'd say your issue is with your spares. You'll probably have to swap them until you find a good enough one.
good luck
Thanks for the info. I would definitely assume that it was something other than the USB port flex cable if I did not get good signal and data connection with the old USB flex. I've seen people on the galaxy s2 forums that have the same problem as me and have actually cut the original part in half and the new part in half, taped them together, and this worked! I haven't tried that yet. The thing that threw me off is the signal with no sim card. In the USA when you take your sim card out the, the signal meter goes blank, on every phone I've had at least. I know I can make an emergency call to 911 but the signal meter is always blank. This is also true on my nexus 4 when I remove the sim card. Maybe I can find a part with the same rev. # that will work for me. Thanks to everyone for your input.
