Question How do I unlock my bootloader without the Asus unlock tool - Asus ROG Phone 6 / 6 Pro

Surely there's a way to unlock the bootloader of an Asus ROG phone 6 without the unlock tool?
Does anyone know how? And is it as simple as other OEM unlocks

It's possible but not simple.
ASUS remove the OEM unlock commands from all their roms to force using the official unlock app. The one they have decided to no longer offer.
What needs to be done is someone patching a ROM to enable those and re-pack it as a RAW or EDL that can be force flashed on to a locked device. After that the device can simply be unlocked with the standard commands. It requires some development work that nobody has looked into yet. It was done for ROG 2.

Official bootloader unlocking tool by asus!!!!

Asus has released official bootloader unlocking tool for our zenfone 2:laugh::laugh:
the have poted in there official myzen.asus.com
For some reason neither this nor the One-Click Unlocker is working for me. They reboot to bootloader, flash a few lines, and then cut to red text stating "Unlock fail - reboot in 5 seconds."
Does anyone have any idea what is happening or how I might fix it?
I have unlocked it using unofficial method. Any different to unlocking using official method, in terms of feature or functionality of the phone?
Yes. The difference is: official method doesn't work!
Nothing to see on this line
Be glad you didn't get the official tool to work because the official tool is causing bootloader-loop issues see this thread;

P2 OEM Unlock in dev settings

Hi, recently I switched from Nexus 5 to Lenovo P2 but the phone I got has bloatware from T-Mobile and they don't seem to hurry with releasing Nougat to my phone
I noticed that in dev setting there's an option to OEM unlock the device, does it unlock the bootloader or just permits me to unlock it manually?
If so, after unlocking all I'll need to do will be just to flash TWRP and that's it?

This option only allows you to unlock it, it doesn't actually unlocks the bootloader
I asked a bootloader unlocking from my device. If after the 14 days period I don't unlock it with fastboot, do you think my warranty is still valid ?
I am thinking oft buying this Phone but rooting is very important to me. What I have found out so far is that you have to unlock your bootloader to install TWRP. Your warranty will officially be void.
Now my question: has sb send his phone to repair in Germany? Does Lenovo really check their database for your phone? And what about this 14 days wait?
Thanks in advance

How to root SM-G981V

I am trying to root my phone but I can't get passed enabling the oem lock because it does show up in my developer settings. Is there a way I can root it without enabling that to open the bootloader. I'm very new at this so if anyone can help much appreciated.

If it's the U.S. variant, long story short is no.
Samsung has been hard locking bootloaders on U.S. variants for years now and you need to unlock bootloader (OEM Unlock) to flash custom binaries (Magisk/root).
It used to be that there was no way of unlocking bootloaders until recently, but it's a paid service
If you are really interested about unlocking your bootloader and you really want and/or need root, you can check this thread out: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/sampwnd-usa-model-bl-unlock-info-u-u1-w.4201689/

Question Tmobile OnePlus 9 Pro Unlock/Root

Hi all. I'm thinking about purchasing a oneplus 9 pro, via tmobile. I know traditionally speaking you have to pay off your phone to network unlock, and then request an unlock token from oneplus to be able to root the device. I havent snooped around the forums here much for this device. Is there currently a way to root the phone without having to do all the pre-req crap normally required. Is there a way to unlock bootloader like there was with oneplus 7T via MSM tool or similar? I don't perticularly care about SIM unlock, just bootloader. Thanks!
Hi, you have to sim unlock inorder to bootloader unlock

OnePlus phones are easy to root as compared to a few other brands. And since there is a flash tool available for OnePlus phones, you can take risks for rooting your phone. You can use the flash tool to fix your phone in case of any issue. Rooting is not an easy task, but Magisk app makes it easier if you follow the correct steps. But you cannot directly root your phone by default. So first we will share how to unlock bootloader of OnePlus 9 (Pro).

If all you want to do is root/ROM your phone, then you don't need to "unlock your phone". You just need to "unlock your bootloader" which is something different and not hard.
My phone is still SIM-locked but I have rooted it and installed Havoc OS ROM.
To unlock the bootloader, this app should do the trick.

Please help me, I can't unlock my iqoo10

Hello, I have a device, iqoo10. I want to unlock the BootLoader for better use, but I find that all methods cannot be unlocked, such as using fastboot vivo or directly using Google's official unlocking command fastboot flashing unlock. Because vivo has modified the boot, it must use the vivo tool to unlock. A more difficult problem arises. The vivo unlocking tool only supports iqoo9, so I cannot unlock
