Good morning,
yesterday I received a notification about an update to my phone. I downloaded it as per the instructions (1.84.61.2) and set about installing it.
The phone restarts, the HTC screen comes on and then a black screen with the Installing Icon on (red triangle with ! in it). For a short period there is a status bar showing the progression but that then disappears (half way through), leaving the installing icon on its own. The phone then sits this way for hours before I have to remove the battery and restart.
History:
Previously, I had clockworkmod recovery (CWM) installed. When a previous update came OTA I screwed up the phone and had to reinstall the Orange stock rom from the beginning to get it working. This seems to have removed CWM. I had also set Radio to S-OFF and have changed that back to S-ON now. Furthermore, I have UNrooted the phone to leave it in what should be the original start state.
I HAVE removed some of the orange apps that came with the phone (Peep, Stocks, Twitter and some others)
Does anyone know why the phone is hanging and not installing the new Firmware?
many thanks in advance,
AC
Hey all,
Couple days ago i got the official update for my HTC ONE X to Jelly Bean 4.1.1.
I was extremely happy and installed it asap and the install worked great with 100% success.
Sadly , After the 1st launch the phone worked for couple seconds and then stuck for 2 seconds and just reboot it self , then it launched again and rebooted again after couple seconds.
It looks like a boot loop with official rom , I must say that the phone get to the "Desktop" main screen with the clock , but cant stay "alive" more then couple seconds and resets over and over.
FYI - When i enter Boot screen it doesnt reset , and when i plug the phone to the charger - it doesnt reset at all (even in the phone main screen - apps and stuff).
I dont wanna send it to repair because it can take up to 3 weeks without it.
I even started to think about Custom ROM , but i really want to avoid that when there's 4.1.1 official rom out there.
Any solution?
I will really appriciate that.
thx alot.
Does it stay enough for you to do a Factory Reset? If so do it (Both from Bootloader and from Settings) then you should have your phone good as new
Do a factory reset in bootloader menu, maybe it helps.....your phone is 100% stock now ?
Enter the bootloader menu by pressing and holding the power button and volume - button until it reboots into bootloader menu
I did factory reset both on settings and on boot screen , The problem doesnt solved.
My phone is 100% stock yeah.
Then i suggest you take it in for warranty ! If you unlock the bootloader and start rooting and custom romming you will definitely void the 100% warranty that you still have now !!!
Is there any option to Re-install the 4.1.1 update? or Roll back to 4.0.4 without unlocking the device?
Atm its 100% stock lock im reminding.
Rolling back to 4.04 is impossible without unlocking the bootloader. Installing the update again.....can't really answer that question ....sorry mate

You can install the ROM from scratch if the RUU is avaliable, check htcruu.com.
Hi, I wanted to root my Nexus 5x. However after I unlock the boot loader (it works fine) but then install twrp recovery and reboot out of it, I get a message that my system is corrupted (not the we can't check for corruption orange one, the red one that tells you it's corrupted and might not boot properly). Is this something normal that happens? Is there something I can do about it? Any help is GREATLY appreciated
Yes the orange text is normal behavior, i believe it happens when you unlock the bootloader, and the red is when you install a custom recovery. When you install the modified boot image, for rooting, i believe it removes the red message.
I only get the orange message here.
Hi everyone, I have got a strange but I think its not that big problem, But Im unable to tackle it.
I tried to root my Desire 816d Dual sim once, but failed, what I was only able to do was, I could unlock the bootloader of my phone with S-on. I left it that way after trying so hard and cant root my device. I dont wanna root it anymore rather I want to update my phone to the marshmallow 6.0 update and I have re-locked my bootloader as well. Its status shows re-locked now.
But the problem is, whenever update gets to be downloaded completely and my phone ask me to restart to install the updates, and after pressing yes the phone reboots but suddenly it enter into recovery menu and stops there...
And when I reboot it from that the update does not install and it prompts me to restart to install the updates again. How am I supposed to stop this menu to pop up please help.
And one more thing, when I recharge my phone when battery drains out, and phone is switched off, instead of charging bar to show up recovery menu shows up and it stays there..
Please help, I want new update and stop these recovery options to pop up so badly..
Hi all, thanks for your help in advance
Nexus 5X 32GB previously on 6.0.1 MMB29K I believe, rooted and unlocked, was running xposed and decrypted. It was running just fine until a few weeks ago, where right in front of my eyes while I was using it, it crashed and shut off (battery saver was on too). Then it wouldn't turn on for a day or two no matter how long I pressed the phone's keys.
Now when I boot it without sim card, it will freeze during the boot animation and then either shut off or try again. When I try with sim card in, it appears the kernel crashes with the Crash on the LK! screen. Without sim, I can access fastboot and recovery just fine (previously that was also hit or miss). I have manually flashed stock everything, and it hasn't been fixed (also tried reset via stock recovery). I might have a backup but it would be on my school computer and I'm not back to uni yet.
Any ideas for what I can do to try and fix it? Can I relock my 5X in this state without bricking it? Then I could get a warranty replacement I believe?
