Try other firmware, do a factory reset after you backed up your dates and so on. Try it

Hello,
Is there anyone who is able to get second sim working on dual sim xt1635-02 just like people were able to do so with moto x play. I have checked that my device does contains pins for the second sim and above all there are worldwide dual sim devices with same xt1635-02 board.
No word. However with other forum users ending up with imei = 0 on sim 1, i wouldn't recommend it.

any update?
The method to install a dual SIM firmware on a single sim device probably will work. Like with Moto X Play there will be only one IMEI be present. Who wants a dual SIM device, should buy a dual SIM device.
After you are sure to have a working efs backup (this one is really difficult! How to be sure your backup would work without testing restore? But if backup is broken or incomplete, testing restore may make your phone an expensive mediaplayer!), good luck when testing. Others just don't have the need I guess.
I tried several things the past days, and the only thing I got is the second sim got reconized but no calls are possible. The prop says dualsim=failes.
I think it's hardcoded like the software channel.

I have read people's experience while making attempts. I wanted something more "sure"

You could flash the RETBR firmware on your MZP, swap in a dual sim tray and give it a shot.

Doesn't work. I tried the RETBR and the Asian versions. Nothing.
The only thing right now is "setprop persist.radio.multisim.config dsds"
But the Second SIM got no network connection.

Nice. Can it be used to make calls?
rooted mzp and modified build.prop
i can get it to recognize the sim, even number properly but no network on second sim.
guess @-=Morph= made a typo: now instead of no ...
Can anyone tell me how to backup efs partition? Twrp doesn't show efs partition during backup.

I got both SIM cards working and a working network connection on both cards.
Calling works also. I test the settings now for a few days and if there are no problems I write a short tutorial.

This is on a device sold as single sim? That's awesome!
Yes a single sim from T-Mobile Germany. We got dualsim only at the motomaker and not in the local or Online stores.
The second sim got imei 0, but that's not a problem here.

what do you mean in re-plug the sin card.
Remove it and than try to insert again - if you mean that , so I do that many times , I even try to update the device in Google play app.

Hi guys, I own a lg g7 thinq - single sim. Is the hardware the same as g7 double sim or not?
Can I use the sd slot to insert the second sim? I dont want to use at the same time, I want to be able to switch at sim1 to sim2.
It's possible?
PS In my slot sim space for the sim2 is visible
ty
No.
Sorry but as far as I know the hardware is there but software locked. Also the second sim doesn't have IMEI

Exactly, if the limit is just software maybe there is a way to activate the second SIM reader... or not?
I remember that the mate 10 pro (single sim) was unlockable via software.
PS I dont need the second IMEI, because I dont want to use the sims in same moment
Will changing the region make a difference? Which should I change it to? Will this enable e sim
I have a SM-G985f/DS hybrid version and i am doin *#272*IMEI# to change the csc.
Will changing just the network code make a difference?
UPDATE: I fixed it and now i have a hybrid slot and an esim enabled
Changing the CSC to the region you're in is typically the best option however that may limit carrier calling features. To optimize call features acquiring a device from your service provider is ideal. If your service provider offers eSIM it can be enabled on most Exynos devices.

All I had to do was insert a sim of a region where esim is supported and then factory reset. I backed up my data using smart switch. Now the region is UAE and i have a dual sim option and an esim option.

I'm from Malaysia. i bought the phone at taiwan. Taiwan disable esim. But at Malaysia I have esim option for my telco.
So I can just change the region to Malaysia region?

Just one will be enough. Once you select a csc to change to it will ask if you want to change just the network key. I selected this and it didnt work. If you try the other two option it might work. Whatever you do be sure to make a smart switch backup before you proceed.
Heres what I did: What you need to do is remove the taiwan sim and then with malysian sim in the sim1 slot head into settings and factory reset the phone. Itll take about 10 to 15 minutes for it to reset. Once it does that, it might prompt you that your region has changed and you need to reset your phone. If you accept that your phone eill reset for a second time and once thats done you region csc will be changed and esim will be enabled. Now restore your data from smart switch. Your apps and data will be restored.
please update if it works
Thats how I did it. One tip that I do have is to backup your whatsapp chats frrom the app itself. Smart switch dosent backup app data, only the app. So I lost some of my chats.
Other methods I was reccomended was to use samkey or to flash a completely new firmware. The problem with samkey is that you need to purchase credits and flashing a new ROM moght void your warranty. The method I used is the simplest and will work for sure.
