Hi everyone, so basically my problem is that when I call someone or I'm being called by someone I can answer the phone but the audio doesn't work.
Even when I'm calling someone I can't even hear the ringing tone witch is quite strange. I don't know what might cause this problem because the calls in WhatsApp or in Instagram work very good. I have even tried to put my phone on speaker mode but even then I can hear nothing. Any other sound I can hear my phone just I can't hear the calls.
I should also mention that I'm using a Nubia red magic 5G with the Project Elixir custom gsi rom.
Also Network and SMS are working very good. I can't imagine why this happens but to anyone that thinks that he has a solution to my problem you're welcome to try and help me. I've also tried to find the solution to my problem in the threads ofProject Elixir and other GSI roms bat there seems that no one has this problem.
Thanks for the help!

Didn't see that. I'll be sure to read before i post now. Also can you please move back my question somwhere project elixir gsi related. The majority of the users of my phone use the stock system so i don't think they can help me.

I see you're new around here. Two things, this is a development forum and questions should probably go to the General section or the specific ROM's thread. You'll find people get pretty cranky around here when newcomers start opening threads for questions like these. Also, acquaint yourself with the 'search' button. You'll probably hear a lot about that too.

I've seen the root request, which has been Solved, but have not seen a formal request for a Custom Rom.
It's a great phone but sure would be nice to be Google & other garbage-free.
Thanks!

Sorry, someone sent me a message earlier today suggesting that I post this in this location rather than where it was.
I should have asked before listening to them.

Hi all, I'm new to the forum, nice to meet you all!
I have a big problem: I can't open any captive portal (wifi login page) of any network; it always shows an error of connection closed. Until a few days ago everything was working good. Now I'm forced to use all the time websites like neverssl.com to avoid https. Does anyone know how can I fix this issue? I guess something in the settings is changed since this happens for any network with a captive portal. I have a Xiaomi Mi 10T Pro.
Thank you

S9 is old I know but it's what I have & I don't let my kids or anyone mess with it & it's rarely been dropped so it's still in good shape. Battery is getting weak & it's not ready for 5g but I need to help it creep along a little longer & so I did a backup without pics & copied pics over to my laptop's external hard drive & then did the factory reset using the buttons. I then did the Restore. Only thing that didn't come through in Smart Switch restore was my old text messages.
There is a file called "Message" that is rather large like 5 Gig. I'm assuming this is the file of text threads that SS should have transferred over to my phone? Assuming such, I did go ahead & transfer that big file back onto my phone in a general location like Data or something just so I'd have it handy on the phone if I needed it at the phone store.
Is there ANYONE or anywhere that can tell me where Samsung is storing the text threads in S9's? Or perhaps even better, how to get Smart Switch to recognize this file & let me restore it using Smart Switch app on my laptop? It's Windows PC. Carrier's tech guy tried to walk me through doing that today but in the app it does not recognize there is any text messaging restorable files.
I'm desperately needing help. So many old sentimental messages. My parents, my kids, & now grandkids. Friends who've passed away...just like anyone I'm sure. I'd be very grateful for any help.

I'm so unfamiliar with this site. I was rushing. I appreciate the kind response. And thank you for moving it to the right forum.
Hi everybody,
If you have ever noticed, a little layer is added on the lock screen wallpaper on android 5.1.1 (Samsung Galaxy J2) which makes the picture look a little different, and it is especially noticed when dark colors are used, I am just wondering if there is any way that I can make it go? A mod maybe? I am trying to put a pure black wallpaper so that the entire screen won't turn on when I power up the phone, but no matter how much I tried, I couldn't make it go.
