I did some cleanup a while back, and I suspect I may have deleted/removed the private folder from my phone.
When I try to move a photo to Hidden album, nothing happens. There is no folder listed at the bottom of the photo app.
From the "My Files" app, selecting "Private Safe" nothing happens.
I have tried disabling the Privacy password, then restarting the phone, then set it up again, but still no luck.
factory reset
not worth the work a reset will cause me.
Do you happen to know the name and location of the private folder?
Or another solution?

Hello,
My 9090 has been changed, and I reinstalled everything.
I get from time to time a message "Notification error" "Impossible to execute My Documents\Data\pCTimer.exe".
Has someone got this file, in the same folder or one else ?
Where should it come from, and what's the use ?
Thanks for your help.
Jean-Jacques
I really dont know what is that.. but sure you can try to backup and delete the file from Windows\Startup
The fact is I miss this file, there is no data folder in My Documents :shock:
Anyone who has got the file PCTimer.exe, how did you ?
Feel free to send a link or any info.
Jean-Jacques
Did a hardboot and reinstalled.
Data folder dtill missing, but no more warning. 8)

Some program was at some time installed into your "My Documents\Data" directory, and added itself to your notification database. You've since removed the application, but the removal didn't get rid of the database entry, which is why you were getting this error.
You could have gotten a utility like Anoton Tomov's Pocket Mechanic (Look at http://www.antontomov.com), which would allow you to look at all the entries in the Notification database and even remove the offending entry.
This would have saved you hard resetting your device.
I've had a similar problem with eWallet 4.0 installed on my SD card, where I'd get an error like that if my XDA shut off before I closed eWallet.
Not sure if anyone else had this: I did a ROM upgrade on my XDA IIs, then restored all my data from a back up on my PC. most things seemed OK (though some GPRS settings were lost), but some old SMS messages and emails now show in the relevant folders, but have no 'envelop' next to them. I can't open them (you see the window try to expand, but nothing happens), and I can't delete them either! Even 'empty folders' doesn't work.
Does anyone know if there's a way of taking them out manually via explorer, or am I just stuck with them?
Thanks for any help

im having the same problem with my phone. i can send messages to deleted items but when i try to delete those althought they go away the number thats in deleted items shows in blue
Any ideas? Reg Hack?
I already have a program to manually do it, but you have do a soft reset afterwards. I would prefer not to have them all together.
Thanks!
The list is stored at
HKCU\Software\Microsft\Shell\TaskSwitch
You can manually delete them from here, but soft reset required.
DOn't know how to turn it off though.
Thanks. I am currently playing around with the current PDA2K rom, so I'll delete the key itself and see if it throws any errors. If it blows up, I'll just do a hard reset.
Thanks again!
just curious
so did u have to hard reset , or just deleting the reg key worked
The damm thing is self reparing. If you delete the contents and then launch a program, it fixes itself. Same thing if you delete the key itself...if you open up a new porgram, it recreates the key and all of the contents.
Need to find out what does it and figure out how to stop. You would think that having this option to turn off recent docs has been in Windows for so long that you could have the right to say no on the PPC.
Hi there,
Could anyone assist? I am trying to make a cab of personal settings to reset my registry settings to after a hard reset, but am having trouble with Permanent Save. I have contacts, appointments and tasks stored in the permanent area, and after I do a hard reset I can go into Permanent Save on the control panel, tick the boxes and all my contacts reappear and all is well.
However, if I take a snapshot of the registry before activating the tickboxes, and then afterwards and apply the differences, it overrights the existing data with nothing. The keys I have tried are
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\AdvancedCPL]
"CalendarPassCheck"=dword:00000001
"ContctPassCheck"=dword:00000001
"EnabledStateCalendar"=dword:00000001
"EnabledStateContact"=dword:00000001
"EnabledStateTask"=dword:00000001
"TASKPassCheck"=dword:00000001
It does work in ticking the boxes, but not in doing a restore - well only a restore to no data. Do I have to make some changes to any files as well?
Thanks!
Q.
Hello Q I'm in exactly the same boat, if you look at the \storage\persavebackup folder from you PC you'll see a bunch of files the saved info will look like TaskRecord.txt etc and yup they get overwriten with files of 0 value when I run my script and do a soft reset or add in new values.
I've tried copying files back into the persavebackup folder to see if they are then picked up but no joy - its very odd must be missing something.
I thought the entry HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Pim\schedID might be something to do with it as an entry is put in here when there is data saved with perm save but didnt seem to make any difference when I changed this.
if I get anywhere I'll post back.
Why would you want to use the permanent save anyway?
I mean, hey, xBackUp is there, innit?
Ok i've just thought of two things that are getting kinda irritating on my M5000.
Firstly the fact that no programs seem to un-install, Every time i try to remove any progs i get an error telling me that the uninstall was unsucsessful and asking if i wish to remove it fromt the list of installed progs.
Anyone else have this problem? is there anything we can do about it or is it a case of manually removing everything?
the other thing is the hotmail email account, i dont ever use hotmail and it annoys me having to scroll through the extra account in messaging. is there a way to remove the hotmail account?
Regarding your uninstalling problem. If it happens on all programs you try to uninstall, then your uninstaller is corrupted. If it only happens on one program, then it's probably just that the uninstall information of that program is corrupted. You may want to try other utilities to do the uninstalling (eg. SKTools).
About the hotmail, well, that's easy. Go to Messaging -> Tools -> Options, tap and hold on Hotmail, then Delete.
Have you deleted some files from "windows\appmgr" ??
I've not deleted or changed any files at all. i've had this prob with all three handsets i've had and never been able to remove programs. even since brand new. programs include sbp pocket plus sbp gprs, tom tom, code north irc, resco explorer.
i've just done a hard reset but not installed any exrom cab's so in the next few days i might figure out whats wrong.
i'm sure i've tried to delete the hotmail account before iirc the delete option was greyed out. again i'll have a look when i'm home.
FIRST: If the files have today plug-ins, you first need to disable those plug-ins prior to uninstalling.
SECOND: Have you ever tried changing your bootsplash screen using EnableRapi.CAB? If your answer is YES, then that is the culprit.
To bypass these problems, try to install the same file again, your Universal will show a window stating you need to uninstall the program 1st, press YES, then your Universal will also ask you later where to install it. You can cancel the install if all you want is REMOVE the application completely, or install the UPDATED application if that was what your initial intention.
