I have a Korean version of Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 SM-T210L and lots of korean language bothers me very much....
May I flash it with firmwares for SM-T210 but avoiding bricking it?
Or maybe there are working CWM or TWRP for this device at least?
I have the same Korean SM-T210L version and tried the firmware available for SM-T210. It didn't work, it hangs upon booting, showing the Samsung brand. I'm still looking for a solution.

I second that. We could really use a working 4.2 build!
#3 and #4: Since my SM-T210L is no longer working (after installing the SM-T210 firmware), I guess it would be of little use if I upload a system dump from my device. Please advice, I am lacking of experience.

Tried to ask samsung support here in germany today for a factory image, but they dont have any... They redirected me to a company, that repairs these devices for them, so I ll contact them tomorrow.

hmmm. another dirty trick by samsung. They fail to provide stock firmware to lots of devices. If the other guy responds I could help get the tab up and running. If it's partitions as I imagine stock would just be system and boot . My Galaxy Exhibit t599 was the same way without factory images

Doesn't KIES provide an "emergency" restore? If not all the more reason for you to try and get a system dump . Maybe you know someone who has a working tab? (Korean tab models aren't very common here in Berlin... )

No, unfortunately KIES is not capable of updating the firmware. It seems the SM-T210L model is not supported, too bad. Thank you anyway for the suggestion!

New Tab update
Hi all,
My kid was given a korean SM-T210L version Galaxy Tab 3, the android version installed on the tab is 4.1.2; unfortunately it does not allow me to upgrade any further. is there a root version that will allow me to update the operating software.
I have never rooted a phone or a tab before therefore will really appreciate any assistance.
Thanks,
Zach

To restore original version 4.1.2, I used below link.
https://drive.google.com/open?id=1zwvavvfWEMvzSMMc970N_uIsgrdn1bag
I tried twice with Odin 3.09, my tab was restore. For first fail, I don't know why to fail. But in second try I was working.
I wish that it will be helpful for you.
Also I am looking for upgrade version 4.2.
Solved - Rooted SM-T210L
(sorry to new to the forum to post actual links - reply if you need them)
I was able to root my SM-T210L using the same method that everyone else is posting, Odin (version 3.12.3 in my case) and using this compressed file T210.TWRP.2.8.0.0.tar.md5 You also have to copy SuperSU to your tablet (either on a SD Card or through a USB cable onto the device memory directly) search for SuperSU
Here are the instructions (most complete in my view) that seemed to be able to work for me. Go to droidviews site and search on the model to find the instructions.
Even though the image file does not have the model SM-T210L specifically, I did not have any problems with it and was able to root it successfully. I then was able to delete all of the bloatware that came with the tablet, especially all of the Korean based applications that I can't use.
Is there anyone who still have the SM-T210L firmware? Please give links for download.

Mine always fail on 98% . Can anyone share the default firmware?

I have a question about the exellent sounding ROM created by Shaheer.
I see that it is based on the stock US firmware: T800XXU1ANFB_T800XAR1ANF6_XAR (USA BASE)
I also see in the factory image thread which is also the stock US firmware that it is not working for tablets from other countries and that the firmware country must match the hardware country.
My Tab S is from Hong Kong. Does that mean that Shaheer's ROM will not work?
Thanks!

I tried it on a non US tablet as well, works fine - I think the restriction is only an issue when flashing via odin (the hidden.img check) usually fails.
Anyone have any idea if this ROM will work on Indonesia's firmware?
P.S. can't post at dev forum either due to minimum 10 posts restriction...

Worked on my non US Tab, I cant be 100% certain but it should be fine as long as you have a custom recovery - The only thing i noticed is obviously the US based firmware wont have any of the custom/regional apps that samsung bundle for your region.
People, if your firmware does not have this number in it this rom will not work for you.

Ahh. Gotcha. Yeah, I went to the link from the other thread to check out firmware too. But after download I seen it was a very small file (24.7MB) lol. Now I know why. Not fully uploaded yet. Lol. Thanks!
Sucks for recovery. But root right now is better than nothing. I'll root once firmware is complete.

SM-t807t root
I was looking for a root. glad it is finally out there. I dont know what i would do without these roots now that i have them. But i keep seeing TWRP and recovery and flashes. I have no idea what those are or what they entail. Can someone explain a little. Do i need those? If i install them/use them will i lose the root? Or are they recovery systems incase of a brick so i dont gain a 600$ paperweight?

For root, just flash the T805 root. Both are the same and should flash fine since tmobile tab s are the same as T805
Thanks for that !
I think I got it. If I follow the instructions here: techbeasts.com/2014/08/14/how-to-root-samsung-galaxy-tab-s-10-5-t800-t805-and-install-twrp-recovery
& use the 807T file from this site: CF-Auto-Root-chagalllte-chagallltexx-smt805.zip
I should be able to do it.

It all depends on your requirements. If you just want root and no custom recovery then flash the unmodified cf-autoroot.
If you want an updated version with an updated and fixed twrp recovery then flash my version.
Also note that the guide you posted does link to outdated software and also makes the install of both root and twrp a 4 step process.
Using my version it's a one step process.
The choice is yours.
I'm stuck
I got to the point where ODIN said it was done, the tablet still says Downloading but Odin said leave cs. Tablet won't respond at all.

This?
This is probably a dumb question, but is this firmware compatible with International G955F devices? ( the firmware is China's and I didn't know if it was compatible with other International Varients?)
Thanks for the help -
thank you for the answer - as for why I asked the question? I didn't know (or I forgot) that the Chinese Variant was a Snap Dragon - thank you for the kind and supportive response. You are a role model for how people should treat others who may not have as much knowledge as they do. I wish everyone was as supportive and kind as you are. :cyclops:
That's right, if you don't know something, you ask, otherwise how would you learn?
This is probably a dumb question, but is this firmware compatible with the Hong Kong devices? ( the firmware is China's and I didn't know if it was compatible with Hong Kong variants)
Thanks for the help -
I just got my hand on G9550 this morning. So I'm totally new here. My device is still on Android 7.0. Tried to update, but it says "The latest updates have already been installed". Can I update manually by flashing the new official Android version via odin? If I do so, will it trip my knox? Thanks
The only dumb question is the one not asked.....
As such this thread has been cleaned now lets keep it on topic

Lots of thing I don't really understand with the firmware. Bought used phone, turned out it comes with mixed firmware, TGY/hongkong CSC & AP, but VZW/US BL & CP.
After checking on Sammobile, my current firmware is quite outdated. But when I checked for the update through the settings menu manually, it said that this firmware is the latest. I guess the software update server getting confused since my phone has 2 different regions of firmware.
I'm afraid the previous owner intentionally flash VZW so the phone would work here in my country (not living in China). Can someone please explain it to me, like what might get affected if I change the bootloader & modem, the compatibility, etc? Is there any kind of 'irreversible' firmware? I mean like once the new version is flashed, it can't go back to the older one?

Yes. I changed CSC on a Tab S4 LTE with 256 GB internal RAM. I flashed it with DBT-Firmware from sammobile and Odin. Now I use it rooted with Magisk and cts-fix with Android 10. I have read much here on XDA. But I´m no expert in this, I understand it in the moment I use it and then I forget the details. Also I changed years ago a Samsung S4 with Alexandres debloated Software.

You can flash CSC only for your model or some "compatible" CSC for your device.(maybe "CSC"from another country)
