I think there will not be any development so soon since the kernel resources were not fully released. Atm, I will wait for unlocking bootloader and global rom.

It's a Mediatek phone, so don't expect any custom ROMs.
Take a look back at the Xiaomi phones released with Mediatek chips and see how little support from developers it got

Redmi Note 4 MTK has absolutely no support and never really received a working custom ROM.

Exactly. The only fully working custom is Xiaomi.eu which is based on stock firmware with a few tweaks.
Redmi Note 4 MTK was released with Android 6 (Marshmallow) and never received a working Android 7 (Nougat).
Redmi Note 4 Snapdragon was also released with Android 6 and received Android 7 (Nougat), Android 8 (Oreo), Android 9 (Pie) and there is already an Android Q beta version released.
The choice is simply: If you want a custom ROM don't buy Mediatek

Let's wait, we never know! The (partial) source code release is a step forward. I think that the "missing" code parts have with the LCD to do and not with the chip anyway.

There are many differences :
- Xiaomi never released Kernel sources on Note 4 (MTK), you can find Note 2 and 3's on their GitHub (very tardily released), but not Note 4's...they already release Note 8 Pro's
- Xiaomi didn't sell Note 4 in western countries...now they officially sell many devices in Europe.
- most western users bought SD625 version instead...MTK community wasn't that big
Sources are there, now Mediatek need a "best seller"...unless that, custom rom won't exist
In past, a team succeed in doing rom for several Mediatek's devices (M.A.D. Team)

Mediatek still isn't popular with developers and I wouldn't expect custom ROM. Snapdragon is always the safer bet

Aloha there
Can I ask serveral questions
1- Can anyone port oxygenOS to our device
2- Are there good GSIs for our device .. tell your story
3- a very noob question
Why is our form a small one ( i mean not in content but in frame) while other devices have bigger ones (also in frame not in content)
Thanks in advance

1. As of current there is no Oxygen Os port. I don't have the technical knowledge to be able to port it. Are there other Xiaomi devices with ports so I can contact the devs and inquire how they did it?
2. I imagine you can use GSIs however we have an improved version: fastboot ROMs. These not only have a system image to flash but also flash other partitions such as product and vendor. This makes the experience better. Examples of these ROMs are in the Dev section of this forum (e.g crDroid, AICP, HavocOS, ArrowOS etc)
3. I'm assuming you're asking about the forum. This is the way XDA are moving with having threads having a tag and being in one big forum. Because this device is new it was created with the modern XDA forum implementation
Hope I helped. Feel free to DM me if you have questions

Topaz is codename for Note 12 4G NFC. Indian version is codenamed Tapas and does not have NFC. Topaz firmware should be compatible with Tapas as the HW is same leaving the NFC component in the tapas model.
I wonder why company remove NFC in Indian models

Question: Need a bit more clarity please. When you say HW is the same leaving NFC component, do you mean it's the actual hardware that differs in each device (the
chip/coil not being present) or is it the software that is locked?

Hardware thing i guess. Cuz I've installed Miui EU version but still doesn't have NFC Support.
I have tried this one on my Tapas(No NFC) phone. Worked just fine for my usage.
