Redmi 7 Widevine security level - Xiaomi Redmi 7 Questions & Answers

Hello everybody. Has Redmi 7 Widevine L1?
Mine is Widevine L3, this is the reason I can´t watch Netflix in HD. You can check it with the app DRM Info at Play Store.
I would like to know yours.
Have a nice day, People!

L3 on latest MIUI Global and the same for LineageOS, but don't know if that's because root/bootunlock or if this device didn't had L1 before.

HD Netflix

Is there a way to watch Netflix in hd on this phone? I understand that the issue is with the DRM level, is there a way to change it? Is anyone else having this problem?
Do you have the hd subscription?

Yes, I have the 4k subscription, but if I look at any movie I don't see the little hd icon next to the title. Googling it I found out that this issue is related to the level of DRM the phone has which you can also find using the drminfo app. Are you not having this problem? Could you check your DRM level and tell me if I got a bad unit?
So I've googled it and it appears that Netflix use Google DRM called Widevine. Our devices do support Widevine 1.0 but unfortunately the second requirement is Netflix certification which unfortunately not all devices get.
There appears a way to bypass this where it tells Netflix servers that it's allowed to stream HD:

Pixel C and Widevine

Hi I'm considering getting a Pixel C but I want to know what the Widevine DRM is like. On my Shield Tablet I get L1 with root and unlocked bootloader according to DRM Info, but what is it like on the Pixel C?

I'm using Lineage 16 so I'm rooted and unlocked and I get Widevine L1. Netflix works, Prime Video works, Vudu works (Prime Video & Vudu both work on Chrome if you tick Desktop site as well as their apps). Do make sure to turn off Live Display / Night Light / any other screen color modification or you won't see a picture on most protected content apps.

Widevine L1, Possible after BL unlock?

I've seen that after the bootloader is unlocked the Widevine Certification is downgraded to L3, is there any magisk module or any way to edit the system files to get it back to L1?
P.S. I don't have any experience playing with Widevine certification at system level, so kind of a noob, so please explain easily

Well, it's a minor make up because the Safety net check is positive, the playstore is certified, and even when it isn't, just register the device with the gfs code and the financial apps work even without warnings hiding them on magisk hide, even netflix works installed from the play store, even if I don't have an account ...

Hmmm I use Prime Video a lot without L1 it's not possible to stream in 1080p right? That's why I'm curious.

My app doesn't give me that screen. It does not make me choose the resolutions but only gives me in the settings the streaming and download qualities that I set in Maximum.

Okay, it's not an option it just shows the quality of the video playing.

Rooting and keeping Widevine L1

I want to root my Galaxy S9 (Exynos) because I want to install stock Android. The problem is I can't find explicit answers if I am still able to view Netflix and Amazon Prime in HD quality or not. I don't care about knocking knox since I don't have warranty anymore anyway.
So will I still be able to watch Netflix in HD and use other apps normally that use Widevine L1?
Did you find anything?
Thanks.

DRM Lost - From L1 to L3

Hi guys,
can someone here confirm if widevine L1 is still present or lost in Netflix. Some devices (from other oems) lost their drm keys for unknown reason.
My RN8 (ginkgo variant) can no longer play netflix in HD ! I'm on LOS 17
ASUS finally has a software fix for phones losing HD Netflix support
The company previously asked owners to send in their units to get the fix

Please give me a feedback here ...

Ginkgo has still security level L1. So, HD streaming should work. Check DRM info from play store.
