Development Run Windows 11 VM on Pixel 6/7 - Google Pixel 6 Pro

Hi all,
I updated Limbo pKVM to 0.5.0. You can now run Windows 11 on ARM with KVM Virtualization now.
You need to flash a Magisk module to run unlocked KVM.
I need some testing & feedback on pixel 6/6a.
Need more tests on the Magisk module and more effective ways to add boot cmdlines!

Troubleshooting1. limbo return error:
xxxxxx D SHELLOUT: Could not access KVM kernel module: No such file or directory
0xxxxx SHELLOUT: qemu-system-aarch64: -accel kvm: failed to initialize kvm: No such file or directory
xxxxx D SHELLOUT: (exit code: 1)
xxxxx E MachineService: QEMU return error!
solution:
enable pkvm using fastboot:
"fastboot oem pkvm enable"
2. cannot run Windows and Unlocked UEFI:
solution:
flash the magisk pkvm unlock module.
If still not work, run "su -c cat /proc/cmdline" in the phone's terminal and check if the output contents "kvm-arm.mode=nvhe"
If not try flash the module one more time.

Interesting concept mate. I'm certainly curious enough to give Ubuntu a run

Hi. Where does one obtain the Windows Insider Preview ARM64 vmdk? Thanks

Hi, I tried loading the VHDX which Microsoft offers. Limbo couldn't boot from it so I converted it to VMDK.. which also couldn't boot. Any idea what I'm doing wrong?

I didn't test VHDX Maybe I‘ll upload a prebuild win11 disk

Thanks, after a few more tries with the converted VMDK it worked though. No idea why it didn't in the first place. After vmdk didn't work I converted the vhdx to qcow, attached all three disks and if suddenly booted the vmdk... I didn't change any other setting but after that boot each boot with the vmdk worked ...
I was now able to inplace upgrade the insider build to "standard" Windows 11 22624 and it works pretty well... Just audio is missing and the Limbo app dies each time the vm is shutdown.
Also reboots dont work of course because by that point I enabled all cores and with that the UEFI crashes but that's absolutely no big deal...
Overall: great app, thanks a lot!
Touch support via Microsoft Remote Desktop app is pretty good too...

Now that I think about it, another thing: the kvm unlock magisk module didn't work. I flashed it, rebooted, tried to boot the vm and got an error saying some kvm file couldn't be found.
I still had a Nestbox APK though, installing that and letting it unlock kvm worked.

I subscribed to kdrag0ns patreon. Never received nestbox though. Idk why..

I didn't mean any offense. Thanks for the file I'll give it a shot today
Edit. Mega file size is too big. Won't let me download it with free version

i enjoy running this as dual boot on my surface duo... definitely gonna try this

I installed the module with Magisk Delta, but it doesn't seem to be doing anything. I am running stock A13 ROM with december update.

Thanks, but even after doing:
PS C:\tools\platform-tools_r34.0.1-windows\platform-tools> ./fastboot oem pkvm enable
(bootloader) pKVM is enabled (fastboot=enabled misc=disabled)
OKAY [ 0.050s]
Finished. Total time: 0.050s
I still have kvm-arm.mode=protected even after reflashing the Magisk module.
Magisk log says this at the end:
[*] Setting executable permissions...
/data/user/0/io.github.huskydg.magisk/cache/flash/update-binary: /data/adb/modules_update/cmdpatch/customize.sh: line 6: cmdpatch: not found

Maybe it's a problem with Magisk Delta, since I have SuList enabled.
The VM actually starts now, but when connecting with VNC, it's stuck at "Guest has not initialized the display (yet)".

Thanks, but even after doing:
PS C:\tools\platform-tools_r34.0.1-windows\platform-tools> ./fastboot oem pkvm enable
(bootloader) pKVM is enabled (fastboot=enabled misc=disabled)
OKAY [ 0.050s]
Finished. Total time: 0.050s
I still have kvm-arm.mode=protected even after reflashing the Magisk module.
Magisk log says this at the end:
[*] Setting executable permissions...
/data/user/0/io.github.huskydg.magisk/cache/flash/update-binary: /data/adb/modules_update/cmdpatch/customize.sh: line 6: cmdpatch: not found
[*] finished patching kvm mode...
- Done
Maybe it's a problem with Magisk Delta, since I have SuList enabled.
The VM actually starts now, but when connecting with VNC, it's stuck at "Guest has not initialized the display (yet)".

It seems u failed to flash the module. Did u use magisk to flash this module? I never got this error before

So I was able just to use regular limbo that you can download from their website and I used a light version of Windows 11 that's a .vhd and had no issues. I want to look at a few githubs cause I see a few errors that I want to investigate. I like to tinker

Resurrection ROM Skype speakerphone issue

EDIT: this also happens on "Unofficial CM13" build, can't edit the title to reflect this.
Hi, sorry, I can't post in the Resurrection ROM's thread because I don't have enough posts.
Tried on latest stable and unstable Resurrection ROMs (0714), and skype mic does not work when in speakerphone mode. Here are the logs during the switch:
I'm not sure if this is the real reason, but according to the logs, it looks like skype is trying to access "speaker-mic" input, which in turn tries to access ACDB device id 11, which does not exist in audio_platform_info.xml file.

WiFi doesn't work in Lineage OS

Hi,
Recently, I have updated my Xperia to the last version of official Lineage OS (20170323) and I have installe the Hana kernel on the device.
I got bootloop but I wiped the Cache and System partition and the device started without problems; but the wifi doesn't work.
Can someone help me?
I have attached the logcat info when I try to create an WiFi AP:

Bluetooth pairing gets intermittently forgotten

Even after getting Android Wear 2.0 I'm still having this issue. At times (not every time) when I walk out of the phone's range and after I get back, the bluetooth pairing would be lost and I get the pairing request prompts on both the phone and the watch.
This issue is also being discussed in the Google forums as well, and is still ongoing.
It's not a big issue since completing the pairing will make it continue to function for the time being, but it can be annoying as if I'm not immediately aware of the problem the phone will keep making notification noises.
From the phone's logcat during the period I'm seeing something that makes me curious (The watch's Bluetooth device name and address have been obscured in the logs below since they're device-specific):

Screen regularly turns on

Hello,
a while ago, I started having an issue with my s4 mini (serranolte).
Basically, the screen turns itself on very often. For example, I press the power button to turn it off and after a second or so it turns itself on, stays on for ~10 seconds, turns off due to screen timeout, turns on by itself and so on.
I tried both with Lineage OS 14.1 and crDroid v4.4 (android 8.1) and the issue persists.
Here's a copy of the logcat taken while this happens:

Hoping someone can help
Ask me if you need to know anything else, I really hope this isn't an hardware issue...
Thanks, have a nice day
I've also tried flashing an older ROM, Pacman ROM (android 4.3) and I get the same issue.
This leads me to think it is an hardware related issue. Here's the Sensors output:

App Crashes - how to analyse Logcat?

Hello
An App keeps crashing randomly and I have absolutely no clue why. After a few minutes of research, I create a logcat file but I am still clueless how the problem occures. Any kind of help is appreciated.
