Question Black screen but phone turns on and laptop sees it - Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 (2021)

I was unlocking the bootloader (method from here - three steps, without waiting 7 days - https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/closed-unlock-bootloader-xiaomi-redmi-note-8-ginkgo.4551425/) and the first step was successful. I stopped at the third and then I saw that the screen is black, I don't see anything, it becomes a little light. I see that the phone turns on. In Device manager I see Android bootloader interface. Please help. I tried many films on YouTube. Is it bricked?

[Q] help: HOX in APX while dead

Hey guys
I have obviously an HTC One X, that started freezing all of a sudden and stopped charging, it even froze in the bootloader menu, then the screen turned off and I don't know what exactly the problem is, I tried everything I saw in every google page I found, and nothing helped, I took it to HTC and they had their all time favorite answer: "you have to change the motherboard", I am still not convinced of that.
anyway, that's not why I am here, the details are, the phone is not rooted, in the same state as when I got it, but with the last stock update that they released, when I connect it to the pc, the pc makes a sound and says that device is not recognized, until couple of minutes ago when I connected it, it's showing in device manager as APX, that's why I am posting.....
the screen is off,and I don't know even if the phone is off or on, and no led indicator that it's charging...
is there a possibility to fix it or is it gone for good?
before I go, yes I tried turning it off and on and every possible combination out there, under a bright light, in the fridge(kidding) still the same thing, but when I press the power button for more than 10 seconds while connected to pc, the pc makes disconnect/connect sound.
thanks for the help and sorry for the long talk.

P605 in need of some help.

Hi, hoping someone can help.
Having a major problem with my P605 (Hong Kong version), It just will not start up anymore.
Current State:
At the moment, with just the power button, it shows the samsung galaxy note 2014 logo. Then a few seconds later the startup sound will play. Then a few seconds later the samsung boot animation plays. Then once the animation stops and just displays the samsung logo, nothing else. It stays on that, and can stay on it for hours.
Note: The Samsung boot animation has a very pink hue to it, like the cyan and yellow are no longer there. More on that later.
With the Power + Home + Vol Up it says recovery mode is starting, then resets and boots as above.
With the Power + Home + Vol Down it goes into download mode no problem.
Background (Some of it may or may not be relevant, just putting it on here in case it is):
Up until a couple of weeks ago it was stock, but rooted JB (IIRC), then it was accidentally dropped (not by me). It is in a Trident Krakhen case, but that did not stop damage being done, the damage being the backlight stopped working. I followed a Youtube guide and removed/reinserted the ribbon. Put it back together and switched it on, and worked, sorted!
Now I thought as the seal of freshness has been popped, I may as well upgrade it to Lollipop so I can play Pokemon Go. As Lollipop has not been released for HK p605's I used the Irish (I think) firmware. Upgraded using Odin, no problem. So then I wanted root access, so I used the method described on XDA to root Lollipop using "CF-Auto-Root-lt03lte-lt03ltexx-smp605.zip". Again, flashed with Odin, no problem. But the root didn't take, a few programs randomly lost root access, others would not ask for access and just say the tablet was not rooted, etc. I reflashed the file at least 6 times to try and get it to take. Eventually it did.
Forward to the next day, I go to unlock my tablet and the screen has gone all pink, same as above, like Cyan and Yelow have gone. And a black shadow is over the left half of the screen. I restarted the tablet, colours came back, yay. All fine up until yesterday, the pink and shadow were back again. This was late at night while I was in bed, so not near the computer. I restarted the tablet. This time the pink stayed. OK, so I thought I will wipe the tablet back to factory and see if that helps (not done a wipe or anything else up until this point) so I try to go into recovery mode. It showed the logo and the little blue recovery text, then black screen, then normal boot logo and back into the OS. Tried a few times to get into recovery mode, but just kept resetting back to OS. So I told ROM toolbox to force a recovery restart, big mistake! It went into recovery boot loop. Just Galaxy Note 2014 entering recovery" then blank, repeat. No sound, nothing. I think that perhaps if I can turn it off, it may reset the whole thing, I put the tablet into download mode, then go to sleep. In the morning, the battery is dead. Great! Plug it in, instantly recovery boot loop. Fudge! From this point I don't know the battery level of the tablet, so that MAY be causing issues. I plug it into the PC to flash with Odin. Flashed stock lollipop, restarted, flashed stock bootloader, flashed CF auto root. Multiple times in each. Nothing seems to bring it out. The closest I got to something was the tablet telling me recovery was screwed and I needed to use Kies recovery. I left it plugged in for a few hours to try and build up some battery power, the PC does not provide enough power to charge, it makes the screen flicker rapidly when the battery is empty, but all the time while charging it is boot looping and the screen is on full brightness so I don't know how much I gained.
Finally flashed stock KK, and now it just hangs on the Samsung animation logo as above.
Is there anything I can do?
Does the pink hue and black shadow mean hardware is affected? The colours seem fine in download mode.
If anyone could help that would be great as I am scratching my head here.
EDIT 1: OK, I took the casing off, found that the little push on connector next to the usb connector had pried itself loose, I reattached it, and removed/reinserted the screen ribbon cable. All while the tablet was powered on (my old electronics teacher would have had a fit!). Restarted, the pink tinge has gone and the boot animation came up at the same time as the audio. Good signs. But still froze on the 'glow' effect. Tried recovery and YES it went into recovery, although the little android fell over with an exclamation mark over him. But still, progress. So now I am reflashing stock, will see how it goes.

Phone stuck in 4 color screen after following unbrick guide

Hi all,
I've been following the following guides for unbricking my zenfone 2 (ZE551ML):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/zenfone2/help/thead-bricked-phone-updating-to-mm-tips-t3452785
http://forum.xda-developers.com/zenfone2/general/guide-brick-soft-hard-bricked-zenfone-2-t3284256
However, I am stuck at the step where after the four color shows up in the screen.
Expected:
- phone displays 4 color screen
- phone proceeds to fastboot screen
Actual:
- phone displays 4 color screen
- nothing happens for several minutes
- phone reboots
- phone displays 4 color screen
- nothing happens for several minutes
- phone reboots
- phone displays 4 color screen
- nothing happens for several minutes
- phone reboots
- phone is now displaying black screen
I have double checked the instruction and I don't seem to be doing anything out of the norm. Can anyone help me with this?
Let me know if there are any other information I can provide to help debug this. Thanks!

Is the black screen glowing or completely dark? For me it also booted into a black screen but with backlight, I disconnected the cable and pressed the volume keys, then the fastboot screen came on.
Thanks for your replies, much appreciated:

Black screen is completely dark. It seems odd that it would restart by itself 3-4 times, show 4 color screen each time and *then* go into a black screen. I tried pressing the volume keys, but did not work.
Holy crap, this actually worked!: http://forum.xda-developers.com/zenfone2/help/zenfone-2-stuck-4-colors-fw-os-completed-t3506396
I did the following:
- opened up the back panel and unscrewed all the screws
- took off the back panel (its glued on so it needs a little tug)
- disconnected the silver tab shown in the photo posted in the OP with a tweezer (I had to disconnect both silver tabs)
... and it booted to bootloader!
My guess it that it needed a full battery disconnect before loading into the bootloader properly, which explains why some people were able to get unstuck from the 4 color screen from just letting the phone discharge over few days.
I'm now on TWRP and CM, thank you all!

Well, if you do that, you will void your warranty.
But congrats tho :good: happy flashing
Thanks for the tip. Unfortunately, disconnecting everything didn't solve the problem for me.

Are you seeing the same issue? Stuck on the 4 color screen?
@timeiscoffee, thanks for asking. I was able to fix the issue by using iFSTK to load a bootloader and flash raw LP file with AFT.

OP already solved the problem: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=70282541&postcount=5
I FIXED IT!!! After many many hours i managed to get off the four colors screen turning on and off...
While connected to the laptop, I let the 4 colour screen complete its' circles and the phone stayed in a black screen.
At that time i repeated the procedure with the xFSTK program and i got a success.
Afterwards with ASUS flash tool i flashed the firmware and the phone is working like a charm.
**The solution is to connect the phone to the laptop and wait until the 4 color screen stops coming back

HTC Desire 310 stuck on Logo screen - vol up/down + power button doesn't work

Hy everyone, first post here.
I've browsed the internet and this forum for a while now and haven't found a fix for this yet, so I've registered in order to ask if anybody has a clue how to fix the phone of my gf.
A little background story: The phone worked ~a year ago and has not been used since then, my gf lost her phone and wanted to use this one until she can afford a new one.
BUT sadly the phone doesn't cooperate.
After switching it on it vibrates once and shows either an illuminated black screen or the HTC logo with white background for around 10 seconds, then fades to black and repeats the process over and over.
Pressing any hardware buttons in every imaginable combination during any state of the phones starting process (before/during boot, removing and reinserting battery...) doesn't change anything at all.
Pluggin the phone into an usb port of my pc will make the phone repeat the procedure after a random amount of time.
Plugging the phone into a wall socket will make it show the battery charging bar for a few seconds and then repeat the above mentioned procedure.
The PC doesn't seem to recognize the phone (Im on windows 10, have not found anything in device manager).
There has never been any try to flash or root the phone, everything is stock
.
Hope I have not made any major language mistakes,
Huge thanks in advance for any help regarding my problem.

Recover photos and videos from broken Nexus 5X

Hello friends,
I’m new to this forum (or, any forum, really) and in desperate need of help.
Hopefully I'm posting this correctly.
In 2017 (I think) my mom bought a Nexus 5X phone. All was well, until suddenly it broke in 2019 and she had to get a replacement. There were a lot of pictures and videos on there (no SD card was used) that we do not have a back up of. (I know, that’s a big mistake...)
What happened: it just suddenly turned off and didn’t turn on anymore. When I tried to figure out what was happening, the only response the phone gave when I plugged it into my PC was a blinking red led underneath the screen. I figured the issue must’ve been with the battery. After a while, it didn't even do that anymore - not a single response was given.
It took me until 2020 to try to replace the battery with a new one. I think I managed to replace it successfully, carefully using two YouTube tutorials. When I held the original battery in my hand, I could bend it easily, so I expected that would solve the issue. But the phone didn’t give a single response to my efforts.
I also tried heating the phone as instructed in this video (with subs):
Again, without any success.
Since I didn’t want to give up on the stuff that is on that phone (precious memories of my cat who passed away at the end of 2020, for example), I randomly tried tinkering with it again a few days ago.
When I plugged it into my computer again, suddenly the red led started blinking again... And a few moments later, the Android logo lit up. Then the screen turned black again.
I noticed that when the phone was plugged in, my PC made this noise that recognizes something is in fact plugged in. However, it didn’t recognize the device.
After trying multiple times to hold down a few buttons, I first managed to get a screen that said “Firmware update”. It disappeared after a while, and showed a Google logo. I don’t remember exactly, but I think the time after that when I pushed the on/off button, the phone actually turned on and I could use it.
I could see all pictures were still on there. I immediately tried to copy them onto my pc but before I could do that, the phone shut off again and connection with my PC was lost. Battery was charged to about 70%.
I managed to reboot it a few times, but the time it stayed on became shorter and shorter. I wanted to try the debugging method and recover data that way, but it simply didn’t give me the time to do so.
A few days later, I still get the red blinking light and sometimes the android screen or a battery loading screen. Other than that, I can’t turn it on or get into safety mode, or anything like that. It *does* still connect to my PC, but doesn’t recognize the device.
TLDR; Nexus 5X shows blinking red light, doesn’t turn on and if it does, it almost immediately turns off again even after replacing its battery. All I really want is a way to recover the photos and videos that are on the device.
If anyone has any leads or tips that could be of help, they are most welcome.
