Question Beta android 14 - Google Pixel 6 Pro

I just android 14 beta I was on a developer preview. I've been trying to flash back to normal to lock my boot loader but I get a weird screen that lets me know my boot loaders unlocks and I could never lock the bootloader again because I never had an option to by updating it to the beta. Can I lock the bootloader now??

You can use flashtool to downgrade to a public release. Simply check the box's force flash partitions, wipe and lock bootloader

So that's the I've used the Android flash tool but after it's done downloading and doing whatever it does it doesn't lock the bootloader I get the screen where it tells you that your bootloader is unlocked with the little code that you going to look and it takes you to the Google page and tells you what it is. There's no option to lock it so I've been trying to figure out how to lock the bootloader back. I don't have a computer. I have a Chromebook so I can you know manually do the ABD or whatever it's called to do it through the command prompt.

Yes, you can attempt to lock the bootloader on your Android device. To get more information about anything you can visit howwmuch.net .To do so, you will need to go through the following steps:
Ensure your device is connected to your computer via USB.
Open a command prompt or terminal window on your computer.
Enter the command "fastboot oem lock" to initiate the bootloader locking process.
Follow the on-screen instructions, if any, to confirm the bootloader locking.
Please note that locking the bootloader may vary depending on the device model and manufacturer. It's essential to refer to the specific instructions provided by the manufacturer or seek assistance from their support channels to ensure you follow the correct procedure for your device.

Can't manage to unlock my nexus bootloader succesfully

Hello
I did accidentally have a power failure on my computer when flashing version 4.0.4 to my Galaxy Nexus and the phone keeps booting on recovery menu automatically.
I have tried to flash different version using fastboot and Odin but always get an error saying my bootloader is locked use "fastboot oem unlock"
When try to unlock using the command the phone displays a selection screen asking to unlock the bootloader YES/NO, If I select YES the fastboot line returns the following error FAILED (remote: Unknown Partition) and the bootloader keep locked.
I have tried a thousand times without success and I am not able to utilize any firmware because is not permitted until I manage to get the bootloader finally Unlocked.
Pls help
Thanks
How about you
a) Flash an official rom via stock recovery and try it then
b) Ask this question in the Questions and Answers section instead of the Development section because I don't see any development relevant information in this post...

Try using the Gnex Toolkit posted on the development page as a sticky.
since u can't use fastboot (and the toolkit is useless in this case), i think u should try odin
THIS IS NOT DEVELOPMENT

First of all, use ANY toolkit (Mine's in the description ^^)
Then unlock your bootloader (Open cmdthe type:
Code:
fastboot oem unlock
You'll need ADB/fastboot drivers installed, though...)
There's no point using a toolkit, how it sounds to me is you somehow messed up a partition when flashing the update.
As someone already said try flashing an ota update through the stock recovery (if you have stock recovery)
It was probably the bootloader that got messed up when your power went.
Try flash a new bootloader too, see how that goes.
Fastboot flash bootloader filename.img
I am having the exact same issue. Trying to flash, format or dare i even say erase won't do anything to the bootloader, trying to access recovery on mine it says failed, trying to unlock the bootloader through oem unlock, prompts the failed : remote unknown error code. :S
use the galaxy nexus toolkit to unlock bootloader, root
Apparently the power outage messed up your partitions, causing the unlock command to fail. And since your bootloader is still locked, both fastboot and Odin cannot be used to flash anything. If you have root, you can try unlocking the bootloader with the bootunlocker app.
PS: advice that says 'use toolkit X' is pointless by the way. Toolkits are just GUIs around fastboot and adb, if the raw fastboot commands don't work, Toolkits won't work either.

Thats true, every tool kit i have tried has failed, even fastboot commands, at least the latter tell you that it fails. Where can i download the bootunlocker app? Does my Nexus 7 have to boot into the rom to do this? Because mine can't. :S

It doesn't show the unlock has been tampered. lol. It shows your phone has been tampered with (unlocked your bootloader) and also shows on a different line that your bootloader has been relocked.
You need to unlock it like the first time. Go to the HTC dev site and get the unlock code. I would try to run the first one I got again first if you still have it in your email.

Your device is corrupt. It can't be trusted and will not boot

Hi friends
Please give me suggestion or guide how to solve problem about handset booting after mistakenly handset OEM locked through fastboot
It enter to fastboot mode but not going to recovery mode or restart in system mode
Is there any solution
If yes then please help me
fastboot oem unlock ?
Actually ive unlocked OEM and install twrp recovery and installed freedom os
Then while checking OEM status ive enter command fastboot OEM lock
It ask me I've pressed yes after that the massage is came after restart as your device is corrupt it can't be trusted and will not boot
After that it enter to fastboot but not going to recovery mode or system
While type command in fastboot OEM unlock massege come failed
This happens because your bootloader has been unlocked at one time. There is no going back, even if you use "fastboot oem lock" later.
Edit: Just noticed the part about your device will not boot. You need to find the system image and flash it. I read somewhere today that OnePlus just released the system image for 4.7.4.
Can you unlock again?
@op, IMHO the best possible solution will be to flash stock rom image and stock recovery if required but I think when you flash stock image it will also flash stock recovery.
When you turn off the phone and boot it with VOLUME UP plus POWER, this should send you straight away to Fastboot. Try if you can unlock again, otherwise... bad luck - you'll need a restore session with 1+.

Not to be unrespectful, but you're wrong, it is absolutely possible to relock bootloader without problems.
IMHO, trouble happened because he had a custom rom onboard... and a locked bootloader does exactly its purpose... to not boot insecure firmware!

After looking into it further, I agree with you. That's what I get for having a bootloader-locked Samsung device for two years. I must be getting rusty!
Yes, the bootloader can be re-locked. There may still be a tamper flag as with previous OnePlus devices. But having a locked bootloader with non-OEM software would likely cause the problem he is describing. So, he needs to flash the factory image from bootloader.
I've requested to 1+support for restore remote session
Support send me file link and l2 will assist me in within 2 days
DO NOT RELOCK BOOTLOADER UNLESS U READ UP FIRST!!!!!, its worth just waiting the few seconds after reboot, then to go and try to relock the bootloader

Did you by any chance re-lock the bootloader with a custom recovery and custom ROM flashed?
It's because of custom recovery.
Just flash stock recovery image before locking the bootloader.
This fixed for me.

You unlocked bootloader, flashed rom (custom) and relocked bootloader? Never lock your bootloader on a custom rom! Just enter fastboot again flash twrp (manual/force reboot recovery), copy internal storage to pc then wipe/format everything. Format data. Factory reset then flash latest official rom and reboot

What are the steps you took before relocking the bootloader?
In my experience, relocking the bootloader should be the last thing you do, after you've got a working/bootable stock ROM.

So, the OEM lock/unlock thing comes with a pretty big caveat, and you need to be aware of it: loss of data.
Every time you lock or unlock your bootloader, a wipe data is triggered.
Now, for as far as I know, to lock the bootloader, you need two things:
1. Stock ROM. Don't do this on a custom ROM!
2. following command, in Terminal/Cmd Prompt
fastboot oem lock
Of course, you need to be in fastboot mode, so if you're not, and if you're booted and connected via USB (USB debugging needs to be ON and RSA fingerprinting accepted), do:
adb devices
It should display your device here. This is just to make sure ADB is working properly.
adb reboot bootloader
At this point, the phone should reboot into bootloader, so now you can do the lock command
fastboot oem lock
Data should be erased and, in case it doesn't automatically boot up, you can reboot the phone.
Don't worry about the OEM unlocking option in Developer Options. You just make sure the stock ROM is functional before attempting to relock the bootloader.

no, i run the command and it asks for changing the oem lock setting in developer options, i reboot the phone and run through the setup process. Then when i enable developer options and check the oem lock option, it is greyed out.
Is it greyed out in the on or off position? Can you attach a screenshot? I don't remember the operations sequence... But I think the option was automatically switched back to the original position (off) when you lock the bootloader. I could be wrong though. So...when you run the "fastboot oem lock" command, it asks you to....what?
Set the option to on or off? Some screenshots from both the PC, with the message, and the developer options might help to clarify this.

A screenshot would be really useful. But don't worry about it. When you're back to stock rom and ready to lock your bootloader, we can resume this then. I think either we're missing something, or it's everything ok, and you just need to switch that option off. Though, I remember I didn't have to do it manually. But I could be wrong though.
So, don't worry. Enjoy LineageOS and we can resume this when you're back to stock ROM and ready to lock.

so after running the fastboot oem lock command, it asked this in the cmd
C:\Program Files (x86)\Minimal ADB and Fastboot>fastboot oem lock
...
(bootloader) Check 'Allow OEM Unlock' in Android Settings > Developer
(bootloader) Options
OKAY [ 0.080s]
finished. total time: 0.080s
when i rebooted the phone, it showed the screen saying that the bootloader was unlocked. also i had to re run the command because it was going to erase my phone but that din´t happend, after going to developer options the option was still greyed out.
The last 3 days i've tried some roms from here.first i've unlocked the bootloader in developer menu, then from fastboot with the unlock key provided by motorola website,i've tried different rom, didnt like that i cannot use bank apps.so i went for locking.full reset, adb enable, reboot bootloader, full flash stock rom (last one from Motorola),reboot to check, adb enable, reboot bootloader, run command " fastboot oem lock " once ,it asked for confirmation due to data loss, then run command " fastboot oem lock " once more, then reboot to os.everything went ok,device dont show that was unlocked

Question Unable to lock the bootloader

Week ago I flashed the android 14 dev, don't liked it and yesterday flashed A13 (TQ1A.230205.002) with Android Flash Tool. Today I saw that I can't add my credit card to the Google Pay. I checked in settings and found out that my bootloader unlocked but the button is unavailable.
What can I do?
If your phone was rooted, then do a factory reset. Download and install the Google Platform tools, or if adb and fastboot drivers are installed system-wide, that's fine.
Connect phone to PC in fastboot mode
Enter the first command "fastboot devices"
Then type, "fastboot flashing unlock"
Confirm on your device to lock the bootloader
That's it. If you want a detailed guide, here are the instructions on how to unlock/relock the bootloader on a Pixel phone.

Yes, of course! Unlocking and relocking will erase and factory reset your phone, I use Google One to take backups.
Alternatively, you can also use the Android flash tool, and it will automatically do it for you. You just have to follow the on-screen instructions, and it will ask for your confirmation to lock the bootloader, and you also get the option to wipe data (never tried unchecking the wipe data option).
Here is the video tutorial, if you need it.
EDIT: apologies for covering much of what has already been discussed by @wrkadung, got ninja'd a bit there...
I wouldn't risk locking the bootloader via platform-tools....so many instances from all the way back from the original Pixel has had countless members hard-brick their Pixel's relocking the bootloader.
The safest way to go about it is to use the Android Flash Tool to flash both slots and relock bootloader; most hard bricks happen when it's not flashed to both slots and/or the improper factory image is used...
But the OEM unlocking being greyed out is sometimes SOP after unlocking the bootloader. It's not really anything to be concerned about. If Wallet isn't working properly, it is doubtful it is simply having the unlocked bootloader; Wallet usually doesn't work when rooted than it is the fact of an unlocked bootloader. You should try Force Stop-ing and Clear Data Wallet first. Then even "uninstall updates" and/or revert to an older version before locking the bootloader. ESPECIALLY if you don't wish to wipe the device by relocking the bootloader...

Yes, definitely, a stock factory image is required. Most people directly lock the bootloader on a rooted phone using adb & fastboot commands, which results in bricking the phone.
On stock firmware, it is working perfectly. Right now I am working on a video tutorial for Pixel 7 and it worked fine without any issues, it was just bootloader unlocked device (not rooted).
