[Closed] is cm going to support MI5s?

Currently using Redmi note 3, with cm14 flashed.
If cm is also available on 5s, I think it will be an even better choice than google pixel.(considering the price)

it is snapdragon device, so i dont see why should not be development for it. also is chinese device. have to wait because device is quite new, only 2 months..

Looks like he is just flashing bgcngm his build, and reporting...
His normal remarks when he is building are different, so i dont think he is building for Mi 5 (s) :crying::crying::crying::crying:

When some developer buy this phone and xiaomi release source code, development can begun. Have to wait. This phone is only 2 months old.

There will be no CM for this device if there are no sources released by Xiaomi it's as simple as that. So probably instead of bashing people from CM for support that they cannot offer first step would be to pressure Xiaomi on their own forums so at least they are aware that people want it. I'm not saying this will change anything because as a Chinese company they probably care very little about free and open source software licences bounded with the source code they use and profit from but at least if every one interested makes a post there this issue will be highlighted. There is already a request to release the sources here http://en.miui.com/thread-407935-1-1.html

i heard xiaomi doesn't include miui's new feature on mi5s/mi5s plus's developer rom because stability is first
i think xiaomi making mi5s/mi5s plus's kernel source completely and they will release it if it completed

it's not a question of "if", it's a question on "when" they release sources. Have a little faith and patience =)

Not sure what you mean... It's pretty good support here.
Sell and get a OnePlus or something more mainstream if you don't like it.
Or the tools are available for you to build your own ROMs.
XDA is here for sharing work.
You also could have checked here before buying.
No one is entitled to third party software support and we are lucky to have so many devs working on the device.
As it gets cheaper more devs will buy as well. Mi 6 is good hardware but devs can't own every device at release price.

Not sure I changed a theme and was not able to change back to default. I posted on MIUI's forum and asked for help but only one reply which didn't helped. Other questions went unanswered too. But haven't tried on xda though. I didn't liked the fact that camera api2 is not enabled by xiaomi and you know what? I learned from MIUI forum that our notification LED is RGB but is limited to white color only by xiaomi.
Oneplus is not available in my country and even if Xiaomi gets any defect, no one is gonna repair because its fairly new here and almost everyone sees my phone doesn't know Xiaomi exists. Btw once I tried to build ROM when I had Mediatek phone and oh boi, it took forever for small modifications, learning will take long time and I don't have time for it, so no I will depend on others haha. And I hope as it gets older, more ROMs will be available, hope more like stock with less bugs, stock always have more customization from xposed.

Yup, he will come home at Saturday I believe and then he will work on kernel and GSI, A telegram group will be also up when he post the GSI

Phone uses a SOC that just does not get much development in general. It's not the A70's fault per se. See Google Pixel 3a, or Xiaomi A3. Barely any development. Most roms are just half-baked, have "sleep death" and whatnot bugs.
That said, check the SD 855 for example. Same story. OnePlus 7 Pro just got official LineageOS, but if you check Xiaomi Mi 9 or Mi 9T Pro - both are dead.
The SD845 had more development going on for sure. Oh well.

Development is already underway for a70. We already have a functional twrp and the dev's are completing the source compilation to start custom rom building. Just need to fix the fp part. Will be done in a timely manner because we have some great and dedicated developers onboard.

According to Xiomi, Mi A2 lite won't get Android 10
Is it true ?

Please at least make an effort and look at other Android 10 threads on the forum before making the exact same posts as said threads.
Here's the full lowdown:
- Xiaomi have to provide Android 10 to our phone as part of the Android One program.
- We don't know when we'll get it.
- The Xiaomi support agents definitely don't either.
- It has been shown many times that the support agents either don't know about the Android One program, the concept of Xiaomi doing ROMs that aren't MIUI or even the existence of the Mi A2 Lite Vs the Mi A2 (which are separate things).
- Please for the love of any and every God, either stop asking here and the Xiaomi support about it and use a custom ROM or just sit and wait and be patient like the rest of us. Thank you.

I also think that having a customer support that has little knowledge about its product is leaving a bad impression to us, at least they should foward our question to someone who can help more...
Altough i am thankfull for security updates, my phone is still working great, and android 10 will come, but when, no one knows yet...

It's because the job of the customer support is to help out with base level questions about a device, and Xiaomi's support will mainly be focused on and assuming the question is about MIUI rather than anything else since that's their primary version of Android that 90% of their phones run. This level of customer support wouldn't know a single thing about unannounced device updates, primarily because this kind of information is just never divulged to them in the first place. I wouldn't be surprised if most of what they come out with is just pure guesswork because they don't actually know.

After the confirmation from Xiaomi and seeing screenshots from Geekbench, we can say that Mi A2 lite update is in beta state and would probably be releasing update in the end of Q2 2020 (April).

What confirmation from Xiaomi? Again, the customer support don't actually know when it'll come out. Those Geekbench screenshots were for custom ROMs, not the official update.
This said, I agree that it's probably in beta and will be out in Q1.

Why not Q4 2020
Which rule forces Xiaomi for Q1? I cant see any rule for Q1.
I think Xiaomi forgot us and for the Android 10 update thing they still didnt even started to work on it.
But i have big hope for 2020 Q4. We will get Android 10 update with Mi A4’s Android 11 update.

Why would they be custom ROMs? Custom Android 10 ROMs were available since long ago for our device, why would've notebookcheck wrote an article about it just now?
We might get just a sec. patch now, but it'll be out soon, I agree on that.

I can say the truth but someone will make fake version. So its better to not know. I dont want to see fake results. Because this will cause fake hope.

General [CLOSED] EvolutionX for Marble in progress

We're fortunate that the Evolution X team has started working on the 3rd test build for Marble (Poco F5 / Redmi Note 12 Turbo). Development just began yesterday. Thankfully, there already prebuilt kernels/modules so test ROMs boots successfully. So far, SMS, NFC, Cam and other basic functions are operational. A crowd funding activity started yesterday and for those who might be interested to support may do so as the target is about halfway met.

i tried the 2nd build. wow, i like it, very stable. i used evo x rom on my poco f3 for almost 2 years. any plans to include mi sound and miui camera in this rom? really appreciate your hard work

We will include additional stuff like those once we start work on OSS vendor. For now, we're using a prebuilt vendor and kernel.
Also regarding the crowdfund, we've reached $323 and around $146 remains! Help contribute if you guys can!
