Hello everyone
So I switched from miui 13 eu rom to Evolution AOSP rom bc of the better battery life but I miss the better pictures on miui rom and other features. Im thinking of flashing miui 14 eu but I would like some feedback regarding battery life compared to AOSP rom. thanks in advance
I use AOD . So, miui is better than AOSP in this circumstance.

Are you on miui 14?
I personally don't like miui. That's why I can't really give you a comparison in terms of battery consumption between miui and AOSP Roms. But what I can tell you is: LineageOS 19.1 (Official) gives you the best battery life. (From my point of view) I had been using crdroid for a while but now I'm back on LineageOS. So crdroid definitely draws more battery. Crdroid is a good ROM with which you have many different setting options. For me personally, ROMS like Arrow, Elexir or Evolution X are much too overloaded and too much Google. That's why I keep coming back to LineageOS in most cases. But at the end of the day, it's purely a matter of taste.

How many screen-on hours do you get on LineageOS with a full recharge ?
I'm running the global miui 14.04 also debloated a lot ohh crap using the android universal debloating tool. I stuck with the miui for a few reasons , 1 camera 2 themes 3 dolby I can achieve the same battery life as most if not better than asop like Arrow witch I love , and miui EU love that as well running rock solid no issues..also rooted and running adaway and got to have your f-droid if it were not for the camera and uber that I must have i would be running vanilla Arrow build all day long...

I have to tell you: That I can not give any precise information. Because I charge my battery up to a maximum of 80% and never less than 30%. To maintain battery life. I like to play a lot of Asphalt 8, that's one of the reasons why I bought the POCO F3. And of course because there is a large selection of ROMs. A large display, a powerful processor, large colorful display. And it should also be relatively cheap. These were my purchase criteria. I always pay attention to how much battery goes on average after an hour of playing Asphalt 8. That's an average of 10% battery on LineageOS. With crdroid, the battery percentages went down faster. This is purely from my feeling and therefore I have no measurable values especially for you. Except for a screenshot of the overall battery usage. But it's not very meaningful.

MIUI 14's battery life is great, using Xiaomi.EU's version of the rom.
MIUI 13 was bad in terms of battery life and performance, I found it was worst than MIUI 12.5.

I've had a lot of luck with the Trinity Kernel on either AOKP or RAScream.

I'm running default kernel and LOVING THIS ROM.
i'm able to get a combined 12 hours standby time with 4+ hours screen on time on either AOKP or Liquid. Kernels don't seem to change much there.

Why don't you make a list of each rom you want to try, then take the time to flash each one and run each for about a week. Since battery life and performance is directly related to each users set up and personal style of use. This way in about 4 or 5 weeks you can actually make a determination on your own as to what is best for you.

In the middle of the graph, it goes from red all the way up to ~85%. The green bar below the graph also shows how long it's been charging which is DEFINITELY not 30 seconds.
best battery life is very subjective to the user. and remember that the display on this phone is power hungry to say the least. i hope that very soon all phones will come out with non removable batteries. people that need extra power can carry a portable power pack instead of an extra battery. and for those who complain about the longevity of the battery have obviously never used a phone with built in battery or done their research and are simply relying on that crutch of being able to swap the battery just because they can.
WOW...anyway....my point when i started this was that no one can tell you what works best for you...you have to figure that out on your own.

So your phone magically regained battery life?
You can clearly see the green charging bar in the middle, not to mention the fact that battery graphs don't go up by themselves.
I was using BlackICE 37 w/ the newest Air Kernel for a while and was experiencing some really good battery life!
I then tried Slim ROM with the same kernel and the battery life was ok...I'm now using the Samurai Kernel and I'm liking it!
Sorry no screenshots, but I have had 17hrs at 50% (about 7hrs were standby cuz I was asleep and didn't plug my phone in to charge over night!)

is in fact what I would do with this thread is to gather a bit 'of screen and then publish them on the start page so as to assist new users in selecting the ROM according to their needs, then of course every result will be based on usage of 'but if you can get many statistics can make an average of everyone!
Hi fellas..
I thought we needed one of these threads to get a clear image of how the phone performs IRL.
We all heard rather varying reports from the reviews, some good, other disastrous...
Here are the points to be considered while posting.
1. Please post your impressions of the battery here.
2. Please be specific about how you've used it during the day.
3. Screenshots of the battery settings are most welcome.
4. Show image of screen-on time as well as the list of apps
5. Brightness, is it auto? custom? If custom, %?
5. 3g / WiFi on? If yes for how long?
7. Haptic feedback?
8. Please share the details like which ROM,Kernel, MODs. :good:
Thank you!
I would also love to see how the battery performs. This is one of the main attractions for me. I understand that the screen is absolutely massive, but If I can get a full day of use out of it without needing a 4:00pm re-charge (my iPhone 4s) than I would be eternally grateful. I can't stand having a dead phone merely 8 hours after I charged it. Some days it`s dead by 2-3
I can't recall any reviews saying anything negative about the N1's battery?
Regardless, great idea for a thread -
I have been very curious how much the 'gestures while screen is off' affects battery life, in particular.

The battery on this thing is a beast. It isn't perfect, and I'm sure it could be improved somewhat, but it dominates everything else at the moment.

I think this is the best thing I've heard all month. Finally a great battery in a great phone! I would sacrifice a bit of CPU speed for battery life any day.
Does seem very decent!
Can't post any specifics right now, but the battery does seem very, very good!
I've had the OPPO Finder (x907) which was a cool device but even with even very minimal use could barely make it through the day.
I'm using the OPPO Find 5 (x909) which has decent battery life for a light-medium user, but would displease most users and all power-users.
With the OPPO N1, I'm still evaluating it's battery life but so far it's ridiculously better than the OPPO Find 5. Perhaps with the CM11 rom this will improve even more. Another cool thing, because the screen is so big...you can turn the brightness way down and the screen is still extremely readable.

Great to hear that there is a large improvement over the find 5. "Return to innovation", as they say . And I never would have thought that the screen would be easier to read when dimmed due to the large display. It makes sense due to the fact that the letters are displayed large enough to still make out clearly while the screen is dimmed. Neat!
Regarding the brightness, could you perhaps take a day to operate and monitor the N1 while on low brightness? I'm curious to see how much better the battery performs while in a dimmed state. To see if it makes a noticeable difference.
N1 Owner
i used OPPO Find 5 as a daily driver it was doing ok, but once i got N1 it amazed me with it's battery life, sometimes i can use it for two days
or one day for full heavy use, which means around 4-6Hrs screen on, with Wifi and playing games (candy crush sometimes for 2-3 Hours) and it still got some battery life.
I really recommend it.
Anyone else using the snapdragon battery guru app? I have to wait another 3 days for the battery savings to start. I was using it for half a day yesterday but I was forced to reinstall when I tried to install some see-through CM theme that messed up the themer. So beware of that.
I can actually play games for hours at a time on this phone. Whereas on my other phones the heat and battery drainage prevented me from doing so.

Good Battery Life
Battery life is pretty good for heavy users too. I won't say its the best, I think Note 2 was better on TouchWiz, but its not bad by any yardstick. If you are worried about battery life, keep that aside in case of N1 while using ColorOS. I can't speak for CM or Omni atm.
Battery life is pretty good.. Depending on the OS I use. WIth CM10.2 which it came with I am usually able to get about a full days worth of battery life with around 40-50% left. Obviously depends what I do with it during the day. Most of the time I surf 9gag, read emails, chat. The usual. I occasionally use Plex to stream media from home which drains the battery more.
I noticed when I used ColorOS though, the battery life was severely diminished. I use the program Battery Widget Reborn which gives me a rough idea of how much battery life is remaining. on CM10.2 it would report a full charge can usually last at least 1 and a half days to 2. But in ColorOS, the program reports that on a full charge I can only use the battery for 23 hours. In reality, I normally find myself at around 20-30% when I go to bed. (the phone is generally unplugged at around 8am when I head for work and replugged to the charger at around midnight.)
Both were pretty much configured the same with 3-4 widgets on the home screen with nova launcher and Zedge changes my wallpaper every hour. I read emails often and do chatting occasionally. and surf 9gag often.
I would be disappointed if the N1's massive 3610 mAh battery couldn't compete against the other flagship phones especially when the other phones all use the more battery consuming LTE radio vs Oppo N1's HSPA+ only radio chip.
About battery life - my statistics...
I have just played with my brand new toy, so it is not a normal use for me...

my personal review about its battery is actually
depend upon its battery capacity....
for example. We've found here,
the non-famous brand with a power of 1500mAh,
it seems a little,
but if we compared towards its performance with its high usage,
it is still fine.

Mind you, my 2 hours GPS is using real GPS while going out on my bike. Drainage is around 10% a hour while playing music on the speaker as well. I never turn off GPS positioning on the phone.
Anyway seems like battery life on 4.4 is on par with 4.3... Would probably be a little better if using ART but qremote won't work so... :crying:

I've seen vast improvements in terms of battery life on KK. But I ended up sticking to MIUI as the custom kernel in it gives me the best battery life I've seen on this device. I've done extensive tests on ways to improve battery life across all of my devices for the last 3 years and it mainly seems to boil down to the kernel. As we don't have any custom kernels that support 4.4 or a stable 4.3 kernel, we're stuck using the default CM kernel. The new MIUI over in the general section includes a very well made custom kernel that includes the intellidemand governor which would give me around 6 hours of screen on time in a days use with normal usage with the setup I use. MIUI also gives me the best deep sleep I've seen on.. Well, any device I've used lol. Never been a big fan of it but the battery life is what made me change my mind. It also includes a working version of qremote. The only drawback I've seen is that it's on 4.2.2 but man, is it nice. I'd post battery life screenshots but they wouldn't really be helpful as I've changed to the 9300mAh ZL battery lol.

Hi,
I'm looking for your suggestions on the best/most stable and battery efficient rom for this device, i've been on the release channel for CM12 but experiencing battery issues, my device is over 2 years old and i will swap the battery but i'm still looking for suggestions to what the most stable/battery efficient rom is now for this device, i am willing to downgrade (os version) if necessary, at this point i just want a really stable working phone, the honeymoon phase is over
thanks!

With normal usage it's average 2-3 days.
Stock 4.4.4 with locked bootloader. All crapware freezed + some services i found useless also disabled. Lux brightness to keep screen relatively dim helps alot too. Couple of xposed mods and just make 100% sure nothing wakes phone up from deep sleep. Use HSPA /HSPA+, avoid LTE as it draws 2-5 times more power. Always prefere Wifi as it's most energy efficient.
These numbers should improve with new battrey and it is very stable. Last time i did reboot was previous year.
For me personally, CM11 (KitKat 4.4.4) is absolutely the best option for stability and battery life.
There's no ROM as solid as CM11 still...

wow that is crazy battery life compared to my z1 compact which barely makes it 1 day and that's only using it to listen to podcasts taking a few calls, i am on CM12 nightly updates channel, but i believe my battery is shot too which is why i am switching it out for a new one.
I am going to downgrade to CM11 Stable i guess as it seems to be the best way to stay away from sony's stock rom that i absolutely don't like.
Is this the ROM you recommend for CM11 : https://download.cyanogenmod.org/?type=snapshot&device=amami
Or is there any one else with possible security fixes you would recommend? Thanks!

I'm personally happy with the battery life of cm12.1. Without heavy usage, it last 2-3 days for me.
Anyway, haven't tried myself, but there's a cm11 with security fixes in this thread:

Hi there,
just finished a new build. Besides the monthly Google security fixes, I also went through recent kernel patches and applied them since the CM11 branch of the Z1C kernel is not maintained anymore. So the changes include:
April Google security patches
fix for CVE-2015-7550 (Kernel)
fix for CVE-2015-8785 (Kernel)
fix for CVE-2016-0723 (Kernel)
fix for CVE-2016-0774 (Kernel)
fix for CVE-2016-0821 (Kernel)
fix for buffer overflow in msm perf (Kernel)
You can download the build here:
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24459283995316619
If you know of any other kernel CVE's, let me know and I'll include fixes in the next build.
Seeing as there's a bunch of patches I applied manually and since I don't run CM11 anymore, I'd appreciate a quick confirmation that the ROM still runs OK.
Best

Thanks man,
I might stay on 12.1 for now until i've swapped my battery out to see how much of my issues is directly related to bad battery. If i don't get more then 1,5 days on the new battery i'll try that build, thanks for the tips everyone!
I'm on CM 12.1 with some apps frozen and am getting around 3 days with light use, and mostly wifi for data connection. CM is very solid. I also remember the original stock Kit Kat being great, but the amount of crapware it brings along is unbelievable.
What I definitely DO NOT recommend: Resurrection Remix. I tried just for fun (and to check on Marshmallow) and it's a total disaster.

Mail, Music, Browser, Calendar... I'm not using the standard ones coming with CM, so there they are. I realize there is probably no impact on performance or battery life, though. Anyway, I'd prefer that CM allows me to remove them.
I use the latest MIUI for our device, and I can say, without any internet connection, only other daily stuff, like music, calls, messages, it takes me 2 days in once charge. With some occasional email checks or facebook checks, still almost 2 days.
Worth mentioning, that I had the battery discharge problem too and I sent my phone in for repairs, so my battery is literally new.
with stock LP and light user but with my smartwatch 3 all day BT connected and using Google FIt easily two days battery life (phone is almost 2 years in use now).
So, i'm happy with stock........
Swapped my battery out and the phone lives around 1,5 days with all my mumbo jumbo i got going on, i have ton of podcasts and lots of apps that gives me notifications, i am happy with it now, running the latest nightly CM 12.1
Battery issues - same? ... and how are you finding CM12?
@d4rk0n3, I too have battery issues - sudden drain, when the battery had plenty of charge (sometimes 80's% or even higher). All very odd. Phone feels warm sometimes on the back. Is that the same as what you had? If so, maybe I'll change the battery (was that easy to do? did you buy a kit or something?).
But once that's done, do you think CM12 nightlies are the way to go for efficient use and battery life? Or CM11. Seems like the CM12 ROMs are much better maintained, and that's where the development effort is. Any advice?
Hi Everyone,
The F62/M62 is a battery champ for sure, but a lot of reviews indicate that the efficiency is not as great as the M51 with the 730G. Please post your screen on time so that everyone could benefit from it.
PS: I saw in the M51 thread that people were getting 15+ hours of screen on time by disabling a lot of useless apps using Samsung Package disabler pro. Has anyone tried something similar on F62?
Cheers!
Following. I get 17hrs+ on my M51 with Greenify and certain apps disabled. Interested to see how F62 performs in comparison.

I am getting 10hr of screen on time on average on Samsung f62.
Cons :
Other then that I face random heating near camera
GPU is not that powerfull, Jitters while playing in full graphics : cod, pubg, asphalt 9.
It took 2 hrs to charge the phone.
No system app lock.
Pros :
Display is awesome.
Camera is superb in daylight images.
Full Knox support
Waiting for custom ROMs.
Hi everyone,
Just got a new F62 but I don't find this to be a battery champ. I hardly get any screen on time and the usual brightness is just good enough to see the screen in the dark. Attached is my battery usage. (working from home don't need high brightness). Not entirely sure if this is an issue with my device or if I'm missing something that I should be doing (removing useless apps and installing greenify)
Seems like a lot of people don't know how to measure SOT.

What would be a better way to measure it in that case? I'm sort of a noob in this

You know although it may seem alot by the total time it was unplugged, I didn't use it much in the last 2 days as you see, just 5.5 hrs in 48 isn't much

Exactly.... i have samsung f62 device. The battery backup is just fab. When it comes to gpu at starting while playing a high end game like asphalt or cod the performance was about 60 fps. Gradually devices gets to heat up and the cpu tends to be slower like it literally drops to 30 in order to reduce heat and yhats a bad thing in this software as of mi and oppo phones the software won't reduce cpu speed even when device gets hot but thats not safe anyway as it may explode. So what's the thing? Nothing just wait for the update of play those high end games in a cool place where cpu gets cooler even when gpu is hot

Lol. I don’t even own this phone anymore. Gone back to using the weak note 20 ultra battery.
So far I've managed 10hr 14min with 26% battery still remaining.
That was 2:30hr using Google nav on max brightness. The rest was mostly watching YouTube with mid brightness. I use digital wellbeing to measure my screen time.
Note: My phone is running the latest F62 firmware and I have partially debloaded my phone with ADB
I am getting 10 Hr average SOT with a full charge, almost 10% drop overnight. Software is poorly optimized. Samsung is doing nothing about it. My phone is under the Flipkart Smart Upgrade Plan so I can't even do anything. This is not the performance of a 7000mah battery, I thought the heavyweight was a tradeoff but it's not. Feel cheated.
I can do between 13 and 16 hours of screen time, if I turn on power saving, limit CPU by 70%, reduce brightness by 10%, I get more than 15 hours easy! I also disabled some apps, which maybe helped the autonomy!
