Question Query regarding OS Downgrade on Poco F4 - Xiaomi Poco F4 (Munch) / Redmi K40S

True to my knowledge, if the Rollback Index of the Fastboot ROM is less than the current device rollback index, then we cannot flash that ROM as it will trigger Anti Rollback Mechanism, which might end up hard-bricking the device.
In my case as well, my Poco F4 running Android 13 has an ARB of 1 whereas the Android 12 Fastboot ROM that I have has an ARB value of 0, so this means downgrading should not be possible.
However, I have seen across other Xiaomi device forums on XDA wherein users did manage to perform a downgrade simply by flashing the downgrade firmware via Mi Flash Tool.
So is there something specific going on with Poco F4 or I'm missing a point there? Any insights on the same will be highly appreciated.

Don't worry about downgrading OS version from 13 to 12, you just need UBL... and you can flash ROM from anywhere, global, EU, Thailand and more.
Jangan khawatir tentang menurunkan versi OS dari 13 ke 12, Anda hanya perlu UBL ... dan Anda dapat mem-flash ROM dari mana saja, global, UE, Thailand, dan lainnya.

Well, this is what I knew in theory as well. But in practice that doesn't seem to be the case. Aa far as I know, you could only flash a ROM if its Anti Rollback [ARB] Index is equal to or greater than your device's ARB.
And after updating my Poco F4 to Android 13, its ARB is now 1. On the other hand, all the Fastboot ROMs that I have tried to date [Android 12, Android 13, Global, India, etc] have the ARB 0 and hence they all refuse to flash due to the rollback index. Just to be double sure, I took the risk and proceeded ahead to flash them, but the Mi Flash Tool straightaway refused it due to ARB.
So is there any other way out of getting this job done? Because as of now, I could only go from one custom ROM to another, but cannot flash the stock Fastboot ROM. [And yes, my bootloader is unlocked throughout the process].

let me know your failure image I will tell you the lines you have to remove so that it doesn't fail on flash.
beri tahu saya gambar kegagalan Anda Saya akan memberi tahu Anda garis yang harus Anda hapus agar tidak gagal saat flash

Does Mi9 SE have rollback protection?

Hi all,
I was searching the whole internet about this question:
Does Mi 9 SE (global) have rollback protection?
I found a list of Xiaomi Devices here:
https://www.xda-developers.com/xiaomi-anti-rollback-protection-brick-phone/
It seems not to be up to date, there is no Mi 9 or Mi 9 SE mentioned.
Any feedback appreciated.

Rollback protection is a mechanism to prevent MIUI downgrades.
So if you flash an "older" version of MIUI than your phone has installed, the phone gets bricked.
I found, that my Mi 9 SE global has rollback protection by doing the following (assuming, on your Windows PC you got installed all necessary drivers, adb tools and all the other tools for unlocking and flashing):
Boot your phone in fastboot mode and connect it to your PC
In a DOS box:
Code:
fastboot getvar anti
If you get a result
Code:
anti: 1
your phone has rollback protection enabled. This index seems to be incremented but never decremented.
This index on your phone has always to be smaller than the index of the ROM you are flashing, else you brick your phone.
Long story short: my Mi 9 SE has rollback protection
This doesn't prevent me of flashing a custom ROM, but it means to be more careful because there will be no way back if an update is buggy.

Kassi

I want to return ABSOLUTELY to android 9, then downgrade, tell me the procedure to do, step by step or where can I look? I am new to the Forum.

Until I know, the recommended way to downgrade is flashing a fastboot rom via flash tool, search in YouTube.
don't try flashing trough custom recovery is highly risky

All your data will be lost, you need download the correct rom for you device, I see you have the EEA variant, so search in Google for the fastboot rom PGGEUXM...
Is it possible (safe) to downgrade in this way - to put android 9 (it is downloaded through the phone and moved to pc.) in folder "downloaded_rom" and restart the phone?
I downgraded to miui 10 via MiFlash and fastboot rom.
I flashed 10.4.2 indonesia rom, which is the best Miui version, at least in my opinion.
@mejgs
You tell me how you did it step by step. Where can I find the right firmware to install, since I have the global version?
I also have miflash.
on this page , https://xiaomifirmware.com/roms/miui-roms-redmi-note-8-pro-begonia/
I take
ROM stable Europe (SEE) - Redmi Note 8 Pro
V11.0.3.0.PGGEUXM in Fastboot?
and how do I install it on my mobile phone?
Then, do I have to enable the bootloader on the mobile phone?
what are the precise steps to take?
thank you

Firstly, you have to unlock the bootloader, and wait 168 hrs for it to be done.
1) Download MiUnlock tool amd follow instructions
2) Download MiFlash tool amd follow instructions

If you're going to lose all your data when downgrading, you might as well try a factory reset in Android 10 first. If it still drains fast, then downgrade.

Reboot and hold volume up till you see the recovery menu. In recovery, select "wipe data/ factory reset" and reboot. Try it for a couple days to build some battery stats and see if it's better. Backup your data first of course

I think I don't solve anything with this procedure.
for me it is the same reset done by the internal settings from the mobile phone (already done 2 times).

Updating phone's firmware

Hello,
I've just come up with a question regarding the update of the phone's firmware.
As far as I know, there's only one version of this phone (in the sense that there aren't Global/China/India versions) but depending on where you buy it comes with one or another version of MIUI.
Seeing that on XiaomiFirmwareUpgrade we can choose between 3 different versions of firmwares (global, EEA, India and China) my question is: does it even matter what firmware version do we install on our phone?
Or even clearer: can we safely use the weekly Chinese firmware even if we use our phone in any other country or part of the world (let's say America or Europe) or will we experience performance/connectivity issues?
Thank you very much.
Yes it does matter
China version will have a load of bloat apps designed for the Chinese Market that will be totally useless outside of China. Probably will have a load of other stuff included which will not function correctly outside of China.
EEA version is specifically for Europe which complies with GDPR laws so if you're not bothered about that you could use the global version instead.
I'd stick with what ever comes on your device in terms of stock rom.
If you're going to unlock the bootloader you might as well flash a custom rom
There are two different device boards of "this phone", both with slightly different hardware (camera module e.g.) and accompanying different Firmware (also note that the concept Firmware and ROM is not the same, i.e. the official ROM's contain specific Firmware to 'control specific hardware' next to the Android version, apps, scripts, ...). There are also three different device models and three different device names. All these serve five different regions, ...
1. Xiaomi
Device Board: GAUGUIN
Device Model: M2007J17G
Device Name: Mi 10T Lite
Regional Products: Global, EEA and Taiwan
-> all have different ROM content (obviously for the different regions) and will only work best on this specific device board (only these are interchangeable). This is also Xiaomi's official Android Enterprise Recommended Smartphone
2. Xiaomi
Device Board: GAUGUINPRO
Device Model: M2007J17C
Device Name: Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G (China Region)
3. Xiaomi
Device Board: GAUGUINPRO
Device Model: M2007J17I
Device Name: Mi 10i (India Region)
-> all have different ROM content (obviously for the different regions) and will only work best on this specific device board (only 2. and 3. are interchangeable).

Edit: typo's, layout, ...
Thanks to both of you for taking the time to answer this thread.
I've just checked, and my device is the M2007J17G.
My question was regarding not the ROM (as I've already flashed a custom rom) but the firmware.
On the XiaomiFirmwareUpdater website (https://xiaomifirmwareupdater.com/firmware/gauguin/) there are different types of firmware for the "gauguin" model: China, India, Global and Europe.
Right now I am using the last weekly Chinese firmware (21.7.21) on my MI 10T Lite, but I wanted to know if installing the European "version", for example, would make any difference, as from what I've read, the firmware contains the modem and other connectivity related things.
Hope my questions is clearer now.
Thanks!
We both answered your question quite well, although in a different way. Please also read:
PSA: Flashing MIUI Global on these Xiaomi devices may brick your device
If you flash MIUI Global ROM on certain Xiaomi devices with a locked bootloader, your device will not boot. Here are the Xiaomi devices that could brick.
www.xda-developers.com
Don’t flash official GAUGUINPRO ROM/FirmWare/Vendor on a GAUGUIN device or vise versa, as it does make a difference (you said it yourself "the firmware contains the modem and other connectivity related things"). It could lead to all kind of (future) problems and even ‘brick’ your device (if you try to relock it with MiFlash). Don't push your 'luck' any further !
You’re free to flash any official Global, EEA or Taiwan ROM/Firmware/Vendor to your Mi 10t Lite (not China nor India Firmware/ROM/Vendor). Personally I would stick to what came with your device and 'strip it' to the bone ;-)
What region do you live in? -> don't answer this, just flash the right firmware ;-)
PS: XiaomiFirmwareUpdater is not very clear about the obvious differences between GAUGUINPRO and GAUGUIN at all.

In case of this (unofficial) xiaomi.eu custom ROM weekly build 21.7.21, it all depends on what official (stock) ROM was installed before you decided to unlock your device and flash this custom ROM. If i.e. it was the official Mi 10T Lite EEA ROM, it does not matter as the (unofficial) xiaomi.eu custom ROM's uses that Firmware anyway (it does not change it, it rely on it). If i.e. it was the official Mi 10T Lite Global ROM, it does matter as EEA is a different Firmware, ... ;-)
Feel free to flash any official Global, EEA or Taiwan Firmware/Vendor to your Mi 10t Lite, according to your region (do not flash China nor India Firmware/ROM/Vendor).
PS: to me, these (unofficial) xiaomi.eu custom ROM’s are becoming somewhat “redundant” (unless you want to test out MIUI's latest evolution and apps, because they are 'build' on China's weekly ROM's), as Xiaomi is making their own official EEA (EU) ROM’s for some time now (they did not do that in the past, that’s why xiaomi.eu custom ROM’s where made in the first place).

Edit: typo's, ...
Thanks for your answer.
Got it pretty clear now.
The phone originally came with the European rom, so following your advice, I'll stick to European/Global/Taiwanese firmwares.
But when you use Xiaomi adb debloater, without root., Just rurn on usb debugging mode, the phone, and the rom is Awesome. Even MIUI is smooter and fastee. Lighter.
Battery is last longer.
I use redmi note 9oro 5g, and dont olan to change chine rom. I delete over 50 apps, but now phone working perfectly..
Even after 12.5 .3 , google services works.

This way your phone will be reverted back to Android 9 WW Firmware. Then you can stay with it or update to Android 10, that's what I did.

Hi…
can I know why nobody in this group helps me?
Have I offended someone with my messages?
I flashed the phone, I succeeded but I have the update problem
Evidently I had to change the imprint
Now is there a way to change the footprint, or am I forced to do everything from the start?
Thanks!
I wouldn't blame others, they don't owe you anything. And take into consideration our phone is not hot and there is not a lot of people here.
Regarding your question - one more time, I'm not 100% sure about any of my advices but if you wanna tinker with system fingerprints I would try this module for Magisk:
MagiskHide Props Config
[MODULE] [DEPRECATED] MagiskHide Props Config - SafetyNet, prop edits, and more - v6.1.2
MagiskHide Props Config v6.1.2 Note: This project is dead, and has been for some time. I have not been involved in the Android modding scene for some time and I no longer have the energy to take it up again. If anyone feels like taking over...

flash misc partition, reboot (may be you will need to remove frp/pin code)
If you have the Chinese version use this program.
It downgrades it for you without having to be unlocked or rooted. You'll just have to translate the text to see what you're clicking on because it's in Chinese.
