I am just curious, will it? because the note 10 lite wont get it.
This is a 5 year old phone, the latest firmware released last November is Android 10. It's safe to say this phone likely will not get OneUI 3.0, never mind anything newer.
If you're talking about custom ROMs, check out this section.

Just saw this on SamMobile. Anyone else heard anything about 8.1
Nothing on my end.
That's for the Galaxy Note 9 (N960), which runs on 8.1 instead of 8.0 like the S9 (G960). Officially the S9 will likely not be updated to 8.1, but will get a 9.0 update whenever Samsung releases that.
My bad... Can't believe I typed that in wrong. Had the note 8 before the S9. Thanks for the response
Samsung doesn't really apply the full security patch all in one go. They usually apply the security updates in 8.1 to 8.0. So basically it will be the same as 8.1, whenever Samsung actually get around to releasing any sort of update
Hello. I bought this phone since my Galaxy Note 4 SIM slot is destroyed. Is a pretty decent phone and it run good for all the things I use on it. But the only thing I am wondering is, If this phone will have Oreo Update? On some pages like GSMArena is mentioned that is planned an Android 8.0 update, but date is not given. So I wanna know if some others variants besides J250M (the one I have) has the update available.
And my other question is, is there a way to enable themes with/without root? Thanks to everyone who came and give me an answer though.
Same problem
Please help us get themes on this phone.. been trying to get since last year

The only reported information was in the Samsung Members of India, that Android Oreo would be rolled in January 2019 for SM-J250F.
In Samsung Members of Brazil, nothing was said of SM-J250M.
And also nothing is known about SM-J250G and SM-J250N.
It's quite possible that it stays on Android Nougat.

Without root, you can install Samsung Themes, but you can not install Theme Manager.
That is, it will not work.
With root, no tutorial has yet appeared.
Tutorials for the Galaxy J2 2015 and Galaxy J2 2016 (which supported themes but not the theme store) are not valid for it.
Hi all.....
I live in middle east and I bought unlooked Samsung Note 10 + USA version with Android 9 and I don't have AT&T sim card so when I tried to update through OTA it says "you have the last update" but others got android 11 and I still at android
is there any solution ? Please help
Updates ( read: patches ) get rolled by OEM / carrier if they deem it necessary.
What you probably mean is Upgrading from Android 9 to Android 11. IMO this you only can achive by flashing a Custom ROM based on Android 11 what is suitable to your phone.

Thanks for your answering I meant that my phone stuck at Android 9 and I couldn't upgrade since I had the phone So my question was can I upgrade to Android 11 by Odin and still get official updates?
And I actually didn't know what is the right rom for my phone
I have a Samsung J2 SM-S260DL still stuck on Android 8.1. Some of the apps I use are now only compatible with Android 9 +. Does Samsung automatically update the phone's Android ---because I contacted Tracfone and they told me it's up to the phone manufacturer. I tried the phone's software update, but don't get the 9 update.

Android 8.1.0_0008
Build MTAJQ.S260DLUDU2ASE4
Kernel 3.18.14-16126611
I don't think Samsung after 4 years of releasing this phone has the motivation to improve Android 8.1 Oreo (Go edition) to version 9. Enjoy what you have.
p.s.
What compels you to look for android 9?

B/c a few of the apps I use are now only compatible with android 9+. I've only had the phone a couple of years--I got it from QVC. They tend to sell phones already released for cheap. I got the Samsung J2, 1500 data, 1500 texts, 1500 minutes with 1 year of service for 59.99 --on 6 payments of like 10 bucks. Phone works great. Is in excellent condition---but just need Android 9 b/c some of the app updates need newer versions of android
Hi,
is it possible to keep the stock rom and install newest google security patches?
It would be better to keep everything as it is (also user data) and just install security patches.
I love this phone and I don't need a new one. I'm also fine with the stock rom.
The only thing what bothers me is that the last security patch is 5 months ago.
(im familiar with flashing custom roms years ago: cyanogenmod on galaxy s3, lineagueos on s5. But since then I did not get in touch with the custom roms topic)
Thank you!

If you're on A12 try using Oxygen Updater to see if a later update is available.
Otherwise 1+ has ended updates for the 7 series
OnePlus 7 and 7T Series Will No Longer Get Any Software Updates
OnePlus has revealed that the OnePlus 7 and the 7T series will no longer get software updates going forward. Have a look at the details.

Yes oneplus ended updates and I don't like custom roms.
So the only option for me would be to buy a new phone just because I want security patches...

Afraid so. Security updates are pretty much over once the manufacturer stops tweaking the patches for a particular line.
Even Google only promises Pixel security updates for 5 years.
