People who cant use voice dialling I need your input

Basically there are a lot of people with the same problem.
When we hold down the magnifying glass and say "Call someone" the person isn't dialled and instead a google search page is displayed. The search terms on this page are "Call someone"
Its almost as if the phone recognized the word call, but ignored its responsibility to actually call the person, and instead just thinks we want to search google for these terms.
I have a hunch it down to some of us installing the android keyboard to obtain voice input, before another method to obtain the feature was realised.
So my question to you suffering with this....
How did you enable voice input on your desire?

Sometimes it works for me, sometimes it ignores me.
ie sometime I say "dial xxx" and it calls them, other it does a google search. Sometimes I say "directions to xxx" and it opens directions/maps - others it google it again.
Unfortunately saying "what can I say" doesn't tell me anything - what I really need is some documentation on the keywords / commands required but I can't find reference to them anywhere.
Anyone know of any?

Press the magnifying glass and say nothing and it brings up search. Say something and the same happens.

Maybe it has something to do with the local settings? I can choose the language and country > English(Netherlands), but not English(UK/US) or something..
So yes, I can't get it to work either..voice search 2.1 and android keyboard installed..

Have you actually installed the voice app? You are long pressing the mag key? The voice app mike is coming up?

Is Voice Search 2.1 a more recent version than the one pre-installed in the Desire? When I check my applications I get 'Version 140' under Voice Search....

It isn't pre-installed at all on the Desire, or wasn't on mine. The reason it doesn't work is because it isn't installed (in UK)

[Q] Voice Commands? (UK)

Ok, I recently got a Desire HD, I have understood that i can send texts and emails using only voice commands, (from the help video) However when i try the exact same sentence my voice command is not recognised, it just googles the command instead.
What can i do?!
P.s SMS By voice, email, call any business dont work, they just google what i said.
navigate, call etc do work.

Ive been trying to get this to work (also uk) apparently not all features are working, I did however manage to get some joy by turning the language to english US, this seemed to enable the phone to recognise text/call commands, try that see how you get on.

I dont have the option, for US english. :S

Has anyone got the voice dialling working on the Desire HD, or do I need a third-party application for this to work? Send text/email definitely doesn't work.

[Q] Different language for system provided voice actions

Hi,
I am using Moto 360 in the Czech Republic and it can understand czech language flawlessly. That means google will show me proper answer (also in czech) to my question on Moto 360 screen. But system provided voice actions like "show me my steps" or "send text .." are not recognised because they are in english. Is it possible to change them to different language?
I can make them working by switching setting of voice recognition language in Google Now phone app to english, but then I loose czech voice recognition (it is even possible to select both of languages there, but it recognise only primary language then).
Does some non-english speaking user there has more experience in this?

After update to AW2 (Huawei Watch) i can't voice answer as the watch writes random English words when i speak in Bulgarian. At AW1.5 voice recognition was not a problem.
Google settings in phone are bilingual.
Please advise.

The same here for Slovak. Sadly, looks like voice is strictly mediated via assistant and it currently lacks support for many languages.
The same for virtual keyboard. I have to have auto-correct turned off for me to be able to write in my language. Otherwise it changes Slovak words I type to some close English ones. Frustrating.

Question Assistant voice typing

Supported Languages? Has anyone been able to use it in Spanish?

Please share in which languages this function It's working

I have not been able to make it work in French (FR).

As far as I know, the "new" voice typing only works in English, every other language (like German, French, whatever) reverts back to the "old" voice typing (whenever the new voice typing activates, the microphone symbol in GBoard switches to this google-ish blue-red-yellow-green color profile)

I just checked the German Pixel 6 Pro Google Store page, and they do not advertise the new assistant there.
