Can anyone explain the GCam variants? - Google Camera Mods

There are multiple variants of GCam with the same version number from the same developer.
Can anyone explain what each variant is suitable for:

Here is good explanation from LMC R15 section.
Package names:
Needed for phones with restricted access to the extra cameras (wide, telephoto, etc).
• _snapcam / org.codeaurora.snapcam: devices with Snapdragon processors (eg: OnePlus).
• _qcamera3 / org.codeaurora.qcamera3: devices with Snapdragon processors.
• _aweme / com.ss.android.ugc.aweme: some Realme, OPPO, and OnePlus devices.
• _ruler / com.samsung.android.ruler: for Samsung devices.
• _scan3d / com.samsung.android.scan3d: for Samsung devices.
• _glens / com.google.android.GoogleCameraEng: if you want to use Google Lens.
If your phone doesn't have any restriction, you can use different packages to have different GCams installed side-by-side.

Thank you for the answer. There is still some questions though:
1. For Samsung phones, which one is more suitable: snap or ruler or scan3d or qcam? I know one can install each one (one at a time) and check, but it would help to know how each variant is different from the other. Or are ruler and scan3d for Exynos based Samsung phones?
2. Some of the APKs work fine with the main lens, but the moment I switch a lens, the app crashes. Given the infinite number of GCam variants available, it becomes very difficult to find one that works perfectly with a particular device, and more so when there are multiple variants with the same model number from the same developer.

1. I don't know differents of ruler and scan3d. Both are for samsung exynos or snapdragon.
2. This sound like lens ID is incorrect and app crashes.

...price, at least

I can't see iOS version coming - it will override iMessage functionality and iApple will iBan it from App Store.
Doesn't work quite well and the interface it's like a webpage from the 90's made with FrontPage...
How is this different from WhatsApp? Why even download it when there's a better option?

Eye experience - Features

Hi All,
I am unable to find all the features promised by JRC in the 4.4.4 update. - I personally am using the ARHD 20.1.
Features as described on this page: http://www.htc.com/us/innovations/eye-experience/
Automatic selfies/voice selfies. Found in settings.
Videochat. I have not been able to try this yet.
Split capture. Select it in modes. (Lame)
Crop-me-in. - I am unable to find this option? - We can cut and paste in pictures taken with the main camera, but we could do this before.
Face-fusion. - I am unable to find this option?
Live-makeup - This is found in settings. - I however do not see any change?
Photo booth - selet it in modes. (Really lame)
They write that not all features are available on all devices... We however have the topmodel? - What are your thoughts on this camera update?
What I personally like the most the video capture butten in the main camera interface.
/Benjamin

i think face tracking and multi chat is in hangouts.. this morning i called my mom via hangouts and there was options for face tracking on the top left (maximus HD 8.0)
Experience a better way to video chat with Face Tracking. Sitting perfectly still is no longer necessary, because all you have to do is stay in frame and Face Tracking will automatically focus in on you.
From real-time screen sharing to video chats with up to 4 people, Face Tracking lets you naturally do your thing without compromising quality.
Compatible with most live video services such as Skype, Line, Hangouts, WeChat, and more.

I figured Eye Experience would be a separate update to the Gallery App in the Play Store. It says coming soon on the website, maybe they didn't roll out the graphical/ui changes yet, regardless of the settings being there or not. Crop Me In is exactly cut and paste with the Duo Camera effects stuff.
EDIT: "The HTC EYE Experience features will roll out to the following models in the coming months" IE not out yet.
Note the UI image of the icons.

Question "Pixel Camera services" automatically appeared on my P6 Pro

There's a new app that installed itself automatically on my p6 pro. It's probably linked to the upcoming March Feature Drop (night sight available in certain third party apps).
It seems like Google has made a new framework, to give devs the ability to implement gcam with more ease.

This is great news for third party cam mods. Getting GCam features is the last hurdle that many custom cam mods faced, since they had a hard time rivalling Googles computing algorithm.

The Snapchat "Snap at Night" feature drop is now available on the Pixel 6/Pro (QPR3 Beta 1, but might work for Feb Stable?), seems to work great - hopefully this is a step forward in allowing 3rd party apps to use the Camera2 API as previously mentioned upon A12's release.

Why is everyone trippin over Pixel Camera Services? It was included in the A12 update and installed on all pixels. It just wasn't used until now. Doesn't anybody check their apps list regularly anymore?
all jokes aside, hopefully G will make it easier to implement the camera2 api package for third party apps (starting with SnatChap) so image quality should improve.

Have you enabled AWB?
Hello,
What is the version you are using, can you give me download link?
The only one I got orking was from SHAMIM but even then it freezes after a while if you install the cinfig file for the s22U.
I tried again and found a working version over here https://www.sammyfans.com/2022/05/22/download-gcam-mod-for-samsung-phones/.
I attached the files.
This version works when you install the attahced xml.
But I still cannot see the 3X and 10x zoom, it stays at 2x and 4x zoom.
But no colour problems as you have.
After some experimenting I have the 3x and 10x telephoto working. I'm using shamim v21 version of GCAM.
I can also takes pictures at 3x and 10x telephoto because the display show what I'm abut to photograph but the quality of the picture is not OK.
First of all the 3x and 10x telephoto.
This is just a matter of labels as the 3x and 10x work.
Go to settings - Additional settings - Auxiliary Cameras - Name for camera modules
enable names for aux lenses
set telephoto lens to 3x and ID4 lens to 10x
Second, show display at camera 1x, 3x and 10x
Go to settings - Advanced - Model Interface
For all the camera set the Pixel 3 (blueline) instead of Pixel 2 XL (taimen)
These settings may be saved in the profile files I found but then they are not loaded when importing. It's also possible they are not saved when saving the settings. But this is the way to overcome this for these settings.
Now the quality, video is ok, no banding but pictures are not, see included example, i tried a lot of settings but I do not get it right.
The pictures keep on having banding, if somebody can help me with that?
Thank to Pirpolo I found a solution.
You can find it on GCAM for Exynos
This is for shamim version? i do not know if you have the same settings for agc.
