if i dont use fingerprint and let the screen goes off, then after a while, for second time , when i tap the screen there is no fingerprint icon on screen and i cant use fingerprint....even if i dont tap the screen for second time, i cant use fingerprint after first time and i must double tap to make the screen on and use fingerprint...
the fingerprint set to always on
thanks
It's an old bug, reported a long ago.. i assume you are still in one ui 5.0? because it is solved in 5.1 update.
If you are yet to receive one ui 5.1, there is a workaround. Set your fingerprint icon to display "never" on AOD. It will bypass the bug and will not be an issue further.

Hello, I have 2 Nokia 6.1 in my family, one has the double tap to wake and it works perfectly, but the other one dosen't work... even if I unchek and check again the setting in display settings, when I try it it never works. But it's working if I tap like 3 or 4 times without stop it will wake up. but 2 tap never work. ( i DON'T have a screen protector or case, nothing (on both))
Do you know why? Do you have this problem? My Nokia 6.1 doesn't have a double-tap but a triple-tap (or more) to wake lol... :crying:
the real question is, is it a hardware issue?
Thanks guys!
I have experienced it too, when the phone is inactive for longer times it's harder to wake it up that way, but when notification comes it wakes up instantly with 2 taps.
It's very weird, I hope it's not a hardware tuchscreen issue!
I just tested tap to wake on my previous phone (Xperia Z3) and the 2 tap to wake world perfectly anytime, but with my 6.1 it's like there is an issue...
Yes, something is definitely wrong, but maybe it has to be that way so battery lasts longer or something, because it works fine when you tap it right after using it,
but when it's not being used for a while then it starts to disobey.
Maybe its related to the fingerprint sensor or unlock patern
the phone seems to go into a deep sleep if it's been locked for a while, I guess this is why the battery life is good - I found when this happens double tap doesn't work and certain apps effectively close themselves if they're not actively doing anything.
Guys, I don't speak with just my Nokia 6.1, I have 2 Nokia 6.1 in front of me.
Both have fingerprint for unlock, both 100%, both are the same, both with tap to wake enabled...
When I double tap together there is one who NEVER wake up... except when I X tap like a dumb, like "taptaptaptaptap..." and then it understand that someone double tap after 5-10 times lol... but the other one works everytime (EVERY) prefect...
I will maybe make a video

Same problem here. If the phone is sleeping for like 10+ mibutes, the first double tap does absolutely nothing, I have to redo it a 2nd time. If it sleeps a minute or two it is working first try.
Hey, I've found about a bug on our cute little phone. If you did already setup the fingerprint and you have enabled double tap to jump to camera you'll have this bug, at least I have. While the screen is off, if you jump to camera with double tap option on power button and immediately place your scanned finger on scanner you will darken your screen except in nav. bar in status bar, the screen is not interactive at all except upper and lower part of screen. If you lock and unlock your phone, it's back to normal, or sometimes it would fix it if you would just lower the status bar. Am I the only one who has this bug, or is there somebody else as well?
I don't have it. Feb update Pie.

Yup, I tried it with the latest update (March) and indeed it happens what you say. It's not a very important bug since you need to be pretty fast and can get solved just by locking and unlocking again but it's there.

Good find...I just try it and it happened to me just like you.
So on my s10 i can tap the screen to reveal the fingerprint icon so that i know where i need to place my finger but this setting is missing from the note 10?
This means i have to double tap to wake the screen and then use the fingerprint scanner! Its much quicker the other way and enables me to bypass the lock screen altogether!
Anyone else know what iam talking about and do you have the setting on your note 10 plus ?
I can single tap the screen to get the sensor location. AOD is set to "tap to show". Hope that helps

Oh interesting! Maybe AOD needs to be on so! AOD is off on my S10 but i can still tap to show the indicator. The settings on my S10 that give me that option are not available on my Note 10 +

I tried that and it works but then the clock is displayed too which i dont want! Basically i can unlock the phone from sleep using my fingerprint and bypass the lockscreen but have no idea where to place my thumb! On the S10 you could tap to see an indicator but you cant on the Note 10 for some reason! You have to guess or else your forced to use the always on display

If youre just unlocking it right after tapping it, why does it matter if the clock shows for a split second?
I turned off my AOD and tapping the screen brings up the place to touch without anything else...
Don't know why software experiences can be so different, I'm in Oz if that helps with a stock Exynos variant...
We all are aware that enabling faster animation under developer settings causes a glitch in the fingerprint reader in Always On Display where the fingerprint reader icon gets disabled.
Is there a fix for this yet?

No, we are not all ware. I do not have any problems with my fingerprint reader when making animations faster.
It seems to be a bug that only affects a certain number of people.
Yup, no issues here on .037.
I'm affected, no fix known to me.

I'm also on .037
I find this so strange. I've set my animation to anything other than 100 or 0, and afterwards, my AOD sometimes does not display the fingerprint logo for me to unlock the pixel 6 pro.
I'm then forced to press the power button to show the logo and proceed to unlock the phone.

Same thing here.
I went back to x1.0 animations and now everything is ok with fingerprint and AOD. it used to disappear, and I had to power on the screen to unlock it with fingerprint.
If this phone had a better battery consumption and face unlock, I would keep it for 5 more years... but like this, I'm changing to Xiaomi 12 as soon as it gets released.
Has this been fixed with the December update?

Yes. It has. But I'm not a fan of it since the update. The animation is sometimes choppy and it's very noticeable. I'm annoyed with it. The animation was not an issue prior to the update.
Hello, I just got my pixel 6 pro today. And I've been having some issues. Especially with the "tap to check phone" gesture.
I remember vividly that when I would tap on my phone, the screen with show up, but dimmed. And now when I tap my phone, it shows the phone's lockscreen at full brightness instead of being dimmed, which is arguably not what it used to be.
Was this changed in a later update, or is there a way to fix that? I really liked that feature and I really want it back!

As informative as this thread is, that's not the issue. I don't want it disabled. I want it to behave that when you tap on the phone, it shows the always on display briefly, instead of turning on the screen. I swear this used to work before
