Question Samsung Secure Folder best alternative? - Samsung Galaxy Z Fold3

So i am fan of samsung secure folder which keeps one of my telegram/whatsapp/gallery and phone contacts seperate from my main main gallery, contacts etc. But now i am thinking to root my phone with magisk which ofcourse gonna trip knox and secure folder wont work so what are best alternative to use which must have option to keep everything seperate and option to lock and hide that folder or app?
Also there was an option in a model of huawei which let you unlock your phone with different fingers lets say if you unlock with right thumb you go to profile 1 but if you unlock with left thumb you go to profile 2 and both are seperate and safe can i find this kinda app for a rooted phone?

In my humble opinion, there is no alternative. If there is root then there is no 100% security.

I'm trying to paste some .brn files to remove the provider branding of my touch. I apologize in advance if this has been discussed elsewhere, I just couldn't find it. I recently moved to the touch from a g4 wizard because of provider pricing changes, it made more sense to finally move to a phone with a data plan. My poor wizard...anyway, I'm unable to paste files like I could with my wizard. I would just open the windows folder and paste via the activesync connection, but now I get an access is denied error. I think what I did on my wizard was enable rapi and unsigned apps, is there something that will allow me to do this?
I don't like the rom that's on their right now, it's much slow than my wizard's clean rom, I want to access sprint tv and what not, but don't want it on my cube. I'm also looking for a way to add side swipe gestures, like if I use a left right gesture on today screen I want htc action to come up, and right left should be icontact...is their a way to do this without installing ftouchflo...? Please give me some guidance. I've bricked a wizard, ya baby, but after that I learned to read so I didn't do it again, so if I have to flash I will, but I don't want to void warranties or anything...
carrier name
are you just talking about the carrier name in the corner of your today screen? if so I can post a little .cab file thats lets you change it to whatever you want

No, it would be cool to change the carrier name though. I'm referencing all the carriers customization to my phone. For instance on my cube, my mediahub side has three options Sprint Music /Sprint Tv /On Demand. The sprint music launches an application where you can pay for and download music, the tv(doesn't work) but is supposed to open an application that I can watch mobile tv on, and the On demand brings me to a third party app(I think) that has option for weather and getting directions. I don't want any of these, I want my music button to open the htc audio manager, the sprint tv should open my pictures and the on demand should open my videos...plus I want to change the button pictures on the face of the cube itself. I'm not going to talk about how much I don't like the 6 app side. It's fine for a normal user of the phone I'm sure, but if I want to go to the sprint applications, I will set up my own links or access them through the programs folder...Ya know...?
My opinion is to completely remove the cube, you'll eventually see that changing the cube is just a simple skinning process. Bu, if you need to, you need to make .bmp files and convert them to .brn, search for the BMP/BRN Converter, it's a very simple app to make the conversion, search here for it. Or, check my Tips thread on how to remove it, and add a different cube.

I'm trying to follow your tutorial, but it is written quite complicated.
Why do I need WidgetLocker?
God bless you, sir. I was thinking of awesome ways to use this when I thought about putting a tag in my wristband. Its completely invisible and more handy than I thought it would be.

Because it's the only locker that I know that can be unlocked by the "return" key.

Great!
I would like to work with you on monetizing and creatig a business with the app you have created.
This is cool and all, but I'm curious about the practical application of using this. I would think that sliding to unlock would be easier than carrying/wearing an NFC tag all the time.
This makes me want to implant a nfc tag into my palm now...

^^^ yes. Can someone explain or shine some light to what good uses this would bring?
Security????
Hey everyone, sorry I didn't notice the replies sooner.
For the ones asking, this is useful when you don't want to waste time typing your password but still want a kind of security in case your phone is stolen.
As someone said, having an nfc tag in your hand would be the absolutely perfect thing, your phone would unlock just by holding it, and noone else would be able to use it

Well, sure you think that now, but once you've been equipped with your government-supplied NFC tracking implant, it'll all make perfect sense.
Actually...This isn't something I'd use on my personal device, but for the phones in my dev environment, it's a decent way to lock 'em but still make it easy enough for a group of techs to unlock the devices when they're near the bench...
I'm trying to use NFC Task Launcher to control App Protector Pro so that specific Apps can be unlocked via NFC.
Basically the following method:
NFC Task Launcher -> Tasker Task -> App Protector Pro Plugin -> Disable App Protector Pro
But the problem is, the task to unlock App Protector Pro can be called from directly within NFC Launcher. This defeats the purpose of App Protector Pro since anyone can go into NFC Task Launcher to unlock App Protector Pro.
at least a PIN lock is needed to plug this security hole.
Is there any NFC Task Launcher that locks itself?
You could try locking NFC Task Launcher with a different locking app. Keep the same setup but have a passcode using a different locking app to lock it. If you need to tasker can lock apps too. It's a very basic lock but it still works.
Method 1: download a new locking app to lock NFC Task Launcher. Here's one I saw that looked good
Method 2: Lock NFC Task Launcher with tasker
Sorry no links. XDA won't let me because I'm new.
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda premium
Problem with that is that the given lock app will pop-up once you scan a tag as NFC Task Launcher is utilized.
So cool

Thx its very cool
Sweet! I'm going to try this ASAP! Thank you for the tutorial
Support for other devices...
Any chance of this mod being used for non GSIII devices? The file you want to download seems GSIII specific and like it wouldn't work for other devices, but you say that this is a tutorial for "other devices." Anyone tested this on another other devices to confirm that it works?

Yeah I'm curious about this too. Has anyone done this successfully on another device, like maybe a Note 2?

It's most likely that the S3 version will not work on other devices...
If you want, you can try flashing it after BACKUP!!!!
But this is what I did...
The NFC on Lockscreen/ScreenOff MOD seem to first started on this thread: CLICK HERE
So, I kindly asked on that thread if someone could port this MOD so I could use it on my Skyrocket.
Thankfully, one of the developers ported over for me with 24 hours...

Security crypt

Hello
A question about the safety of oneplus because I want to move from s8 to 6 according to some criteria
I will take a 256 for lack of card sd to enjoy the double sim hoping for a good return on the photo side ....
Also, the security side is important
How is the phone encrypted in case of loss?
Is unlocking easy if loose.... ?
Thank you for your feedback

The phone is encrypted with the lockscreen security that you choose, for an example Password/pin/pattern if you use oxygenOS. Make sure not to use with unlocked bootloader or with USB debugging on by default and it will be secure enough.
Basically it's standard encryption as most decent android devices. If you are afraid of specific data being compromised I would rather look into encryption those files in containers as VeraCrypt does on PC with a 16-minimum character password, use a hidden container if needed. :good:
Hello
thanks for this answer if I understand correctly it is not nécessaire or recommended to root the phone for it to be secure ....
for veracrypt is it usable directly on Android? I come from a s8 plus with knox on oneplus the fingerprint reader is it secure ?
Usually It's for my bank application and to protect photos with secure case.
If you want security do not root it or unlock bootloader. Use stock updated OS with a strong lockscreen password. But really just a normal setup is good. An average Joe isn't going to break into your phone. if you're not targeted by professionals, normal security is really enough
Hello
Thx for u reply [emoji16]
Oneplus without root.... Even rom custom is secure...?
I understand Now Why your advise to stay with the real os
Thank u very much

(Things that need to be improved) Non Intutive app design and UI options in Note 10+

1. Was using the Galaxy Buds purchased with Note 10+ to listen to audible and realized that to skip back 10 seconds I have to triple tap the bud.
I thought that there must be a customization option in the Galaxy Wearable app using which I can reprogram single tap on left bud to skip back and single tap on right bud to skip forward for Audible app.
Again I searched and found that they do not allow any such app specific customization.
I mean the possibilty is there, they made the hardware and the software but still are limiting the user.
2. I recently transferred some files to Download folder on Note 10+ and then opened the My Files app.
Clicked on the Downloads option in the middle and couldn't find it. For a while I thought it was a bug only to realize later that the Downloads button shows files downloaded via the Internet directly onto the phone and does not point to the Folder names "Download".
So now to check the files I have to go into My Files and open the folder.
3. There is the option to Double tap to Wake up but no option for double tapping on empty area of Home screen or Notification bar to turn off phone.
4. The Secure Folder app allows user to create a clone of every app in a secured area.
And Dual Messenger allows user to clone messaging apps without needing to create and enter a passwors protected space.
However I wanted to make a clone of Youtube as I use two account but can't do that without using third party unstable solutions like Multi Parallel.
If I want to do it Samsung's way I need to enter the Secure Folder every single time.
I mean they have already created the solution and put it on the phone but by implementing their own rules they are making the feature less or non usable.
Please note I'm not saying the phone is bad or anything, far from it, it is probably one of the best phones out there and I totally like it for what it is.
It is just that I switched from a Zenfone 5z and even they had the features mentioned in points 2,3 and 4.
I was having higher expectations from Samsung switching back to them after being a long term Note 3 user.
I hope someone at Samsung R&D reads this and improves upon these things in future software updates.
1. third tap and hold?
2. app harmony problem
3. nova launcher

Question Multiple users on Fold 3? (aka work profile)

hey everyone,
I am struggling to find the option for adding another user.
I found this and this article on samsung web however netiher works for me.
The goal would be a completely secondary user for my work (work profile) which is password protected.
do you guysknow how to enable it?
Thanks!
As your account is linked to a Samsung account.
Best gues is go to settings and tap on you name and see there
I believe multiple users requires a rooted phone if your carrier does not enable it for you. I have not done this on the Fold 3 since I want the camera to continue to work and rooting it will kill the camera - thanks Samsung!
This is how you change BuildProp to enable multi user if you have root: How to Add Multi User Support to any Android Device with a Build.Prop Mod
Once you have it enabled, here is how you add users:

Not sure about a completely different user, but does the Secure Folder work for you? Separate apps, contact lists, can't paste outside of it, separate files, etc. all password/fingerprint protected.

I meant Secure Folder, and fixed it, but I'm glad you knew what I meant!
I used secure folder for my work purpose as well, all the company login, apps are completely separate via secure folders and the company admin won't be able to see my non-work information in this manner.
Have you looked at - Island App or the Play Store link?
Sounds like it does what you are looking for.

This looks like it's the same as Secure Folder, but will work with non-Samsung phones.
Correct, it is a non-Knox solution.
