i have a china version op11, the motivation to wanting to covert to oos was due to preinstalled app's. for example, android auto won't run unless it is preinstalled by device makers.
since converting from cos to oos seem problematic thus far, i am wondering if there is a way to flash oos's preinstalled app's to cos? if so, would future OTA updates of cos erase them?
the apps are in different partitions such as the product partition, odm, system. So if you flash the individual oos partitions on coloros and make a coloros ota, these partitions will be overplayed with coloros images again
Android Auto issues on ColourOS11
Ever since updating to ColourOS11, android auto has been freezing on me when the screen is off however activating the screen will unfreeze it. Is anyone else experiencing this or if anyone knows a fix besides 30m screen timeout.

Hey community. I would like to ask you a way to avoid the removal of Pixel Launcher after OS updates (monthly updates). Basically, I install the launcher as system app and fix the permissions as for the guides, but as soon an an update comes the launcher is removed. Any tips on how to avoid it? The annoying part is that each time I need to reinstall and set up my preferences. Thanks in advance.
No modifications to /system will persist across stock updates. However, as long as you reinstall the Pixel Launcher via recovery before you first boot back into Android, it won't lose its preferences. You can also install Magisk and then use the Pixel Launcher Magisk module, which will let you save even more effort (you still have to be careful to reinstall Magisk before letting Android boot, though).
As the title states lately I have been having fingerprint issues. Setting up fingerprint to unlock my phone works perfectly with the phone itself. When it's comes to apps Chase, Cinemark , TMobile setting up fingerprint verification goes through correctly. Now opening the apps and using my fingerprint to verify does not unlock the app. Apps just keep telling me to put my assigned fingerprint in again. Anyone noticing issues lately? Is there any way to troubleshoot this? I have reflashed the OTA (8.1 Oreo - March update) multiple times- no change.
Running stock 8.1 Oreo March update
Any other suggestions?

I have not had any issues with apps that rely on / give the option of fingerprint authentication. I also have Chase installed and I just tested it and it works fine. I also have Amex, Bank of America, alarm.com, ADT Pulse and fingerprint access seems to be working fine on all of them. I am also running stock 8.1 Oreo / March update- but I am unlocked and rooted with Magisk. One suggestion based on some Fingerprint related struggles I had recently (when TWRP couldn't decrypt and I had to remove Fingerprint/pattern security during the update process and then add back after updating/rooting)....I found that some apps that had already had Fingerprint access enabled, didn't behave well when Fingerprints were removed then added back on the phone. The best workaround I found in those cases was to uninstall the app completely, fully setup Fingerprint security on the phone, then install the apps again. This definitely was the case with Amex, Chase, and Bank of America. Just something to try...good luck.
So using the OTA multiple times via fastboot wouldn't have cleared the apps?

Sideloading or taking the OTA natively doesn't typically wipe app data in my experience. Flashing the factory image (without removing the -w) would wipe your data (and most everything else)...but that creates alot of work in setting up your phone again. I found uninstalling the troublesome apps, setting up fingerprint security/pattern, then reinstalling and setting up the apps relying on fingerprints worked the best for me - but the situations are a bit different as my troubles always were related to adding new fingerprints to the phone and apps that had the "old" fingerprint information already....for me - uninstalling / reinstalling the apps solved my issue.. YMMV
Wondering if anyone here may have a suggestion. For the past few months I have not been able to use anything ARCore related on my Pixel 3XL. Camera modes that use it (slow mo and playground), Measure app, etc. all crash immediately. The camera functions normally otherwise. I first noticed it when I went into the Beta program for Q, but for all I know it was happening before.
Things i have tried so far:
Reboot
Factory Reset
Complete re-install of Android 10
Complete re-install of Android 10 without restoring backups
Complete re-install of Android P without restoring backups
The only thing I can think is that I replaced a broken screen. Could I have damaged something while I had the phone open that is causing ARCore failures?
Xiaomi Mi 10T 12.1.1.0.RJDMIXM
I experienced the following issues after recently updating to Android 11. Any help would be much appreciated.
1. I can no longer side load any app.
APK installation fails every time whether it's attempted on the phone or via ADB. I tried everything I could find online short of disabling MIUI optimization, as I'd prefer not to suffer the pain of resetting permissions (again). Has anyone successfully restored side load functionality in Android 11 by disabling MIUI optimization?
It may instead be related to something Google introduced with Android 11 called app integrity, which apparently makes it more difficult (hopefully not impossible) to install apps from sources other than the Play store. If this is the culprit, does anyone know of a workaround that doesn't involve me having to root my phone (too much hassle/risk for my liking), or reverting to Android 10 (assuming that's possible)?
2. MX Player keeps crashing after a few seconds of video playback.
I'm not sure whether this is a fault of MX Player, MIUI or Android 11. It's the latest version and worked just fine before the update.
3. BlackPlayer keeps hanging whenever I open it.
I'm not sure whether this is a fault of BlackPlayer, MIUI or Android 11. It's the latest version and worked just fine before the update.
I updated my Mi10T Pro to Android 11 with that version through OTA. After multiple reboots all sorts of weird things were still happening and I wasn't happy using the phone. The things you describe are the sort of problems I had - though not those things specifically.
I the end I figured I had no choice but to do a Factory Reset. Yes, it was a painful process re-authenticating into most apps, but since then the phone has been completely stable and no issues, including easy sideloading.
Neither of these three issues were solved by performing a factory reset, unfortunately.
Although, it turns out that if you uninstall 'MIUI security components' (com.miui.guardprovider) when debloating – something I believe Xiaomi introduced with this version of MIUI – you lose the ability to side load. Leaving it alone retains the ability to install from unknown sources.
So at least that's fixed!
New problem. Starting with this version of MIUI, if you allow an app to display permanent notifications, they'll be shown on the lock screen even if you've disabled lock screen notifications. I suppose this will get fixed in a future update.
For Mx player issue.. Temporary fix is every time you open it, after opening go to the mx player app info and force stop it then open mx player again. You'll be able to play videos normally.

leads me to google help page and asks me to do steps 1-4 above
I do not want to reset the phone, pain pain pain

I been having the same issue. Im glad it's not just me.. have the same phone. Im on mint mobile.
Like you, tried all that you have listed, nothing works.
Contacted Samsung and they said ' well since you have tried the basic methods, need to send it in to be looked at or go to a certified Samsung servicer.' which is like 3hrs away from me.
Like you, I am pondering doing an factory reset.
Did some more scouring, and came across this.To disable the device care...worked for me. Hope it works for you.

Playstore is a mess and a battery hog. I use it as little as possible.
I package disable it. I avoid "sampling" apps on Playstore unless I need to; they can damage the system making a factory reset necessary sometimes to repair the damage if you can't undo it. It's rare but it can happen.
I use ApkExport to backup all my apps. This is what I use if I need to reload, it's much faster and more precise.
Updates and upgrades can and do break things.
This N10+ is running on Pie, last firmware update was almost 2.5 years ago. The current OS will be 2 yo in June. Still fast, stable with minimal maintenance. Security is not an issue.
My new N10+ is running on Android 10, it has a better UI but it's also more of a pain.
More than likely neither will ever be upgraded especially the newer one.
With scoped storage fully active in 11 it will slow the N10+ down. There are multiple issues with 12, I recommend not upgrading to 12 or 11 for that matter... you can likely rollback 12 to 11, but not 11 to 10 as the bootloader was upgraded too.
Same is true with 10 to 9, it can't be rolled back.
